After finding 42g of gold nuggets in just a couple of hours in Tasmania's bush it's time to get back into the location again regardless of the poor weather being against me.
This time I take in my eldest son for an overnight winter camp out. The hike into the area challenging, with steep inclines and dense vegetation. The land transforms as we venture deeper into the bush, leaving behind the noise of civilisation for the tranquility of nature.
After spending a good part of the day getting to the location we set up camp by the river and set out detecting some of the nearby creeks.
Evening falls and we share a hot cooked meal by a crackling fire. The flames casting a warm glow on or faces we anticipate what the following day will bring for us as we set out early to recover more gold.
The next morning we set out with detectors sniping gear and determination to commence work and unknowingly break another gold nugget record!!
