The new firmware 2.2.3 now supports 'removing' sounds from the master out too! 'Master' will now work as 1+fx and 2+fx without the outputs 3-8.

I went for the micro due to HP and the ability to multisample plugins. Now I can play chords in my eurorack. I use deluge for sequencing the Bitbox via midi in :). There are lots of features I like. One is the pitch which sounds great and other one is that you can change all your samples while sequencing them.

OMG... a Bitbox Mk2 in TWO Eurorack form factors? Am I seeing things? This is amazing! I'd love to spend a few days working with either of them. I'd get one if I didn't already have an SP 404 MkII and a Morphagene module. But if I ever decide to do gigs with just my modular case, it would be worth it.

Great to see a pro at work on the Bitbox... There are so few BbMk2 guides out there. I'd love to see you do one which explores the use of the internal and external LFO and maybe external envelopes to control the sample playback!:)

Thanks for this, gave me some new ideas on how to use split with bitbox (I've not had it long). I went for the Micro as most things I want to multisample are Midi so the Midi out was a big plus. Also it's much cheaper than its bigger brother, and as I trigger many of the pads over midi from the sequencer, it leaves all 8 inputs available for modulation or a few gates if they're triggered from some random sequence. I agree though, so much fun to be had with these modules!

Brilliant (as usual). I love my Bitbox micro, it was the first module I bought. BTW, I'd suggest you also look at the setting - I think it's - 'start sample'. I see yours is set at '1'. Try changing it, you'll be surprised what happens - I think you can even modulate that parameter. Lastly, the last thing you should mention (or try) is editing the size of the sample - start and end points.

I went with the Micro because of the midi out so I could multi sample some of other hardware easily. Launch pad pro mk3 makes a good companion for it too! You can take the 3.5mm midi out front the launch pad and send it straight to the midi in on the Micro

Don't be put off, buy a cheap skiff or small custom case, possibly try second hand modules at first so you can see if it suits you Price of entry to make a basic synth could be just a few hundred dollars

Honestly if you picked up a bit box micro and a midi sequencer you've already got a complete set up. If you can afford that anything extra on top will just be icing on the cake.

JAde, thanks for this very clear video, it adds greatly to other demos as Loopop's. I was wondering about the pitch, does it affect the length, and what's the quality like when you pitch full down or up. Does it sound digital, or is it 'Paul stretch like' smooth?

Just came back to this video for a different reason... A used WMD Metron has popped up in my local market, and I'm thinking it might be a great addition to my drum case, then I see you using it with Bitbox... Bingo. Grids and Euclidean Circles with the Erica LXR, Metron with Bitbox, with some logic/delay/switching modules in the mix, and there's pretty much nowhere the drums can't go. Now I just ned to sit on a street corner with a sign that reads "Need extra HP."

So the Bitbox Micro actually doesn't have any alternative firmwares, but you do get the MIDI IN/OUT in comparison with the MKii. Both awesome devices, which one would you opt for?

Great video, i love mine. I do believe you cannot load the toolbox firmware on this hardware as it is different. The toolbox hardware is only compatible with the laser firmware and vice versa.
