Colin and Julia - with the help of Autumn and Kiara - battle over which huge Lego set is better: Rivendell or Hogwarts. #lego #legoharrypotter #lordoftherings #afol
As an owner of both, the details and colors of rivendell far outstrip Hogwarts dull color palette of beige gray and brown. Although Hogwarts is a gorgeous display piece in its entirety, rivendell is an explosion of compact details and beautiful colors
Great matchup video! Love the idea. By the way even at microfig scale Hogwarts isn’t even complete, it’s only half the castle from the movies. I hope one day they release the second half.
Thanks! That's true - there are some things missing from Hogwarts, but there are a ton of scenes you can play out and there are a ton of small details throughout that reference various parts of the movies.
Rivendell is by far better. The color palette of the hogwarts is just awful, and I’m a Lego castle fan… the sand tones of the Rivendell colors are just majestic😍 not even mentioning the amazing techniques and angles incorporated into Rivendell
@@YankeeDoodles they can't make it minifigure size. I would buy a $3000 set. Same with burps, it it was all brick built it would rase the price. For the color that's out of lego hands the castle was tan in the movies.... would star wars fans like at pink at-at or a blue falcon
I certainly understand where you're coming from. I (Colin) prefer Rivendell. Yet, in some ways, Hogwarts does have more to offer in terms of seeing so many of the important aspects of Harry Potter. In the end, it was a tougher choice than I thought it would be!
We are fans of bricks and we like HP and LTR. We refused to spend the 500 for the Hogwarts-Castle. Too expensive for our Hobby in our opinion. And it was too big for us, no place for displaying it. But now, Rivendell... we were'nt able to resist. Since last weekend it is waiting for building. Although we have to find the right place.... we will find it. Thank you for he review. Greetings from Germany.
If you are fan of either franchise you will buy respective set. If you are not a fan of either and looking for a display value I would go for Rivendell set. BUT if you are not a fan of either and looking for a display AND PLAY feature I would go for Castle 10305 set, as I did. I will eventually buy Rivendell, because I'm a huge fan of the book, but for Hogwarts I have no interest whatsoever.
