yes. yes. YES. I have 20 years of homemaking under my belt. I get asked all the time HOW I know how to do so much, or how I get so much done. 20 YEARS worth of practice & practice makes perfect. I only added one skill in at a time. I only grew one tiny garden plot at a time - adding footage each year. I only added one livestock variety at a time. I only had added one KID at a time. & I do everything with a plan & one DAY at a TIME. My husband has just celebrated 22 years sober. In his home group they have a saying ....K.I.S.S. = "Keep It Simple Stupid" (might sound rude, but..) If you don't keep it simple, at least to start out, you are setting yourself up for failure. Once a few failures take place, humans have a hard time resetting. I also try to remember that God does not lay troubles at my feet, I am perfectly adept at heaping them upon my own head. If I am lazy & neglect chores, I have harder work the next time. If I do shoddy work, things break or need to be redone. If I don't take care of myself, I get laid up & nothing gets done, etc...I see too many moms go in with very unrealistic expectations about how MUCH they are going to get done in a day when there are children needing care & attention, too. Things do need to get done, just plan smaller. I do believe kids need to learn to self comfort & self entertain, but the biggest reason most moms want to quit their job is to be there for their kids. (Training your kids to self entertain would go a long way in lessening the stress) There should be dedicated time during your days to just forget about the chores & just be present with your family. Otherwise? Why in the heck are you doing it? On the flip side, I have seen mothers turn their children into idols & they accomplish nothing within the home & end up with very unhappy spouses who come home & suddenly are responsible for making dinner or tidying up. Balance. SAHMs need to learn balance, above all. Break everything up into small tasks. Don't tackle a room, clean out a drawer. Don't weed the whole 1/4 acre garden, weed & harvest a row. Get a schedule & routine going, don't sleep in - EVER - unless you are sick. Don't stay up late. Don't skip meals - eat all meals at a regular time. And get fresh air. every.single,day. Do NOT stay cooped up in your house. Take your kids places so they learn how to behave in myriad environments.

You make me feel so human! I love that I found you when I did.. Trauma is so darn hard to move through. I’m 52 and STILL working through mine.. I’ve been alone on my journey as a mother, homemaker, and teacher. But what a beautiful journey it has been…🙏🏼

Hey there! I am just a few years younger than I. I have been an orphan for 25 years. I had 7 kids, my second born has non-verbal autism. I have had little to no family support, tho my husband is the BEST. I also found I enjoy creating as an Artist / musician, prayer as a Traditional Catholic (when I settle down LOL). Love what this lady said..."I was judging a situation that was half finished." Yep, me in a nutshell! My journey has been fraught w bumps and bruises, but they couldn't' hold me down for the count... Still Standing, Dressed up and Showing ☝ for Life!!

I love your message! I didn’t become a mom until I was 40. I’m five years in and things are finally getting easier. I’m a SAH homeschooling mom and I love it, but there have been times when I just feel like one big failure. We recently moved onto 5 acres in the country and are slowly working on a homesteading lifestyle. I’ve learned so much from watching other homesteaders and homemakers. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom☺️

I find that in this community the hardest part is getting acceptance. We choose to not homeschool, and that makes many people legit angry. I would love if this weren't such an "all or nothing" thing. I'm still a good mom, and my children are still learning good skills, I promise ♥️

I am a 24 year old homemaking wife & mom! Got married at 19, started having babies at 21, and started staying home. Trying to learn and improve as much as I can but a lot of times I just feel like….this is impossibleee!! I really needed this. I think I just need to step back & focus on one thing at a time instead of trying to do it all at once….with kids! I am overwhelming myself. Thank you for this.

Thank you for sharing, SummerGirl! Yes, stepping back with a cup of tea, and just taking some time to focus on one thing at a time feels unproductive at first, but has a way of making one more effective and productive in the long run! I'm sure you are doing much better than you realize!

Oh you bless my heart! Every time I watch one of your videos, a sense of peace comes over me, I learn at LEAST one new tip on homeschool/homemaking life, and I usually shed a tear. Sometimes a regret tear, sometimes it’s the tears of relief at knowing what you taught me will be a boon, sometimes it’s just the cry of a tired woman who sees she’s not been alone through the tough seasons. You’re doing Kingdom work in these videos. Thank you for your gift and sacrifice. You help me know success is possible and that it looks different than I had imagined. I can see my idols in what I thought success looked like. Thanks, sister in Christ, for your lessons. Titus 2 RU-vid mama’s are the best! ❤❤❤

wasn't homeschooling and was NOT entertaining their kids in any way. My grandmothers had their hands full with whatever baby was in the house & the rest were sent out to play. by themselves. or with the neighbor kids. My father talks about growing up in the early 60s & they would 'disappear' all day - sledding, baseball, biking, etc...and as long as they came home by dinner, no one was looking for them! And by the 50s most mothers were NOT doing much home preserving. My other grandma talks about how it was much cheaper/readily available after WWII to just BUY canned goods, so she never bothered to learn canning. They were actually the beginning era of convenience! Unless you were a rural, somewhat poor farmwife, you were not doing those things. (& even them...my MIL raising kids in the 70s on a farm NEVER stayed home, she waitressed her whole life. She never canned or gardened & they ran a dairy farm. I have had to teach HER how to do much of this stuff)

Wow, you just made me cry. Overwhelm is an understatement. The deaths and destruction from the last couple years has left me, an only child, to manage all the aftermath. Plus shortages, inflation, income, charity work, trying to make an income, now holidays, DIY, homesteading, homemaking...well, you all know the drill. I'm not new to homemaking, just in one of those seasons. These are hard times. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really needed to hear this. 🙏✝♥

I have learned to say, "I just can't make that a priority right now or give it the adequate time it would require. Thank you for offering me that opportunity though. I appreciate you thinking of me." to events, obligations, requests, or new responsibility potentials that I cannot add to my schedule. It's such a better way of saying no. It's also important to recognize that you cannot do everything and you don't owe anyone an explanation or reason for not doing something/adding something to the schedule. Make your priority list and stick to it. Don't get distracted with pleasing others.

Just found your channel and subscribed. This is the only video I've watched so far, but I wanted to say thank you! The content of this is something the Lord has laid on my heart and I have wondered if there was an avenue for it on here or other social media. I have no experience with content creation, so I have no idea where to start 😂 But I have lots of experience in life, motherhood, trials, trauma, homeschooling, homemaking... I'd love nothing more than to use what the Lord has brought me through as a way to encourage others in the midst of all of life's hard. Thank you for standing in this gap and speaking truth

I appreciate you so much. So many homemaker and homeschooler influencers seem to come from strong, supportive families. I don’t have that, and I was also thrown into this thing after my business took a huge hit after being shut down in 2020, and then my son was diagnosed autistic and it was clear I would need to devote more time to to him and homeschool too. It’s felt like too much for sure but when I step back I can see how I’m growing even though it always feels like I’m failing.

Lovely message... my mum grew up in children homes and has such a difficult time with her life skills. Cooking, cleaning ect she just can't do. It's hard if these things are not shown when your young. I make sure I go to the store and pick up ingredients, home cook, do homes work, read and clean with my daughters. Then they will have the skills when they grow and will not be overwhelmed like my mother and myself.

It is a matter of perspective. Change "I have to" to "I get to". Sounds dumb, maybe, but it sure puts things in perspective! I don't want someone else cooking for my family or watching my kids. I took them out of school because I didn't like how (& what) others were teaching them. I don't want the grocery store providing most of my food. I don't HAVE to do any of these things - there are many other entities out there perfectly willing to do it for me. But at a cost (of which only you can be the judge if you want to 'pay' that cost). I GET to do these things to ensure the life that I feel we deserve. A life filled with JOY and self satisfaction. I GET to be (with God's amazing grace) the one who manufactures this! I GET to, I don't HAVE to.

These were great lessons to learn. I like multitasking. It is good to grow and learn things over time. I think most of us learn through experiences, becoming molded, and furthering our skills by practicing them. I am glad you have taught your children some of these skills you have. Your family seems wonderful. My middle child (who is nearly 15) helped me make dinner last night. He is really starting to love cooking lately. My grandmothers didn't know how to cook at all (and they were 1950s homemakers). My maternal grandmother worked a job. Both of my grandmothers were terrible mothers too. :: shrugs :: but I am sure there were wonderful hardworking 50s housewives. My mom's sister cooked for her and the rest of their siblings. My aunt truly is a great cook who went on to be a homemaker for her ten kids. Choosing joy is so important. You are not sounding like a broken record by quoting scriptures that speak truth.

Your videos are giving me such a fresh breathe, energy, more faith, and hope. I agree with the small steps, it seems that looking at the big picture is so helpful but really knowing that in the day to day everything is moving ahead weather you want it to or not. Stepping on little stepping stones to get across some rough waters really helps me. I get into my head and over think things but once I stop and can think a little clearly I know that just moving forward a little at a time helps my confidence. And that is something that I struggle with the most. It wasn't something that was nurtured when I was a child and I really have to work on it for myself. I am determined to do this so that my children see it, hear it, and feel it. Thank you for talking about the self care!!! The self care that you talk about it fundamental. I don't think that this is the same self care that is talked about in society. The way you talk about this is full of compassion, love, strength, and hope. I feel this is a way to show God that we as mothers are thankful of our talents and time. That we want and should care for ourselves in this way. Its also so important for our children to see this. The girls and boys. They need to see that mom is worth it, she is full of love, gentleness, patients, and so much more because she is being diligent to care for herself in a recharging way. Motherhood is hard, so hard in all kinds of ways. To be honest Its been an eye opening journey that I think I have learned the most in the last three years. This job shows me everyday what I need to bring to the Lord. He is one that I cling to now more than ever. But I was a toddler with all the seasons. Sitting in my poopy diaper (if you will). I needed to change my heart.

I always consider my time well spent if I can pick up at least one new, immediately implementable idea. Here's the one that resonated for me: As I'm watching the video, I can see that each piece of kitchen equipment, tools, containers and such; is perfect for reducing the time spent to do the work and ease your way. I'm still in the process of asking the best ways to do storage, the best use of space, the best tools and equipment I need; to perform the tasks I'm learning to do, right now. And you've reminded me that this is all part of the planning for a fruitful day's labor. So, note to self: Onward!

Very encouraging! It is so hard being patient with myself to get proficient at various tasks since I work outside the home full time and have a couple of neurodivergent kiddos. Thank you.

Wow! I'm 58 yes old and I've been there done that but you just opened my eyes to you saying "It's OK to take a minute to read a text it OK to say no its ok!!! I struggle with saying no because I tend to spread myself thin to make others happy and run after my own happiness. I grew up having loving grandmother's showing me the homemaking way but as I've got old I've lost the way but I know it's still in my heart. So here's to me finding my way ❤

This is just a PSA for anyone who has experience trauma and it feels like you are still trying to get past trauma, find a therapist trained in EMDR. It is a game changer- it is highly successful. As a therapist trained in EMDR I can tell you that people who have tried all the other types of therapy and are still having a hard time moving past it are legitimately healed through EMDR.

I love your channel. I ordered one of the knives from Japan for a gift. Can you tell me the name of your mandolin, and do you like it? I had a Pampered Chef, and I want a sharper one.

Thank you for ordering a knife, you're going to love it! The mandolin is an Oneida, I got it at Walmart 😊. I like it, it came with a glove and hand gaurd too.

This was the most encouraging thing I heard today. I am the stay at home, homeschooling mom of 6 children ages 9 down to 4 mo. And I struggle with feeling overwhelmed. I was not given any preparation for this type of life and feel like my household barely stays afloat most days. I feel like progressing in homemaking skills is so slow that my children are going to be grown and gone before I have any grasp in the way I need. Thank you for speaking into this and sharing what the Lord has taught you.

You are welcome, Dear. You are in a hard season right now with that many so young. Please give yourself grace and breaks in the day as you can.
