I drink many of these herbs regularly already, but realizing how much herb is needed to actually make it a nourishing tea was surprising. Another takeaway was her giving "permission" to add a bit of honey to make it more palatable as we get used to the strength of flavor (yes, nettle, I am referring to you 😉). There are so many takeaways - this is a treasure trove of knowledge. Thank you, Brighid and HerbRally for this super gem.

First off I want to say what an amazing teacher! You were very easy to follow along with and explained in such great depth and detail that I actually felt not rushed and like I learned so much! My own personal top takeaway would have to be that Nourishing Herbal Infusions are actually cheaper than buying vegetables and buying supplements. I would have assumed they’d end up more expensive, but it’s so helpful to know that now I have an affordable way to get all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients I need! I loved learning about these different herbs you talked about. I personally can’t wait to try out the Stinging Nettle, Oatstraw, Red Clover Blossom, Astragalus, and Chickweed. I’m also excited to use Comfrey during pregnancy in the future since I’m worried about tearing and am also prone to stretchmarks. Of your top ten takeaways, I really loved how you said it’s better to work a mile deep and an inch wide with learning about these herbs. You emphasized that we don’t need to learn all about 200 herbs, but that learning deeply and thoroughly about some of them will get you further in your herbalism journey and help you build a true relationship with the plant. Thank you for this wonderful lesson, I feel inspired in my health and healing journey and really want to get back into learning all about Herbalism. 🖤

Thank you Brighid! My biggest takeaway from this is that you've written a book, and have a podcast which I'll be checking out this week!! Also this was great confirmation and instructions for the making of nourishing herbal infusions and why to use them. I learned this from Susun Weed in the 1980's and have been drinking them (nettle, oat straw, red clover, violet, comfrey leaf, and linden flower) ever since!! I drink about a quart a day and take no supplements. They have nourished me through pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and now my elder years.

I’m not understanding how to use multiple herbs. If I want to use nettle and oat straw, do I make separate infusions or can I combine them in one? If separate, then when/how do I consume? Drink both within a day? Alternate days? Do you recommend the entire quart in one day? I’ve been using 1 cup oat straw per quart, and drinking about 2 cups per day. So the quart lasts 2 days. I understand you say to measure out 1 oz per quart…are you also saying to consume the entire quart in one day? I want to add nettle. Can I combine nettle with oat straw in one quart, or do I need to make a separate infusion for each? Then do I drink both infusions in one day, or on subsequent days? Thanks for your guidance here.
