It's another cold, wet day in North Carolina but thankfully we have the Balance warehouse to keep us skating. Last week I upgraded the mini ramp to allow for skating ledges on the flat and this week I've trying different grind box configurations to practice skating ledges again.

I haven't done really high rails, but 2 things that help my confidence on any rail: 1) make sure the rail doesn't move (or barely). Rails can be nerve-racking enough, but the added caution of not trusting the solidity of something you're throwing your whole weight on adds a whole other layer of trepidation that can linger even when you KNOW the rail is solid. And I heard this somewhere but 2) Imagine the rail is just the edge of an invisible ledge. Look to the far side and just picture or tell yourself there's a flat surface there and you'll think less about it being narrow. (This works better if you follow the first tip obviously).

I too will be skating again. I’m 44 now and I hope I don’t hurt myself. I was fortunate to never break/fracture any bones back in the late ‘90s. Wish me luck.

@@BacktoBlading Different subject but I think it is relevant. 1 of the things that is really cool is how rollerblading impacts culture & its trends. 1 of such trend that I have recently found out is the integration of rollerblade wheels into office chairs. Have not seen any rollerblade youtubers talk about this so I thought I would bring it to your attention. Have a Blessed day.

Just getting back onto my skates after 15-20 years off them so I’m loving your content. A suggestion if I may: add rubber cut from sheets to the bottom of the feet/supports on the rail. We’ve done that to our ramps/rails/boxes to prevent sliding.

That makes sense. I'm in the same boat as you. Turned 40 last year. My oldest daughter ( almost six ) just got a pair skates. So I'm getting back into it. I almost bought skates ten years ago after going to the skating rink with my neices. They were shocked I knew how to skate lol.

@@I_like_turtles_67 I actually did the same at my nieces birthday party. None of my kids were born when I was playing hockey. They didn’t even know I had roller hockey and ice hockey skates. 😂

@CoreyHendo I have roller warehouse close enough to try on some skates. I had oxygen argon 1.1 as first aggressive skates. Before that it was some big five cheap skates. I threw grind plates on and anti rockers. Like most kids.
