MEXICO IS COUNTRY #24 (!!!!!). This was our very first time in Mexico City, and we hit the ground running with a thorough food tour, trying 15 different Mexican foods in less than 24 hours. 😁 That night was the fullest our stomachs have ever felt, and Claire unfortunately got a pretty severe allergic reaction to the pulque (cross-contamination from pine nuts in the pulqueria) after we ended the video. 😮💨 Despite all that, WE REGRET NOTHING! 😂 Everything was absolutely delicious. Have you tried any of these Mexican foods, and if so, what’s your favorite? 🇲🇽
Hi there, How are you both? If you do not mind me sharing; a well-planned, organic and unrefined plant-based diet (consuming edible raw plant foods where possible so as not to denature enzymatic activities beneficial to the human system. If disagreeing on this matter, please try planting some steamed carrots and see if they will grow; if they fail to, it is because they are 'dead' plant food that cannot fully nourish one's 'living' cells) consisting of organic fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains is the best diet to provide mankind with ultimate health and longevity. These foods, fresh and grown in rich soil, are found all the essential vitamins, calcium, carbohydrates, fats, fibre, minerals, protein and water needed to make good blood and enjoy health. Please avoid meat alternatives that contain harmful preservatives and additives e.g vinegar, a corrosive agent. Food toxicity and nutrient deficiency (e.g white bread, white rice and white sugar) are a deadly combination as one is hindering the body's building materials needed to action healing whilst at the same time taxing the system with more damaging toxic things, thus bringing about disease and possibly even an early death. GOD Bless 💙💙💙
Welcome to Mexico 🇲🇽!I'm a Mexican living in Michigan and it's the first time I've watched your videos and I've already subscribed, Enjoy my beautiful and beloved Mexico!! Regards
About dipping the churros: there's this culinary habit in Mexico of "chopear", which means dipping the sweet snacks (usually small pastries, bread or cookies) into your beverage like coffee, chocolate, milk, atole, etc. That's why it's more usual to dip the churros in a chocolate beverage, as the thicker chocolate is nor very usual (that's considered more gourmet or at least it's not a mexican thing)
What a fun tour! Mexico City is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to....just the landscape; the physical mentality of smiles, singing and approachability of people; the cafes, the nightclubs, the architecture/museums, the churches...just the elegance of aged settlement. I live for tostadas, tacos, burritos...in that order. 😊 Thanks for the tour...and the realived memories of my favorite city! 🖐 Wisconsin says hi, Claire and Chad!
Que padre que puedan, visitar nuestro país y aprender sobre la cultura mexicana, y que disfruten de la buena y rica comida que tenemos en nuestro hermoso país, me alegra que les guste...
LOVED this food tour! Y’all tried some of our favorites (like al pastor) and gave us new ideas for next time 😍 Can’t wait to see more of your Mexico series!
When we got a little taste of YOUR al pastor tacos back in December, we KNEW we had to fly to Mexico to delight in it every day. 🤭 We didn’t even know it existed until you made it for us!!! Thank you for introducing wonderful foods to you! 😁💖
I just came home from CDMX last night. We had a great time and the city is filled with so many options. I'll take note of this great tour for my next visit!!
I love how you guys went to the right places in the downtown, I can tell you made a thorough research. I really loved this content and how you gave a really good idea of the real Mexican cuisine. Thank you.
Thanks so much for sharing! I was looking forward to this next video. You both complement each other really well in presentation and commentary. I've watched 90% of your content and think you do a great job! 😁
WHOA- 90%!!! That blows my mind! 🥹🤭 Thank you so much for watching and for being a part of our adventure ✨virtually✨. This comment means the world to us both! 🥰💘
The food looked delicious and appetizing. If the food is as tempting as lt looks, then I cannot wait to see what the rest of Mexico City holds for the tourist.
There are ENDLESS things to do in Mexico City, and we are very excited to share the next few videos with you. 💘 We’ve got some fun, silly, and epic videos coming your way! 😁🥰
The original mole rojo had over fifty ingredients including nuts, chiles, chocolate, spices, corn, stale bread, crackers and whatever else the nuns found in the pantry.
I really love you came to Mexico and enjoy the food, is so delicious. I believe you went to really pricy stops, maybe safer for the tummy if you are not used to spicy/condimented food. Hope you keep enjoying your trip and the glorious mexican cuisine 🎉
Great video, loved the content, even as a vegetarian.. The lilac flowers, come from the Jacaranda tree, truly beautiful in CDMX, the churros can be eaten however you like…
Wow- thank you so much for watching!!! 💖 We will have to try a vegetarian Mexican food tour next time! 🤭😁 And thanks for letting us know about the churros! We shall eat them free of debate next time 😂😂😂
We are so grateful to have had the chance to experience CDMX!!! 🇲🇽 It’s such a fascinating place! If we ever find ourselves back in Colombia again, we will definitely reach out! How cool it is that you live there now! 😍 Great hearing from you, Kai! 💖
So glad you're food touring CDMX, so sorry about the allergic reaction you had to experience. Claire, I like your yellow hobo-style bag. It looks light weight for travel. Where did you get it? Will continue viewing & enjoying your videos.
Woo, you guys are in my home country! I'm excited to see your experiences ☺ Team horchata over here! I would recommend trying strawberry horchata, it's so delicious. 😋
I definitely think you ordered a champurrado which is a Mexican hot chocolate. Which can also be used to dip your churros but traditionally, it’s a drink.
Thank you for watching!!! 💖 It definitely has gotten a bit more expensive- we visited a different region of Mexico in 2019, and the prices have certainly gone up by 2024. It seems like everywhere is getting a little more expensive year after year hahaha.
Thank you for the research. Will be going to CDMX in a few weeks. How did you research the restaurants? Did you need reservations? What area did you stay in Mexico?
Spoiler alert! You can dip ANYTHING in the hot chocolate haha ok ok not everything BUT another amazing thing to dunk in the hot chocolate is the conchas you guys had 😭 I love that you guys made this video. As a Mexican myself, I love our culture but especially our food! Mole is top 3 dish for me, it’s so goooood! Also, I looove ceviche but some of the best I’ve had was Peruvian ceviche
Hot Chocolate with churros would be more of a breakfast food while churros with dipping chocolate would be a dessert. In Pujol Mex Restaurant they a mother mole that's been going for 150 days. It's like a sourdough starter that if you keep feeding it it will last forever. As a finisher, they give you a large circle of mother mole with a younger mole in the centre and tortillas to dip.
Wow- good ear!!! 🤭🤭 You’re correct! We did indeed adopt another dog! 😁 His name is Geppetto, and he’s an absolute goofball and the best little brother to Gretel! If you want to see a picture of him, you can look for it under the “About” section of our website!!! 💘🐶 We’ll have a video about him this summer! 🥳
Concha is the predecessor of pineapple bun. According Wiki, "In the 1940s a family named the Ng family, who had been among those deported during the war, opened their own restaurant in Hong Kong. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Mexican pastry known as a concha, they decided to create their own version with a slight twist. This unique variation came to be known as pineapple buns or Ba Lo Bao, despite not containing any actual pineapple as an ingredient."
In your chapters you have "alma central", it is called Alameda Central. "Conai", what is that? El morro is ok, El Cardai is wrong, it is El Cardenal. Then Pia, it is Pulquería. You did the chapters drunk.
Yes! Mexico City was such a beautiful place for a food tour, and the cuisine was simply exquisite! 😋 Thank you so much for watching and for leaving such a kind comment! 💖
Hey love the videos can you go to Haiti and try the food please if you can of course heads up get a guide because a lot of Haiti is covered in gang territory a lot of family members have died because of that so stay safe and first
We would absolutely love to visit Haiti one day and try the cuisine! 🇭🇹 Thank you for the tip- we will keep that in mind whenever we travel there in the future! 💕
I would LIKE to say that they are made with filtered water, because they were never served with ice, and we felt completely fine after drinking it. However, we can’t confirm that! Our stomachs might be made of steel at this point, after eating so many mystery foods around the world haha 😂, but I also suffer from GI related issues and had no problem! 💖 Hope this helps! 🥰
