Correct but unfortunately this is the way of new coaches,their reason being football has evolved!,and further more the era of participation medals has to stop!

no ball contact in pre match? this is something like power train for legs (that is not a warm up)

Not everything has to be done with a ball. It is a warm up...Get the players muscles warm then you want to introduce a ball.
