If you can’t get it thick it’s because you’re not following the recipe correctly but condensed milk can help with that to get it thicker

So I'm upset. I found your recipe on Pinterest and it states 2 cans of evaporated milk and I just found this video and it should only be 1 can. Now my caramel is runny. That's a lot of wasted ingredients. I'm ticked.😢

If you make real caramel it does take a long time to cook on top of the stove. It has to caramelize and thicken up.
