As an Indian, although I have never eaten Mexican in my life, that food still looks delicious. Probably one of the only countries other than India that knows how to use spices properly! (Looking at you England!!) Love from India! 🥘
I love Mexico! I am Indonesian living in Japan, since my first visit to Mexico I am in Love and often go to Mexico Restaurant here. I love the food and it's culture! sorry for my bad English. メキシコ🇲🇽のこと大好き!また行きたいわ!🎉
The tortilla is one of the things that make the difference, but at home you can make them as we do in Mexico, we use the usual at home: avocado, beans, salsa, meat, fish. More simple ingredients
@@toolrammsteindeftones As a Mexican living in LA, I noted a different flavor too in taco places run by Mexicans and the truth is that many restaurants are adapted to USA natives taste, the best way to try something close to Mexican food is @street food taquerias or some food truck too.
2:45 Good morning, I am Japanese, I have been living in Mexico for 12 years and this Mexican, believe me, if he knows where I take them to eat, he is a connoisseur of food. I live right there in the Narvarte neighborhood, 3 blocks from these tacos where there is a mechanical workshop and I have already tried all the tacos that appear in this video I love them all ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
Mexico has one of the largest Lebanese 🇱🇧 communities outside of Lebanon. They arrived in the late 1800s. Intricate part of our Mexican culture. Salma Hayek, Capulina, Mauricio Garces, Carlos Slim…..just to name a few.
Great food tour in Mexico City. Your food guide, Jorge, from Bondabu Tours is great too. I never realized how fascinating Mexico is. I live on the Gulf of Mexico and did not know how little I knew about Mexico and the Mexican culture. After taking us through Mexico City, a lot of people say that San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato are two must -see cities in Mexico.
@@SammyandTommy I love living along the Gulf of Mexico. Houston, Texas is a major seaport and all seaports are highly cosmopolitan. Oh, yea, we love Mexican food too.
@bodvargregsen5161 ----- I lived for a number of years in Guanajuato and it is one of the most interesting places in Mexico or anywhere in North America. The narrow streets have the feel of a city in Andalusia (southern Spain). Highly recommended. San Miguel de Allende is a much smaller place and personally have never found it to be as interesting a Guanajuato, but it's nearby so easy to visit. In between the two cities is a town called Dolores Hidalgo, it's notable as the birthplace of the Mexican Independence movement from Spain.
Oaxaca imo is much nicer than both San Miguel and Guanajuato. San Miguel is kinda small. Guanajuato is a really beautiful city. Merida is also a nice city to visit and it’s in the gulf. If you’re in Mexico City there’s also Taxco and Puebla that you can take a bus ride to.
Well done, to anyone else planning a trip, don't overlook street food quesadillas with corn fungus huitlacoche and epazote herb filling. Worth the trip.
If I'm not wrong the reason why they called Gringa is because years ago an American woman asked for a taco but she wants flour tortilla instead of corn and she wants queso, and she asked for the same taco almost everyday and taqueros started to called the tacos gringas.
So not fair, my wife said I was getting steak tacos for dinner tonight I was thinking all day about them, then we ran late on chores, I got leftovers, turn on the TV and here you guys are salting my wounds! 😉
Sammy and Tommy, I'm from northern Mexico, The state of Sonora, and we have crunchy tacos, which don't have them in the south, they are the best, filled with meat, potatoes, then deep fry, and the tortilla gets very crunchy, then you fill them with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, pico de gallo and guacamole, also we have the carne azada burritos, are made on a giant flour tortilla, fill carne azada, refried beans, roasted onions and guacamole.
I just started this video, so perhaps you've already tried it, but you have to try cajeta (goat's milk caramel). It's a wonder unto itself, much like mole (which is the BOMB). I first tried cajeta when I was in DF.
Great Video and a great guide for a real test of tacos in Mexico City, On all visits you are always very welcome and enjoy our food and culture, remember being Mexican is an attitude, as we say in Mexico, the Mexican is born where the Mexican wants.
There's an urban legend about the gringas. An American tourist asked for a flour tortilla with meat and cheese in it. Other patrons saw it and ask for "whatever the gringa is eating" and thus the gringa was born.
@@kevinmills1041 are you absolutely certain of their origin? Maybe you should read my comment again. Clearly you’re not familiar with the concept of “urban legend”.
New subscriber here, your videos are a delight to watch! Thank you for capturing the beautiful essence of Mexico! As a Mexican it makes me very happy when others enjoy our country, God bless you 🙏🏼
I knew Los Tacos Tony because they became very famous on television since they did a joke show with a very famous person, Mr. FACUNDO, and he portrayed an angry salesman. curious fact
@Sammy and Tommy the people on the south in the 90s cooked the meat with grilled onion 🌰 and no freshn onion ! So tacos in the north were cooked very differently the south copied the north !! 🤔
The main difference is the tortilla. While in the center and south we use the corn made one, in the north they use almost only flour tortilla. Also they use different ingredients, like shrimps, fish…
@@colgatetoothpaste4865your totally wrong, I don’t want to contradict you, but no one’s copy anyone, we have so many diversity of food, and every state is different, hope you don’t get offended, don’t criticize let’s enjoy our food, and all people around the world, welcome to Mexico.
