I would add as a loadout idea; grapple hook, bow, sonar grenade, dart tracking and goo grenade. (Storage; snipe, LH1, thermal bore and whatever you want.) That loadout feel good to play, because you give enemies positions with the sonar grenade and dart tracking, making safe zone or some good angle to shot with the goo grenade and been almost not be spotted by an enemy. Please write your review about this loadout, I’m pretty curious 😁

You can also replace goo with smoke, works nicely in combo with sonar and smoke revives

Your spotter/sniper loadout looks interesting, amd I love grapple/bow a lot. Not sure I've got the idea behind goo, maybe just for some cover and safe revives

Personally I just never use grapple, dash is just always better imo

Hey am a fellow bow enjoyer as well (Lvl 6, soon 7 probably) and used to 1-trick Hanzo in early Overwatch when he was considered a trollpick and usually played in Mid-GM/Top 500. (got 3 bow-videos already on my channel) I almost always play the same loadout (Frags-Stun-Sonar) and always with Dash. My takes on the gadgets are: Frags - People will hide behind cover a lot, frags push them away from those spots and a 130 Frag+full charge bodyshot can instantly delete a full hp medium. Pairs well with Sonar. Stun - Must have imo. Reason one are bows bad TTKs and DPS. You cant break shield fast and you cant kill someone stealing fast. Maybe not as important for TA. Reason two "sometimes its just better to shoot your bow". After every arrow you shoot is a short delay till your next arrow starts to charge and in that timeframe you do literally nothing. My bread-and-butter combo is a high charge arrow into an instant stun the moment i let go of M1 into multiple partial charged arrows. Pure nightmare for heavies and strong as opener as well as self-defense to turn around a 1v1. Sonar - Pairs well with frags, good team utility. Most importantly it makes pre-firing someone whos pushing you really easy and will lead to many free kills. You are getting pushed by a heavy lets say in a room with only 1 box in the middle. Drop sonar and just stay on the opposite side of the box (or whatever you have as cover) than the heavy while you charge an arrow, once charged u walk into him, shoot+qm+dash so u end up on the other site again, charge the next arrow or drop another sonar if needed. Rinse and repeat.

Awesome video, as always. Do want to say that "Partial Charge" is a little ambiguous and probably could be better refined to help new archers out. Personally, I noted the position of the arrowhead relative to the bow's riser to help create a visual "charge meter". From there, you can kind of show a 25%, 50%, and 75% shot and it also helps new players start learning how to intuitively gauge their shots. With both the default and battlepass skins, you can also use the fletching as a quick indicator for when you have a mostly charged shot as well. Once it's off screen (from standing), that shot can one-tap headshot a light, though the amount of damage on that timing can be screwed up, leaving the target with 1hp - it's namely a marker for learning the feel. As a hopeless Grapple Enthusiast, I do want to say that the spec is more versatile than getting high ground and shooting. It pairs surprisingly well with even SMGs and other close quarters gear, but emphasizes more of the hit-and-run identity of light. I use it as a general outmaneuvering tool. This is outside the scope of a bow video, however, as it's more just general specialization mastery. There's some gadgets I think were done dirty too, so just to put my two cents in... Smokes excel at closing off angles. If we take an exposed position like a rooftop, instead of popping smoke on yourself, tossing smokes to your side or behind allows your to be relatively safe from those angles. Likewise, we can pop smokes into areas and take shots into them, further making the bow's silent nature even more deadly. While defending any objective, this usually allows us to freely pick off enemies inside smoke without much risk of return fire. Glad you touched on Glitch Grenade. It's a must-have for weapons that excel with bursts of damage like the Sniper and the Bow. However, when taking it for Dome, specifically, Gas is also a reasonable substitute. The tradeoff is that it's susceptible to a pyro counter unless you mix Smoke into it. Relative to the bow, this lets you maintain a damage output while dealing with the dome; it's lingering effect also makes it difficult to simply smack another dome onto. I still prefer Glitch of the two, though. Breach Charges have one benefit over the Thermal Bore which is keeping your angle of approach masked. Most opponents will react to the explosion and making the use of the remote detonation aspect of it really aids in creating a distraction to get some cheeky bow hits in. Flashbangs are incredibly versatile as an option. You can use them for soft intel, for mobility/disengage/engage, but - and this is probably really important for the bow - also can be used as an HP reveal. It's a decent gadget that excels as a multi-tool, but I think that it depends on what the player values as options to bring to the table. I think having limited charges in TA makes it kind of harder to use and I'd rather suggest a different equipment that has higher value per charge.

I think encouraging people to stare at their bow while playing is a bad habit to form and isn't healthy yo learning it, you will intuitively get it there isnt a trick here Also i did say adapt it to your own playstyle, but I don't think id change my opinion on any gadgets here, stuff like flashbang and smoke are just bad picks imo, especially if u cant make full use out of their utility

@@Appoh Oh no, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying to stare at your bow while playing. However, everyone learns differently and I’ve always felt that telling something that it’s just something they “get” over time doesn’t actually teach them anything. Instead, if they really want to get good with the bow via minimum draw kill shots, it’s beneficial to set them up in the range and teach them general breakpoints. This gives the ability to get a feel for the timing first and foremost with a visual aid. You develop muscle memory and good form before all else. This is, surprisingly, reflected in archery as well. You teach general form by setting up their grip, their stance, and their anchor point. You teach them what a good release should feel like (there are training exercises and equipment you can do to simulate a release) so that they don’t pluck their string. Once they get basic form down, then you worry about hitting your target, adjusting your aim, and further refining your form/technique. Yes, you can intuitively learn the timing by playtime, but a newbie’s learning process is going to be drastically improved when you give them the tools and something to compare their results to. As far as gadgets are concerned, I just wanted to add some insight from someone who actually uses the gadgets and bothered to do extensive testing. They have their downsides and their nuance, but they do have their place. It’s absolutely fine for you to not see their value because every player values different things in their kit. I strongly prefer to be able to outmaneuver opponents with flexible options and my kit reflects that. Other players like more direct, bang-for-your-buck equipment and that’s fine.

To add a, hopefully, more generally applicable example… How did you learn to type? For me, I was taught the keyboard layout and hand positioning first. I was told it was okay to look at the keys, but would want to not use that as a crutch. As I got more comfortable with the layout of the keyboard, I gradually looked less at my keyboard and the muscle memory goes from there. I could improve my speed and accuracy without worrying about basic keystroke problems. My advice to players picking up the bow is much the same. There is a method you can use to learn the timing for differently powered shots. It starts with a visual aid, but that’s only in place to give an understanding of when to release - over time, you will learn through muscle memory. Learning how to shoot differently powered shots comes before combos with different powered shots.

@@VozmezdieSoldier I'd compare it to a mouse, you don't have to l;ook at your mouse to know where to aim, it's intuitive. I'm just saying if the advice uses a bad habit then I'd recommend against it
@VozmezdieSoldier
@VozmezdieSoldier 4 месяца назад
@@Appoh Where’s the learning curve of pointing your mouse to aim? You pick it up and can generally begin right away. Developing good mouse control comes after, but it’s easy to understand that moving your mouse right rotates your view right. On the other hand, what of the learning curve of the recurve bow? To get a minimum draw time kill shot, you would need to know when to release during your draw as well as be able to sight read the opponent’s HP bar. Yes, you -can- intuit how much damage per shot you will deal. Yes, you will naturally get a feel for it over time. … But why is someone who spent a lot of time learning and mastering the weapon telling people who want to learn the equivalent of “Just use it and it’ll come to you”? Again, props for the video. There’s a wealth of information otherwise that I’m sure many a new players picking up the bow will appreciate. That aside, I would like you to elaborate on why you believe this method of learning develops a bad habit. The process would be would be placing your crosshair on target in the range before looking to your bow. Draw, release, and see how much damage that deals. Repeat as necessary to get a feel for the length of time as well as moving your attention to the target. The methodology is similar to learning to type.

What's your opinion on SH1900? Is it a viable weapon after the buff? Would you run it with cloak or dash? I feel like you have to play it as sword in order to be more effective so i prefeer dash because you can get in close fast and escape after the kill or missed shots

I've found that I mostly play around full cloak (standing still) with vanish bomb nowadays You can also mantle while cloaked and it's completely silent Something I don't think you mentioned is that you can actually slide and jump while charging up a shot if you time it well after releasing a shot - this helps if you're wanting to conserve dashes or if you're just out of dashes

I'm watching the Seoul double stack clip review and All I see is blind luck, his tactics have barely any significance on the outcome. They get wiped at the end of the clip and lose a cashbox worth of money.

Thats because we dont care, after the wipe we are atill first place and have enough time to control the match. We were triple light just goofin around. Not sure what about that was dumb luck, the timing and decision making throughout it led to a victory
