My 2 cents... 1 Start In new Halas /Frostfang Sea. too much to explain ..just do it. 2 Get harvesting quest isle of Mara 3 Do the crafting quest timeline it offers great rewards as well as the rare harvests to make expert stuff. Can easily make 8 slot bags to get yourself started and you WILL need the space. 4 Get your merc it makes a big difference. 5 The Timorous area will/should get you your early gear just by doing the quests. Do a bit of research to see what dungeons are doable with you and Merc albeit these will typically have group strength mobs but can be done if very careful or join a group that is already there. 6 No real right or wrong but there are heritage quests and they offer status points you can choose to do later via mentoring /self mentoring if planning on joining a guild or do them as soon as you can around level 14-18 I think is the first ones. 7 Oh I forgot and perhaps number 1 get yourself the EQ2 mod I think it's called EQ2map as it will load all kinds of info onto your map.
Agnostics are kinda fun and kinda quick but they can get quite boring quite quickly. I timed a Crypt of Valdoon run on my Fury with a Troub merc and I came out around 21 mins. Crypt of Valdoon is good to start with.
Yes the AA bar will take some xp and put it in AA all depends where you put the slider but if F2p you can't move it.Leveling too fast can be a bummer because once grayed out the mobs won't drop items that might be handy like a weapon or armor and or you will simply bypass a dungeon because your too high a level.
Story time: I raided in EQ1 from right before kunark up until OoW expac. WoW n EQ2 released a couple of months later and they released like a week or 2 apart. Half of my eq guild went to eq 2, the other half went to wow lol. I picked up both, getting the CE edition of EQ and the regular edition for wow. I played both for a few months, but WoW won out in the end. I've been back to eq2 numerous times, but I've never gotten to the endgame content, just leveling toons to max and then getting frustrated lol. I've been raid leading in wow now for years and i need a break and want a semi-casual change. Nostalgia got the better of me and i reinstalled eq 1n 2. Going to see if i can make it to the raid content lol. Couple of questions though: Server suggestions for endgame pve guilds? Any discord servers that would be beneficial in getting acclimated to endgame shinnanigans? Thanks for these vids, man, there are few resources on youtube it seems for current eq2 content. Also, if anyone has suggestions for other eq2 content creators, I'd love ro head about them.
did i make a mistake going evil 😭 seems all the guides i find encourage good to be the better leveling experience. my poor shadow knight is stuck with all bright red quests. i'm trying to figure out what mistake i made :(((
You absolutely did not :) The evil side is also SUPER good. Especially if you do the Darkmoone Faire starting area (I may have messed the spelling on that up), and Freeport in general. All those old quests hold up REALLY well.
Hey great videos, these are preparing me for my EQ2 journey. Going to join the live servers first, then maybe hop in later to an origin or progression server. I am curious how much of a grind is EQ2? I don't have as much time as I did in the past for gaming but I got 1-2 solid hours every night. With questing, for 2 hours every night, does that get you around 1 level per 2 hr session or so? Thanks!
@@Renfail Cool good to know! I just want to experience the game and zones completely. Then once I feel more comfortable might jump into the progression ones and try some grouping too! Thanks for the videos!
Hi have just started playing eq2 with a few friends. My problem is the opposite I'm leveling to quickly is there away to reduce xp so I level more slowly?
You can simply turn your exp off entirely OR you can adjust the Alternate Advancement rate up to 100% (the default is 50% to AA and 50% to your leveling) so you earn all of your exp towards AA.
so druids/wizards arent neccessay any😮more to get around? i also watched your solo class thingie. im defintey a melee.player. what are youre thoughts on monk, or troubador? also as far as solo, what classes solo well but will also be highly sought after for grouping?
