It's always made me laugh the debate over A and B. It's honestly pretty simple. A means "After bite" and B means "Before bitten". When Jadis has both Neegan and Gabe tied up and is getting ready to trade them to the CRM she tells them they are As. And if you remember when they are tied up she is about to force a tied up walker to bite them, making them an A (after bitten). Which also falls in line with As being tested on because once they are bitten that's when they have experiments done on them. Then with Rick she keeps telling them he is an A cause she was planning on doing that trick where she ties him up and has a walker bite him, but then that doesn't happen so she tells the CRM she has a B to trade (Before bitten), but he is strong... so there you go everyone, that is the definition of an A and a B. It's funny to me how many people havent figure that out when I figured that out literally within 1 episode of when the terms were first mentioned. I have even posted this fact on videos like this for the last 5 years or so, and people still don't understand lol.
Jumped in the comments to say I found Lucille to be vital to Negan’s character from his introduction, specifically the barbed wire. The barbed wire serves to keep the person on the other side of it from grabbing it defensively to protect themselves or disarm. But we all know Walkers don’t engage in that way; from its introduction, it suggests he spends his time brutalizing living survivors, not Walkers.
In fact, if used on walkers, all that the barbed wire would likely mean is that it would be much more likely to become snagged in any clothing that the walker may have, possibly entangling it and making it difficult to use for follow up swings on that walker, or others.
Imagine meeting an alpha male like Rick grimes then finding out there was another guy that literally tried to steal his wife and family . It would be like meeting Brock lesner then he tells you a story about the guy that bullied him in his home town . Haha
It's funny because in the comics, you have a bit where Lori is laughing at the prison where she says, "I just can't take it seriously when calling them 'zombies'."
How I understand the bites in TWD is as follows: A bite doesn’t spread the infection, everyone already has the virus. The bite is essentially the final nail in the coffin, bringing on symptoms that eventually result in death
Yeah. I've heard it explained as: The bite doesn't cause the infection, but causes the ACTIVE virus to enter the system, rather than the dormant version we all have in us. That or, y'know, bitten/scratched by a rotting corpse which is likely carrying awful amounts of germs. But the first one makes sense with how uniform the symptoms after a bite are. The second one would be a toss-up as to what symptoms you experience and wouldn't necessarily be fatal unless it was a 100% fatal infection.
I think the bite causes an infection which through traveling in the blood causes death . Kind of like how a rusty nail the wound won’t cause you to bleed out but if untreated the infection traveling through the blood stream will cause you to have chills a fever and can’t cause heart problems, brain swelling and lock up your nervous system . I think you dye to the fever or infection and then turn because we are all carriers
@@pelicanofpunishment6 I figured it was like tetanus you dye from the fever and infection in your blood . Breathing issues heart issues brain swelling etc not from the puncture from the nail in your foot . Kinda like we all have had cavities 🦷 and that won’t kill you but if it gets into your blood steam it can cause heart attacks and high spikes fevers . That’s what kills you not the cavity it’s self
I always looked at it as 2 viruses. 1 is a quickly killing flu type virus that spreads through bodily fluids. The other is an airborne virus that brings you back from the dead.
Ive been an unstable viewer of the channel for about a year now the voices are getting louder, and watching your editing skills grow is pretty cool to see! Great video. the voices are telling me to type this

Steel sling shot balls are referred to as 'bullets' in old warfare and could dent or hole metal armor or helmets, like they had archers, they had 'slingers'.
Sling shots can break bones so why not in a world where you can push a 6 inch x 2 inch thick knife through a skull with out even swinging it you just put the tip and push 😂😂😂😂
Great video, I would love it if you'd make a video about all the callbacks in TWD. Like when Glenn said "We don't burn our dead, we bury them." in S1 and Gregory saying "We don't bury our dead, we burn them" to Glenn's grave in Hilltop in S7.
Barbed wire wrap around a bat would definitely make a difference, its like a combination of blunt force trauma with puncture ability from the wire and the drag effect of wire dragging along skin would tear it open.
It would also likely result in the barbed wire becoming snagged in the clothing of the target more often and slowing down follow up swings. its actually a pretty bad idea. Notice that no weapons looking like it seem to have been in common use for any military throughout history.
Shane was the shows best villain because not only was he right but he didnt have any crazy ideas like the governor or Alpha. he was just trying to keep himself and the ones he cared about alive. He is in my opinion the best written villain ever,
@daverobson3084 All right, so that was inexcusable, but a lot of his actions could be seen as him trying to do what he thought was right to keep him and his loved ones alive. But also that's just my personal opinion.
Absolutely respect how you've turned your love of The Walking Dead into way to create content for others. I wish I had that sort of ingenuity and creativity.
Bro, your analysis of this show is the best I've ever seen and it's mind blowing. I thoroughly enjoy your content and i damn near break my phone screen and finger clicking on your videos when i see a new upload lol. People who have abandoned this show completely would definitely become a fan all over again due to your deep dive, theories, recaps and overall awesome explanations of the show in it's entirety. I've talked too much already. I'm basically saying you're amazing brother🤗🤗🤗. Much respect.
I like to think Shane is like the original concept for the zombies map Tranzit. It had amazing ideas but it was to much for its time😂😂. But for real this was a good video, I enjoyed how you explored everything from the weapons and viability over time to the CRM and Variants. Also webisodes one of which I liked was “red machete” also the games which I gotta shout out my boy Lee🙌🙌🙌.
Crazy to see how far you've come I've been watching since the video on how Rick became worse than Shane video and it's insane to see 100k love everything that's come out and am looking forward to more
He didn't, and revolver speed loaders are not very common in many areas. Semi autos would still be faster, with the added benefit that its easier to slip a few snare magazines into your jean pockets than to do so with speed loaders. Its heavy( though that somehow doesn't seem to stop the tiny Judith from one handed firing it to bullseye moving walkers in the skull at over a hundred feet ). Low magazine capacity( six rounds vs the typical 10-12-15 for semi autos). .357 ammo not as common as 9mm, .38, .32, or 12 g shotgun rounds. Sure, you can use .38 in most .357 pistols, but, then, why not use a .38 pistol. All of those calibers are perfectly effective on walkers. If you are trying to intimidate a human( or blow a fist sized exit wound out their back) it gets top points. On the up side, revolvers are typically easier to maintain than semi autos, and, in a reality like they live in, being easier to maintain is a plus.
Damn this was an absolute BANGER I’ve been watching u over a year now and so happy to see you hit 100k don’t know how you don’t have more keep up the good work love u man
A slingshot could kill a living human being, let alone a decayed walker. I collect guns, bows and stuff like that including 2 slingshots cuz why not. They’re far more powerful than you’d think , especially if you haven’t used a high quality one.
@@mistasomen i mean like as in someone could get one, underestimate the power of it, and get someone or themself hurt yk lol and im sure its probably happened before
How come none of the Walkers ever seem to be devoured down to a skeleton? What makes them stop feeding on any given human turned Walker before that occurs? There's no apparent reason Walkers would stop feeding on a human victim at their moment of death because Walkers have also been known to feed on humans & animals that were already dead.
This was originally planned to be Lori's death in the show she was supposed to be picked clean in a matter of hours by the fat walker , but they deemed it too much for audiences so I guess it's inferred that the walker ate the bones too before Rick killed it.
I think you're under-estimating the power of a slingshot with steel bearings as ammo lol. Slings used to be a weapon of war used against living people wearing armor, and ammo is virtually everywhere. Also the Barbed wire on Lucille is for brutality and shock value on his victims, not necessarily because it makes it more deadly
It really is amazing that Rick kept his moral code after everything they went through. Herschel was such a gift to him. Rick did learn that Shane was right about the world but he never came close to being a villain. He never went out of his way to kill anyone that did pose a threat to him and his family. Not even when he went after the saviors. People love pretending that Rick and Negan were equally bad but that’s people trying to feel good about liking a tyrant.
I really want to make a fan anthologies series following a group of survivors through their journey in this universe. I'd want to set it here in Arkansas and call it "TWD Diamond State"
Great TWD content I definitely appreciate long format material. I listen all day at work and usually have a playlist with bunch of your stuff on repeat to help sleep as I do have a squirrel brain.
The big problem here is the military bombing everything so staying in your house with your basement full of guns and your canned food isn’t an option. What cracks me up is that guy living in his cabin in season 3 that was so far out in the sticks that he didn’t even realise civilisation had collapsed as he threatened to call the police when Rick and his band of crazies broke in.
I love your channel!! The Walking Dead has gotten me through many surgeries and I haven’t been disappointed yet. It’s always interesting to hear your views on the show. I also love The Talking Dead. Your summary is always spot-on and your videos of the show and flashbacks are so appreciated!! Thanks so much! It’s like having another favorite series for me.
Fantastic video, and i am someone who has watched the main series and read the books many times. To condense it all down into a less than hour long video is awesome.
That was absolutely amazing! I loved the format and you really do have the best videos on TWD! You absolutely nail it every single video! Thank you so much for all your hard work on this! I really cannot get enough of your content! I work in film and your skills are so impressive! They keep getting better and better! ❤❤❤
would you watch the first 3 seasons of Fear? it's a common consensus that the first 3 seasons are amazing, and it's basically a separate show from seasons 4 onwards
7:37 you got me good thrifty. i thought i finally found something you said incorrect, wondering "what about crm? surely he couldnt have forgot that" low and behold you had a plan for it. your script quality has increased so much dude
Great video, as usual. It doesn't matter how much I already know, or how many times I've re-watched, I always enjoy listening to your analysis and opinions and revisiting all the episodes you cover. I'd say yes to more field guides for sure -- they could dig into more specific themes, places, connections, and characters. I'd watch them all. Thank you for all your work.
Shane’s shotgun makes the most sense. Extremely versatile. You can hunt squirrel with bird shot or a deer with a slug. Also people. And you can reload a shells with stuff other than lead if need be lol
Other up sides. 1-Buckshot spread makes head shots more likely. 2-Plentiful ammo( shotguns are everywhere). 3-Relatively easy to maintain. 4-You can blow out locks with it with relative ease. 5-Powerful. Even if you just hit a walker( or anyone else) in the leg, you very likely take the leg off/ make it useless. On the other hand, they are loud as hell and have low ammo capacity.
whisperers are the best villains by far, and actually there is an answer for the variants, angela kang has said that the variants are regional, so during the final part of s11 they had just entered into ohio
just when i thought my day couldnt get any better, thrifty uploads an hour long video 😩💕 and congrats on 100k!!! thats an amazing accomplishment thats been a long time coming with great content like yours
The barbed wire on Neegan's bat would actually probably just make it more likely to become entangled in an opponents clothing, meaning it would get snagged and be difficult to recover much more than a regular, unmodified , baseball bat.
I don’t usually comment on yt videos but i want you to know that I appreciate you doing all these TWD related videos. They’re very informative and it helped me, a new fan, understand the show! I just started and finished the TWD main show last year, and since I lived outside the US, no one in my circle understand my love for this show but since i found your channel, it gives me chance to interact with other ppl who likes the same show and have different views. Thank you for doing all of this ❤️
Dude....fkin bravo!!! I love that you showed the medieval elements in later seasons. I keep seeing people saying "the show got terrible after season _" but they never made it past the time jump. I personally believe thats where the real stories lie. The adapting more so than the fighting. Bonus if it's multiple years after the fall
47:23 wasnt it confirmed that A means after bitten and B means before bitten? It would make sense that all A‘s become test subjects and B‘s go into that centre for reformation
This was truly amazing and informative. Really helped me get excited for Feb 25th. I can’t wait for The Ones Who Live, I can feel in my heart a fire and a passion for this show that I truly haven’t felt since Rick left. The Walking Dead is BACK!!!
@12:26 wow for some reason this really struck me with just how integral Morgan really was from just a single episode of season 1. Morgan’s choice to save Rick (in an attempt to set a good example for his son) made an impact on the show that would span 11 seasons and change countless characters lives. Just wow 🥹
Absolutely fantastic video! So well put together. I can’t entirely remember if you have or not but have you ever done ranking videos? Seasons/episodes/characters etc
The scale of the universe and even events within the main TV is very big! Beth and Tyreese die before the group even leave Georgia, and a full season before Jesus and the Hilltop are introduced.
Great video, so much detail. I'm getting hyped for TWD Destinies and this definitely got me thinking about a few different early season character choices
Even though I've played through all the tt games, watched the whole show and I'm very deep into the comics, this was still a fun watch. I love the first two seasons of Telltale's TWD with all my heart (s3 sucked and michonne and TFS were pretty solid) and Id be ecstatic to see any content on those or maybe even the comics, also Id 100% love watching a Cloverfield-guide 😂🔥
The weapons thing always gets me. I'm a moderately enthusiastic firearms hobbyist and i have 1-2k rounds of ammo and around ten firearms. There are more serious enthusiasts all around me who own ten times that much, and i live in blue city on the West Coast. Im sure Georgia has a modern militaries' worth of ammo stored up and completely lootable.
small note: the group didn't walk from Georgia to Virginia: after Beth dies, Noah tells Rick that he and Beth were gonna go to Noah's home, just outside Richmond, Virginia. In S5E9 they drive there.
I feel like I could write a 500 page dissertation on Shane Walsh, I don't feel that way about any of the other villains in the show. As much as I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I feel as though the weighted his first few episodes so heavily, that he was never a believable villain. Shane, however, was right on almost everything he said or did. He was a dick about it. But he was still right. He was so realistic, and grounded.
I don't know if he touches on this in the video, I haven't watched fully yet.. edit, he totally covers this lol But a comparison to how Shane was with Lori, and how Rick is with Jessie would be a great topic. Everyone always hates on Shane for that particular thing, and it makes sense from an outside perspective. Not many seem to notice that Rick was doing the same thing with Jessie, to the point of schwacking her husband if I recall. They're not so different in the end.
I love your content man!!! Your love for season 6 mirrors mine! You appreciate the fine things of the universe. You’re the best twd content creator I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching twd content since season 4! Good stuff!!!!
well there is a crossover series planned by scott gimple in the near future to end all the spinoffs and it will be like an ACTUAL conclusion to the walking dead
Man, I dare anyone to find a more comprehensive TWD show video on RU-vid! This was a recap, iceberg, and TWD 101 video all wrapped in one! And the chapters?!? 🤌🏾 Bravo, Thrifty!! 👏🏾
I'd like to add a point of clarification. What we refer to as the wild fire virus, isn't what kills you. It has one function and only one function. The reanimation of a dead person. What kills you is a secondary virus. All zombies MUST carry another sibling virus that is transmitted through bite. Thats what causes the fever and kills you. If it was the wildfire virus killing people, there wouldn't any non zombies left if everyone is infected. The wild fire virus lays dormant in everyone. It doesn't matter if it's stated in the show, the show exists within our universe adhearing to its rules and the only way for turning post bite to work is a sister virus. The issue that arrises is how is it transmitted. In 99% of cases its just by bite, many cast members have gotten zombie blood in a wound, yet during the hilltop attack by the saviors that rule is broken as zombie blood tainted weapons is how they infect multiple people with the virus. I choose to assume that there must have been saliva mixed in and the viral load needed is fairly low. As if that wasn't the case every single character we love would have been infected long ago.
