As a Beijinger I just want to say that your video is fantastic! Qianmen and Gulou are my favourite places in Beijing and a lot of locals go there quite often. These are really the best places in Beijing and they are so unique! Thank you for sharing and thank you for your brilliant interpretation : )
Thank you so much that means a lot coming from a Beijinger! They are my favourite places too, especially Gulou we are always in that area! I'm really happy you enjoyed it!
I love watching your videos about China. I feel I see a world the West doesn't show me, and people totally misunderstand the country and what it has to offer. I can't wait to be there September 2021!
Beijing is safe, clean, efficient, and not very expensive. I think Spring and Fall are the best time to visit. Summer is stifling hot and humid and winter can be cold and windy. Go to Temple of Heaven early to see the hundreds of seniors doing their dancing, exercising, singing, or just having a great time with other seniors. Signs are mostly bilingual.
As a local born n raised Beijinger, I 200% recommend all the places you mentioned in the vid, ahhhhh it surely included all the local and tourist spot for travelers, Imma definitely send it to my bf lololol
I love Beijing Parkview Green (北京侨福芳草地).This is my fav mall in beijing.Almost like an art gallery. Amazed with so many art-creative around the mall. The architecture of the mall was so unique...nice....Recommend you to visit it!!!
Hi Nico, My wife and I watched the raising of the Chinese flag , one very early morning. How amazing. If you haven't watched it for real yet, I strongly suggest you do. Need to get there super early, like 2 hours before sunrise, to get to the front of the barriers. Graham.
Very informative video Nico . Always love the quality of your videos and this one doesn’t disappoint Been in China nearly 3 years myself but still haven’t been to Beijing 😲 hopefully will get the opportunity to travel there soon especially after seeing this video .
Great vid, Nico! You might have forgotten one thing or two: BJ offers a wide range of world-class museums too: Chinese history , culture, traditional & contemporary art, military, aerospace, etc... BJ also hosts some of the largest zoos in the world.
Great video! I’ve been to Beijing 15 times since 1992 and had witnessed the incredible changes! My favorite city in China for sure, offering the old and the new! Hope to visit yet again in the near future. Thanks again for the memories!
I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos, they’re so lovely to watch ❤️ Great Wall fresh was such a good add to the list! I hope I can go there sometime soon.
The Hostels in China are so beautiful. So much character and comfort. Love the hostels in Beijing (courtyards). But my best hostel choice is in Shenzhen at the Loft.
Yes we love staying in hostels we actually included one but it had shut down recently so we had to take it out. I will check that out if we go back to Shenzhen.
Wow! Thank you for such a great video showing my home city! Beijing is where you can never get bored! I’ve never finished exploring it! It’s just like living in the history and making its new chapter along with the other people in the city. Hope I can be back very soon. Also, the national museum, the capital museum and some other kinds of museum are the places that travelers often forget. But if you want to get a really deeper look, don’t miss the museums! Especially the national museum next to the TianAnMen square, it’s Huge! There are always some temporary exhibitions in the Forbidden City as well
Hello nico, greetings.. I just watch your videos based on youtube recommendation and simply don't regret it at all. I find ur videos entertaining to watch, easy to understand, and lots of instagrammable shot. Keep up the good work..👍🏻✌
My parent worked in Hongqiao Market from 90s to 00s. we lived in a Hutong nearby. Unforgettable beautiful memory, I really miss my old Beijing, especially the streets in the night!
Did I mention that I would love to go the most populous capital city in the world, let alone the world's most populous country, and one of the greatest countries in the world? I'm sure I did.
@@zeldamachina6305 im local Beijinger, but tokyo has more people lol. but thank you for liking it, wish that u had a pleasant journey and welcome back at anytime.
A Chinese watching travel guide of Beijing 😂Thank you for the wonderful suggestions!Next time I going back home will go these places, really want to try the MUJI hotel.
Born and raised in Beijing, my favorite place in Beijing is actually the National Library of China. You can google (sorry, bing) the picture of it. Reading for a whole day in that library feels soooo good. But you can't bring your own book though. Laptop and notebooks are fine. Strongly recommend! Especially in the lowest level where the study desks are surrounded by ancient Chinese literature. There is a sense of solemnity. Studying and reading feel holy.
Great video guys. I think the best duck in beijng is liqun roast duck. I have tried a lot of them over the past 9 years. I have never tried the ones you guys recommend so when I get back to Beijing i will have to try.
Thanks a lot! We've not been there yet but I have heard of it before. Jingzun is really popular as it's really well priced and close to Sanlitun. Still waiting for someone to treat me to Da Dong haha
Amazing footages! I should admit that timelapse method is the right perfect filter for the video of the Chinese crowd, but YMMV if you are in those crowds in person. Great guide for Beijing! Thanks again!
welcome to beijing (even-though im saying this late haha), and thank you for liking and promoting this city. wish u enjoy your life here. btw, your guide is amazing!!!
thank you Nico to introduce my hometown Beijing! Besides famously Great Wall and the Forbidden City, there's really so much to see in this ancient city, waiting you to discover. I'm making some cycling vlog rencently, it's inspired by you channel. so thx again nico!
wow, Nico, you are really a Beijinger. I visited Beijing many times and I love this city (rich history and so big and so many places to go). Your tips are really great for visitors. Panjia Yuan is great place to order glasses. Cheap and very good quality!
i thought i missed my weekly dose of happiness and possibility this week from monday...and turns out its refined product is waiting to be released. very nice
My favorite The great wall of china...i just watched a movie with the same name and yes i enjoyed it...i the thought the birds nest was demolished already, well i'm wrong ..
22 million people is so crazy. I live in New Zealand which has 5 million people total. I've been stuck in traffic for an hour in my city which only has a quarter of a million people lol.
Btw some bonus tips for young travellers if you wanna save a few bucks: Beijing, as well as many major Chinese cities, have loads and loads of Hostelling International accredited youth hostels where you can benefit from your membership if you are used with European or commonwealth countries XD love from 北京. ❤
Hahaha.....must say this is one of the most sassy (and may I say, sexy too?) encapsulation of Being in 9 mins! Breathtaking pictures and videos to titillate and entertain to boot! TQ Nico & Partner!
It really surprised me that you mentioned Beibingyang drink in your video. I only leanet about this drink after I moved out of China. You sure devoted lots effords in making the video. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been to Beijing last year and I wish this video existed back then, I loved it!! Could you please make more of this kind of videos about other Chinese cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing ecc...?
hahah sorry! It took a few years in the making haha We have a similar ish one already for Shenzhen but we will certainly be making one soon when we head to Chongqing.
Nico you're a true expert of having fun in Beijing...How did you find out the skyway on the Bird's Nest!!! I've been to the Bird's Nest twice (and that was during the Olympics) and even I didn't know how to get on top of it!!! Dang I miss Beijing so much...
