Dawg this is why ion like ash winning. It was the cheapest victory bc its more realistic that him being younger can’t win bc his Pokemon don’t have the battle experience compared to someone 8 or 10 years older than him bc someone at 23 should be by Pokemon logic a higher ranking due to being able to battle longer
They took the best characters (Iris, N, Cheren, Bianca and Alder) and either turned them into complete jokes, made them boring, or they hardly got any screentime at all! Fuck this anime!
@@ceecee6521 especially Alder. He could've been a great teacher for ash especially after that embarrassment at Nimbasa with only bringing 1 goddamn mon to a 3v3. The black and white anime will forever be non canon to me. Sinnoh ash was great and I say he skipped unova and went straight to Kalos.
@@jameswebb8274 That leaves us with some problems tho. Without Pansy/Alexa Satoshi/Ash wouldn’t have went to Kalos, and he would’ve probably never be disappointed with the fact he couldn’t battle Iris in the masters 8. And that scene where Ash said he used Dent’s/Cilan’s lure instead of Kasumi’s/Misty’s wouldn’t be correct anymore. And the specials where Takeshi/Brock meets Cilan and he met Citron/Clemont and Eureka/Bonnie in Kalos wouldn’t mean much anymore.
It seems to be a pattern. He does bad in the odd gens, but good in the even ones (he cheated his way to the Alola cup, that shit ain't counting for nothing)
@@pickedceasar1216in the anime moves like sleep powder = win but in the alola cup rowlet was literally asleep but they said normally this would be a loss but… let’s allow it just this once!
@@doom7607 eh the anime has always been inconsistent about status effects Plus if that were the case all of the time then people wouldn’t be allowed to switch between Pokémon that are asleep or use sleep moves which have all happened in other episodes
Funny how Cilian mentions how "Stefan has prepared Zebstrika with a variety of moves to counter ground types", only to reveal Zebstrika has four normal type moves for all of its attacks.
The definitely ‘worst’ Pokémon season is IN BETWEEN the BEST series (DP & XY(Z)). I don’t hate BW, i actually like it. The rivals are fun and lively. Though i don’t know if i can consider the BW rivals as strong, not talking about Virgil. Except for Shootie/Trip. Trip just sucks. Overall i think BW is an okay season. It’s just that i dislike the battles and the way they did Satoshi/Ash so dirty.
Assuming you're talking about his league battles there's more layers to the sandwich than that. Indigo league; Ash is on fire; Hoenn League; Ash is on fire; Best Wishes; Ash is on Fire
Ash can easily be described like this: Kanto and Johto: Ash is a new trainer, managing to scrape by thanks to luck or circumstances. Hoenn: Ash has a brain tumor Sinnoh: Ash had the brain tumor removed and can now think incredibly clearly. Unova: Turns out there was a second brain tumor, MUCH WORSE than the original Kalos: Ash got the second tumor removed and he feels ALIVE Alola: Taking a vacation Galar: Back from his vacation, now he wants to really WIN
I think I was more mad for Trip than anybody else cuz he was the only character putting up good numbers and battles. I'd smack talk Ash too if I found out his water-type can't even open its eyes underwater 😂
Yeah I'll praise the gen 5 games til the sun explodes, but the anime yeah I don't what the hell was going on in the writing room at that time but I'm guessing large amounts of weed was involved
Ash vs Trip has to be the most anticlimactic rival battle in the series. Like, how could they think a 1v1 (not even a well written one) would suffice as their final battle.
Since Trip is more of a smug level head logic thinking kinda trainer/rival, the writers seem to have no idea what to do with him and just wanna get of him as soon as possible.
I choose to believe that the entirety of Best Wishes was just Ash having been tagged by a stray Dark Void during his battle with Tobias, and he's just unconscious on the side of the field having one long nightmare.
I hate BW Ash so much, it doesn't help they visibly made him look younger, shorter, and removed his maturity. In DP he feels like a teenager maybe 14/15, but seasoned from years of travel and league circuits, he can be a bit hotheaded or immature but he is a far step from his kanto self and he has the more mature clothing, not the oversized little kid hoodie that's so bright and artificial looking, he has the lanky look, and he's got experience in mentoring people and knows a fair deal about training pokemon and helps younger trainers out. In BW he looks, acts, and feels like his kanto self if he never even went to a gym battle before.
@@natalimoina those are literally facts. Pokemon BW was a soft reboot for the show. They retconned stuff. There are times in previous seasons when they literally said 'years' have passed. He and pikachu literally had a 1 year anniversary celebration at the end of the indigo league. During the battle frontier when he called for his old squad to reunite he literally said "all those years ago"; but then somehow they said he was still 10 at the start of black and white. Plus the creators LITERALLY said it was a soft reboot. You're just an L fanboy who thinks Pokemon can somehow do no wrong to the point that you can't even accept obvious facts. Gen 5 as a whole was a soft reboot, even the games, that's why they made so many new pokemon that generation and none of the old ones appeared at all in the first black and white games until the post game. That's why Unova had so many pokemon that were so similar to old ones, because they were meant to be direct replacements for them. In the anime they literally made Ash forget type match ups are a thing. He didn't know that he was supposed to weaken a pokemon before he tried to catch it. So wtf is he wrong about?
What i love most about the Pokemon anime is that we would absolutely steamroll the competition if were were somehow isekaid into the world. Imagine a major tournament where the contestants use fking riolu, oshawatt, and pignite. 😂
Nah ime telling y'all you would be cooked if you were in the anime that shit ain't turned base no more and eggs are going to take like 2 weeks to hatch so no perfect ivs for you and the crazy thing is ivs dont even exist but ain't gonna lie we would probably make it to the league if we where isekai'd
No bro we’d be fucking COOKED. Ash will pull out some of the dumbest anime logic shit we’d never see coming and then that perfectly IV bred/hypertrained and EV-trained Dragapult is done for.
Bro imagine EV training amd everything. 2 starter pokemon and 4 Pseudo legendaries just for Ash to pull a "power of friendship" BS and defeating your whole team. Thunderbolting your Torterra and shit.
Cameron was a moron. Brought 5 Pokémon to a 6v6, and threw 2 of them away. So it was really only 3v6. And Ash STILL lost. Remember in Kanto when it was actually required to have 6 Pokémon to even register.
Remember that Ash's team was so weak that against Roxie, iirc he nearly threw a 3v6, so him actually losing a 3v6 would match that team's strength. The team was like, Pikachu and Krookodile and a bunch of fodder.
Because they try and do this like soft reset to ash just look at how the show starts. There like look it’s just ash in Kanto he’s a new trainer going on vacation with his mom and professor. Like he doesn’t even reference anybody unlike the other seasons
What I really like about Ash in this season is how he constantly impresses adults with his tenacity and his naive optimism. Some other aspects of him I’ll cringe at any day, but I love seeing how adult characters will tell him he can’t do something, only to succeed in the end and surprise everyone. That kind of writing carried into later seasons which I admire. In one of my favourite episodes, A Restoration Confrontation, Ferris still has that optimism and succeeds in restoring the fossil of (and later saving) his childhood friend. Wish he was given better battle writing though… I can’t remember too many notable battles from this season.
Honestly based on how incompetent Ash was in Unova for no reason and the best trainers around were Stephan and Cameron. Id say Tripp was justified; id be annoyed as well. Unfortunately his character was walmart Paul, Paul would have been Unova's Champion for sure. Then again maybe Ash lacked so bad cause he didnt have a good rival top push him.
Paul would've stomped the Unova league with one of his powerhouse pokémon, be it the Ursaring, Electivire, Magmortar, Torterra, Honchkrow or Drapion. @@axelmok4_channel391
They should just have made Ash beat Tobias and get a new trainer in Unova, an older one with a younger sidekick to both appeal to new younger viewers and people who grew up with the series. Instead of the butchering travesty they did with Ash.@@Warlord_Megatron
I'm pretty sure black and white was intended to be a soft reboot of the original series, that's why Ash was so Naive in this version of himself,I just consider this filler and pretend this never happened
Just found your videos and they’re all good! This one came on and your making references the recent NBA games and I had to check when you released and it was yesterday and I was surprised lol anyways good job bro hope you keep making these or anything id watch it!
After gen 4, this weird thing happened where Ash's battling performance improved drastically the worse the mainline games were. Unfortunately for him, the BW games were goated.
Black and White was my introduction to both the anime AND Pokémon as a whole. It’s very nostalgic even if it’s lower in quality than the other seasons.
When a character makes a bunch of mistakes and is laughed at, we're told he's a joke When said character beats our hero, we're told he's worse than a joke
Yeah, and people always try to use the excuse that Zekrom took it's electric powers away. Like, why tf would Pikachu even need it's electric attacks against that? It still had iron tail and quick attack, and grass types resist electric types anyway so what does it matter? Pikachu should have been able to tank or dodge anything that Snivy threw at him, and one shot it with even just quick attack
