The only reason why I got myself ps 2 was because cool and the gang wanted to watch dvds... But after s while you reclaim your PS2 alone time when it's bargain sales in actual dvd players.
I worked at Best Buy when the PS3 came out. I hooked up many future generations by telling their parents "this is actually the cheapest Bluray player out there."
Nobody. It came with a controller. They weren't stupid. And it was the best selling console of all time. Parents bought it for themselves too and you had to be living under a rock not to know what it was.
@@krykun7457 It's pretty good, if you like classic games. Battlefront II is fun, I also have Namco Museum 50th Anniversary (which is basically a ton of arcade games in your living room) you can find them in thrift stores/online really cheap, I got mine for $14. I didn't grow up with it, but I like it so far Edit: not really sure but I think you can also find PS2 games on the PS Store
Nintendo: "I wonder what will happen when I trigger Sony, I bet it wouldn't have any sales!🤣" Nintendo now: "Well here's the Switch! Don't worry it won't sell as much as the PS4...😥" *Physically cries in gpu performance...
Alright. Where should I start? PSP 1000 PSP 2000 PSP 3000 PSP Go Ps vita 1000 (fat) Ps vita 2000 (slim) Any colours allowed with console (Any I missed reply)
hainedubstep if you actually grew up with GTA 2 back in 1999 like I did , you would know it was one of the most fun games you could play , most people didn’t even get GTA 3 never mind GTA 2 lol people always be sucking on San Andreas dick
My personal pick is the PS3. To me it was absolutely mind blowing the fact that I could play PS1 and PS2 games, especially being able to play them online over WiFi. Also I loved how it had a Blue-Ray player and the ability to download Linux into it. You could also remote play with the PSP, download music, photos, movies heck you could even save all your saves from your PS1, PS2, and PSP games! The Xbox 360 was a great console but there is no denying how loaded with features the PS3 was. 🤘🤘
KidBoii the greatest selling console ever, multiple capabilities, legendary games, and online gameplay. Most systems now can’t do all that the ps2 did. It single handily destroyed the Dreamcast and sega in the console battle
While I was watching this, my mom was watching Netflix on the PS3. By the way, one of the most overlooked ps3 features is the PS3 Photo Gallery. It was a biiiig bummer that the PS4 removed such an incredible app. What it does is you connect your camera, pop in a flash drive, , slap in a SD or CF and the weird M card or put in a CD or DVD rom with pics, and view em’ in 3D. It’s sad that such a great app got overlooked. Hope they re add it to the PS5 and make it WAAAAAY better. Btw my mom is still watching NetFlix on my PS3.
Pooda Mahmoud just because he likes ps2 the most it doesn’t mean he’s old. I was born around the ps2 era and I loved the console yet I’m 14, so does that make me old?
The PS2 legitimately was a major reason why sports games on the 360/ps3 were handicapped at the time. I'd never heard a company actively talk about knee-capping their games like EA did in regards to its Madden series, but that just showed how much monetary power it still held even when we hit the early 2010's.
Back in the day, my parents bought a ps2 as a DVD player and considered the fact that it played games as kind of a bonus gimmick. I was one happy kid when they brought it home with 007 night fire and tony hawk pro skater.
😂 I ordered the online adapter for the PS2 from Japan before it came to the US just so I could play online games for the first time in my life...socom 1 and 2 were amazing first online games to get into back then
For playing games online my first console to play online was the original Xbox with Xbox Live my favorite game of all time to play online was Rainbow Six 3 loved that game still have it to.
And almost no one really got into net play because the cost for online play was (and still is if any developer keeps running their online game servers on this day) ridiculously high.
Dreamcast had it before, Xbox had it better and both were built in so hardly ahead of its time when it was behind others not a bad console though and Dreamcast had excellent online with dial up internet.
Alarm Raiser 555 agreed my top two consoles of this get is the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, the Xbox One is ok bust I like my exclusives and Halo hasn’t been doing so well.
Xbox has exclusives, (SOD2, SOT, Crackdown 3, Forza, Gears and Halo Infinite, Titanfall ,also you get the best looking games with the X. I play PC, Switch and Xbox, I just don't care to switch to ps bc Ill lose all my games and ill have to start over. and halo is doing good people still play halo 5,
OG PS3, it had access to three generations of PlayStation library's (PSone-PS3). It also supported dual booting Linux for a time letting you play a slew of other systems via emulation (2600-snes) on the very same system.
Shit, I got the Xbox 360 towards the tail end of that console generation and the Xbox One S shortly after the release. I never owned a PS2 or anything when I was a kid.
i got my first game console that was a ps2 slim for christmas in 2008 when i was 6 years old. my games were borrowed from my cousin. i had no games that i would have bought myself. the one game i think i played the most was buzzjunior robojam. then my cousin gave me kung fu panda the game and crash bandicoot wrath of cortex the platinum version.
It took me like up to 2009 before I got myself a ps3 off white slim version. I was too loyal to the PS2 and all its classics and the fact that I didn't want to part from my psone games just yet.
Zendo wow, that sucks. If my parents did that. I would report them because I bought my 2 consoles with my own money lol. Better get one now because PS2 has come to an end.
That or the stupid millennial upward inflection, like everything is a question? And even just a bit of vocal fry. 😒 But at least he's not going ahead and saying go ahead and... In every other damn sentence. Jesus people have no individuality, one person on RU-vid does it, then everybody adopts all their annoying speech habits.
The Nintendo wii, Nintendo DS series and ps2 were my first game consoles, they created a lot of memories. They got me into gaming/tech and now I’m building my first pc in a couple months I feel so grateful I live in this generation.
The original Playstation was a first for me as well. It was the first console that I purchased with my own money. I had just graduated from high school in 2000, and the college I was going to attend in the fall had a summer program to help high school graduates get use to college and at the end of the program we'd get a check for $800 if we successfully completed it. I completed the program, cashed my check, went to Toys R Us and purchased a PS1 with NBA Live 2000 and March Madness 2000.
Also PS Vita. The best handheld as far as backwards compatibility goes - plays PSP, PS1 games in addition to PS minis, PS Mobile, PS Vita games and some really good PS2 game ports (MGS, P4G, FF X/X2, God of War 1 & 2).
@@Articbear well, i live in India and there is no official Nintendo support in my country. But Sony is kind enough to not exclude Indian subcontinent countries and be an asshole like Nintendo. . Besides, the backwards compatibility that Vita has, makes the console worth: 1) 600+ PS1 games; 2) 800+ PSP titles; 3) more than 250 PS minis. . Oh, and all those games are buyable on PSN (some directly from console while some via PS3) even today, i.e., the store works pretty well for ps vita.
1:13 OMG same. My brother, cousin and I used to play Gran-Turismo 2 all the time! My uncle-in-law purchased the cheapest car and won a vital race, he was so happy when he did. RIP Mick!
You have to love the ps1, the first games I've played on that console were FF7 and RE2, I spended hundreds of hours playing FF7, FF8, FF9, Medievil, Crash 3, Silent Hill, MGS, Tekken 3, Tomb Raider II, Parasite Eve and so many others. The original PlayStation was the begining of many mythical games.
diegomireles niiice, that game is sooo worth it. It was like me and the game met by destiny, my dad takes me to a game shop when I was really young and was like what do u want. Didn’t take long for me to pick
Just pure nostalgia, this is man. No one can ever compare the feelings you get from hearing that PS1 Intro, and remembering your childhood, and the good times. Still glad I still have and play on my PS1, and PS2 till this day. Nothing will ever be like this, how I wish I could go back to the good old days. How time flies honestly. Let alone, next week on the 19th of April, I'll be 20. Still going strong in 2022, as I play these iconic PS1 games.

Força grande Porto, estou apaixonado Contigo eu vou a todo o lado.
Electronics For Fun my fav games are god of war both 1 and 2,MGS 3 snake eater,DBZ Budokai tenkaichi 3 I also didnt have much games I only have around 10-15 games..😅😅😥😥.I have been asking my parents for a long time for ps4 and psvita but they dont buy it for me...🐱😤😤😭
Honestly I think the PS3 for me personally was the one sony console that had the most boring exclusive games, main reason I waited until the console was around £50 and the games where next to nothing in price, but after buying a bunch of games i think i kept playing about 3 of them, but the PS2 i played almost daily.
Yes, All PS2 BC PS3 were fat, but not all Fat PS3s were PS2 BC. Check the CECH configuration, check USB ports, Check chrome finish, Check vent openings.
The ps2 probably was the best, had the best series of games (gta 3, vice city, san andreas for instance) and you could watch copied dvd's you got from a random Chinese person on it.
PS2 was really awesome at that time no other system had such high sales. I miss my ps2 unfortunately it broke on me, now the ps4 has games from the ps and ps2 reignited sypro and crash bandicoot those were my favorite to play. I had so many games on my ps2 it was so awesome for a really long time. I miss playing it.
@@FantazySimmer79 I still got one of the old launch models of PS2, i bought it like few days after launch in my local Auchan market. Its still alive, and that is quite impressive considering its almost 19 years old now =) [thou i had to admit - i took good care of it as i always do with my hardware, for example my mom still use my old pc from 2008, it sits on old E8400 cpu and GTX 260 from EVGA, im sure it will work just fine for many years as a spare media center]
One of Sony's greatest mistakes was letting GTA be able to go on other platforms. It was said prior to the PS3 Rockstar offered them exclusivity if Sony would give them some form of financial compensation. Nowadays, with how GTAV sold, that idea seems so far away. The money they made on that would've outstripped any benefits for Rockstar with that proposed deal.
if its a fat their is 2 main reasons for a disc read error first and most common in the early models is a dirty lock plate the lock plate is the little circular white plastic thing on the top side of the dvd drive you just open up your PS2 pull top off the dvd drive and clean it with a cloth what its function is it locks the dvd to the turntable with a magnet and if its dirty the disc will slip and not spin fast enough and drift when the drive stops to read the disc making the disc unreadable this was the one maintenance i did the most with all my friends fat PS2s and is easy to do the second and least common was a dirty laser and sometimes can be cleand with dvd cleaning disc but most the time needs to be manually cleaned with care
8:40 kind of, while the ps3 cpu was much better than the xbox 360's cpu the same goes for the xbox 360 gpu being much better than the ps3 gpu, microsoft use a largely better ATI gpu which at this point in time was ahead of NVIDA in performance, ofc the very next generation with Geforce 8000 nvidia absolutely blew ATI out of the water thanks to CUDA cores being invented and utilized in that line up, it should be noted though that the performance difference between the 360 XENOS and PS3 RSX wasnt nearly as large as the difference between the Ps3 CELL and the 360 xenon, and the CELL cpu game with graphical capability like MLAA and other post processing effects that made it so the Graphical side of the PS3 could play catch-up
Funnily enough just like the PS3 Cell processor, the Xboxs XENOS was unorthodox with weird features and design choices like eDram, and a few other things, although unlike the CELL processor Xenos like most gpus wasnt that hard to work with
