It's SO much better when vendors do review & explainer videos, than when they are done by influencers! Vendors always know the right questions to ask & have the experience needed to give the right answers.

First of all, you guys have totally defeated NYC traffic issues. You’re getting a work out while having fun while traveling.. and you’re straight out from the future. you have taken a Group ride and turn it into a music video. And to say a promotion for Eskating is an understatement . And then the way you are experiencing the city is just phenomenal. You guys are on another level .more of this please

I'll give you credit for making a buyer's guide so good that someone like me who already owns an awesome scooter still watched to the end. 😎 Could you do a video about upgrading scooters, battery, display, throttle type, power management system, or for instance fitting fully pneumatic brakes on a scooter with dual wire to caliper brakes? If the difference is worth the time and effort etc. Cheers!

11:04 The Puncture safety thing inside tyre save me a lot of times on my NinebotG30 scooter. Multiple time i stopped and think im gonna get a flat tyre. Had a 1inch small nail in the back tyre and toke it out, nothing happen. Accidentally driving on glas from crushed bottle on the road 5-6 times, to late for breaking. Driving on 2-10mm tiny sharp gravel rocks all the time, no problem. Drive every day with scooter 1year and around 7000km on it. Never had a flat tyre. Run with 5,5-6bar in the tyre and my weight are 85kg. The tyre cost dubble as a regular without puncture safety thing. But it is sooo worth it.

Great explanation of everything newbies need to know - I've had an Apollo Ghost for 18 months now, with 2,200 kms on an almost daily commute. One thing that should be asked is "how fast are you prepared to fall off" (personally I'm at 40kph), and watch out for people using earbuds as they can't hear your bell! Would have loved to have seen this vid before I purchased, however no regrets as the ghost I bought with twin x 1000w and hydraulics is a gem here in south west Western Australia. Local Shire committed to a wheelchair access plan many years ago and is definitely favourable to e-scooters!

Yo my man. Awesome possum on the video. A whole lotta tomatoes or tomatos along given out. You took me to school I appreciate you sharing that knowledge. I’m in Los Angeles and I have to find a store that I can purchase my scooter from so that I may touch it, feel it and smell it before I buy it. I’m cancelling my Amazon order right after my thabk uou note. I guess perhaps in LA we use cars a lot more to get around in? Lol. So I’ve had a difficult time finding a store front and test drive one before purchasing one. One silly comment I do have about your video is that you should have a translate button I kept having to rewind due to the neat accent factor. It’s neat to listen to y’all but a little tricky. Hey brother again thabks so much and much luck with to you and the athletic assistant of yours. Hey man I think you should have alternated between takes or you perhaps should add a few clips with you running and the blade runner on the scooter. I’m just saying man. Best of luck.

Great info, so thanks for the in depth information. I´m having too many punctures on my rear tire and it´s a duel motor with the hubs in two parts. You say it´s common to have more punctures when your heavy due to nipping. I take it you refer to the inner hubs nipping the tube. I have has the sport tires on for some time, yet despite the vibration, maybe should use the offroad ones with thicker pattern´s. It´s a "Nitrox RS3200 V2" and extremely powerful with 87 kilometers/hour recorded on a level road! I however am happier at slower speeds, but am grateful when on paths for that extra push. I was going to try out the "Green slime" as I thought the air loss to be too slow to be the tube every time. I have had to fix the punctures 7 times so far! Hope this gives you a laugh. I liked that thumb power lever too, very nice. Yet I do have to sacrifice weight, as it´s impossible to lift the thing into my van, I had to design a ramp in the end, that works very well. Will subscribe, pity you are not in Sweden.

I love your video I'm about 45 minutes into it right now. And I've got a question for you. You may or may not cover this in your video by the end. I have a bad back and I'm looking for a personal transportation vehicle for around town and also whenever I go hiking or camping. Because walking causes me a lot of pain after a while. I am looking for a scooter that can go top speed of maybe 40 miles an hour, dual motors for the hiking, but would you recommend a scooter that allows me to sit? Or am I going to have better balance on a scooter standing? My back is not particular to either standing or sitting. And should I avoid thinner tires? I'm thinking the fatter tires would offer better balance for me.
@RIDEGLIDE
@RIDEGLIDE Год назад
Hi Mike, Firstly thanks for watching and gad you enjoyed it! For cruising along flat ground for long (ish) distances a seat would be comfortable and probably help your back if it was set up correctly. However for hilly trails there is a major benefit to standing as you can reposition your body when turning and for incline changes. Also because you are not just standing constantly in the same position it allows your back to move which in my experience can alleviate some of the pain and stop it seizes. Obviously this isn't medical advice but just observations 👍

@@RIDEGLIDE I live near Boulder, we have a ton of trails and we are looking right now at how to deal with E vehicles. My personal preference would be a speed limit. We do have areas with little kids, seniors, dogs, etc. Regular bikers fly by sometimes at 20 mph and it seems too fast. Put a speed limit in areas that need it and the community will adopt it imo.

@@Bicklehoff794 definitely agree with the speed limit for safety! Limiting the power can be more dangerous for hills etc but a speed limit is really sensible 😀👍

I'm on my second scooter and the first had a half twist throttle and the one I have now has a full motorcycle twist throttle. In my opinion the full grip throttle is the most comfortable and controllable and easiest to brake. I don't know why that's a more common choice.
@RIDEGLIDE
@RIDEGLIDE Год назад
Guess different companies favour different throttles but we love the full twist grip over here 🙌

Great guide vid guys! Is it possible for you to do a full point by point comparison of the Segway GT2 agains the Dualtron Thunder II? I would love to see that one as those are the two scoots I’m deciding between. Thanks!

It really depends on what characteristics are most important to you. The Segway is light-years ahead of the Dualtrons as far as Ergonomics. The Dualtron is definitely faster and has longer range by a large margin

@@RIDEGLIDE very welcome! I love the work you all put in. I'm a lead mechanic at Yorkshire Electric Scooters in Sheffield so I'm also one for repairing a vast majority of scooters but I've never had anything major with Dualtron, VSETT or Kaabo thankfully! Do you guys do anything with Inokim? As I have the OXO and I can't recommend it enough, she's an absolute tank of a scooter!

the problem with thumb or finger throttle is that if you ride more than 30 minutes your finger or thumb goes numb specially when its cold twist throttle are the best but they are not gradual and can be dangerous most of brand names are finger or thumb throttle and their is no option in changing them on major brand names . its a very good review for pros and beginners as well . my wish is that one day you will be able to buy custom build scooters so you can have all options you like while riding.

Hi and thanks for the feedback. The good thing with most scooters these days is the cruise control function which takes pressure off your digits 😀

One thing we’re missing in the personal electric vehicle world (what’s the acronym again?) is repair shops. At least in the USA, Colorado, you pretty much need to do all maintenance and repairs yourself. Would love to see companies open up retail shops with repair options.
@RIDEGLIDE
@RIDEGLIDE Год назад
Over here in the UK there are more and more popping up which is great. In the US the major cities seem to have them but its such a big place, it going to take time for the infrastructure to catch up, we feel your pain 🙌

Bro if i had a question, you answered it. Thank you. We or rather i need guys like present at these stores to explain this to me rather then simply feeding into my desire to get a fast fancy looking scooter that doesnt support me. It’s a toss up but i think the NAMI or the DUALTRON ULTRA 2. The nami has better lighting where as the dualtron has more speed but they both have the suspension im looking for but the nami has the tech display and wont have to replace the foot rest and the controller at the same time but the dualtron ultra has 56 plus mph and even more down hill. Thanks again Bro. Most definitely gonna save this video, this is all i need

This is the best video I’ve seen. I wish i would have seen it 2 wks ago when i started researching an electric scooter to buy. I took notes during this video. I’ll def check out your shop but i am in the states. I hope you can help me in my search for a scooter. So I’m female, 5’6, 197lbs. I will not be off-roading. This scooter will be strictly for a 4 block sidewalk commute/flat road w/ occasional pothole if i can go around it. My key points are i have to carry a backpack which realistically may add at least 10 lbs of weight to the load, so for this reason, i am shopping higher max load capacity and not the 220lb max load. I also only need it for 4 mos as i am in school. My other key points is I need to be able to carry this up/down 2 flights of stairs twice a day, so lightweight will be key for me. It will be going into a classroom, so portability is important. I am seeking lightweight material only: aircraft grade aluminum or lighter. No hi-tensile steel. Additionally, i went to test out lifting some kettlebell weights - i don’t know what these are made from but 15 lbs was completely liftable in one hand. 25 lbs was liftable but not for long. 30 lbs was not liftable. They didn’t have a 20lb kettlebell in stock but i did lift a 20lb dumb bell which felt like the 30lb kettlebell. I’m assuming an item made from aluminum will be much lighter though. As for going thru my notes from your video of what i prefer (this will be my first scooter), i don’t have a preference on throttles but the twist throttle peaks my interest since i am into motorcycles and what I’m familiar with). Tires: if we go solid, we go honeycomb since they seem to be the best out of the solids. What about foam filled though? The inmotion air pro has a rear foam filled will the motor is. If we go pneumatic, I’m seeking self sealing tires, so tubeless. Tire diameter: wide. One scooter I’m looking at (fluid mosquito) offers 8” x 2” but solid tires. I don’t want to be slipping around on this thing even if i am only going 4 blocks. Brakes: i think i would be fine w/ drum/regen. Not off-roading so don’t need hydraulic. Deck length/width: i wear a size 9W shoe, so length/width are important to me. I prefer a skateboard deck, if it’s 5” wide, i will overhang. I need pref 5.5 as a min, but i prefer 6” min width. Now 5” might work if i have length. If i have a skateboard deck, I’m good. Suspension: i think Spring will be more than fine for me due to the terrain I’m on Motors: because of my weight, I’m told i should go for at least 500w motor nominal. Rims: if we are using solid tires or tubeless, then fixed should be fine right? Controllers: i think single b/c of my needs Safety: i have both motorcycle gear and bicycle helmet, but for my needs, i think a bicycle helmet will be more than adequate b/c I’m not going fast and not off-reading. What do you recommend? I started off looking at Unagi one e500, fluid mosquito, skate-x pro (Bustin boards). Fluid customer service has been wonderful and they seem to have a great rep. Bustin boards never emailed or called me back. Voro has been good too. Have lately been looking at Apollo, Emove, G-Force, G-Cycle, and Taur. Can’t do Taur b/c they won’t be shipping til 8 more weeks. G-Force looks awesome but they don’t sell replacement parts nor does G-Cycle which looks better spec wise than the Unagi. The Apollo and Emove are more scooter than i need but they’re so nice. Fluid sells all the replacement parts as does Voro, but Voro offers aftermarket. Fluid has a great warranty, most of what i have looked at offers a great warranty. I don’t have a budget. I will spend for the right thing but i only need it for 4 mos and i don’t feel i need to spend $1,000 or more. Everyone says the solid tires are crap. I only know how a stunt scooter feels (polyurethane wheels) so will the honeycomb fill softer than polyurethane wheels or harder?
@RIDEGLIDE
@RIDEGLIDE Год назад
Wow, thanks for the feedback and we love the detail you are going into. We would avoid the Unagi unless they have seriously improved their build quality. We had a lot of issues with the front wheels coming loose. They look great but didn't last. The Mosquito or Etwow you are looking at is great. As long as you don't have really steep hills it will be fine. The tyres can be slippery in very cold or wet conditions but should probably avoid riding them anyway. For portability they cant be beaten for the spec!! The bigger the tyre, better brakes etc etc all add weight so wouldnt be useful for you. Inmotion have a new dual motor scooter out called the Climber, we have a review about to come out for it. Its actually really good and weighs just over 20kg so still portable. Its got a great water resistance rating and 10 inch pneumatic tyres, really cool scooter 👍
