Re your John Lewis fabric, it should be 2.5 meters so you ought to be ok for your mimi G dress. Nice video, loved the fabric and pattern combinations.

I bought two meters and they cut it long so it came out to about 2.5 yards. But it’s wider then 60” so I’m optimistic 😉 glad that you enjoyed my fabric choices.

Congratulations on your engagement Toni! So happy for you and your fiancée! Your pattern haul is great and yes, I haul out my bins of fabric and it's like Christmas morning! Fabrics I've forgotten about and still love. My sister's stash is even more so. I've told her she could go shopping right in her sewing room and the guest room next to it! We love our fabrics and love sewing!❤

Aww thank you Patricia! It was quite the adventure organizing my fabric. I found some more for fall/winter sewing that will make an appearance towards the end of the year. How lucky that your sister loves sewing and fabric as much as you do ❤️

Ive gotten them for that price at Joann’s too, when they used to announce patterns sales in their flyers. The patterns at my local store are such a mess and most of the time they don’t have the ones I want. Shopping online is easier and less frustrating.

I just checked this out 2 weeks ago! I got 33 patterns for 80$!!! Some of these are 25$ patterns Holly crap! I made sure to get pretty generic skirt, skort dress, princess seam dress, pants, and sleep/lounge wear....OH MY GOSH! I'm just getting back into sewing after a 30-year hiatus, my daughter has such a hard time finding clothes to fit her size 16 body and size G cup bra

It is shocking how much you can save on patterns if you wait for a sale. And it also shows you the “list price” is ridiculously over priced. ‘Cause you know they’re still making money during a sale!! I’m so glad to hear your are getting back into sewing ❤️

Two quick questions--when you buy fabric for your stash (with no specific pattern in mind), how much do you buy? And who is the new little furry one exploring your sewing room? What did I miss?! 🙂

I buy 2 yards if it’s 60” wide and 2.5-3 if it’s 45” wide. But sometime I buy more if I like the fabric and it’s a good price. The little furry one is Minky; yes she’s named after the fabric. She’s the newest edition to the family. I got her in February from Save-A-Pet, my vet’s animal rescue charity. She’s just starting to explore the sewing room.

Do you have a video showing how you organized your fabric? I have spent the last three weeks organizing my sewing room. I just want to see if you have a better way to organize. I see you keep the cardboard to store some fabrics.

I get the cardboard bolts from Joann’s. They usually have a much at the cutting table and if you just ask they will give them to you for free. It’s saves them a trip to the dumpster behind the store 🤣

Oooh, I’d do the more solid diagonal stripe batik as the skirt part of the two piece top/skirt set. That’ll be a cool outfit!McCalls 8479 looks like it can’t make up its mind, lol. I guess you’d call it a cargo kilt??

That’s just what I was thinking! And then do the skirt with the other print. It’s either going to look great or completely crazy 🤣. And I think you’re right about the cargo kilt.
