The ULTIMATE Recap of Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII (RECAPitation)  

With this, I have recapped a lesser known but still canon entry in the World of FF7 universe, Before Crisis. Yet again, this highlights the story work FF7 needs to go through to sort out the retcons/plot holes present in the base game, or inconsistent with its expanded universe (i.e. we now have a 3rd version of how Nibelhiem went down). This video is unique, in which I did NOT play/record this game since it does not exist anywhere outside Japan, and thus big thanks for the FFVIIExcavation channel and their fan-translated playthrough. Damn. When I first played FF7, I thought AVALANCHE was just a small group. Turns out they were actually a pretty big deal. XD

Holy shit Before Crisis' story is amazing! It definitely needs a proper remake at some point, especially since it doesn't seem to get any recognition within FF7R!

bro this game would make an incredible 25 episode anime series. I cant believe this was all just a mobile game from pre 2005. this is crazy

Just so people know, there's a fan remake of the game out there made in RPG Maker.

I always wondered why they never bothered to re-release this title. It could be such an amazing mobile game in this day in age. Hell I'd even settle for a 13 to 15 episode animated series of it with a run time of 30 minutes each. This deserves to be brought back so at least the fans outside of Japan can experience it. Great video.

About the only thing I like about this is that they show a female of Red XIII's race. Finally makes sense of the ending of FF7 with him and the cubs. lol

It's a shame this game wasn't released this game in the US. Looks interesting to play, they should at least remade it to consoles. Also i want to know the whereabouts of Cissnei after Crisis Core, she was awesome or at least the other Turks that didn't appeared after this game

I remember seeing this when it came out in Japan and thinking to myself it'll be years before we get cell phones that cool, but when we do, Ill get this game first thing. That never happened. But watching the story telling side side with gameplay filled that gap.

I really think Fuhito was an illegitimate child of Hojo. They sorta look similar, are both mad scientists, Hojo always says kukuku, and Fuhito always says fufufu

I’m still a bit bitter that this game never released globally. Here’s a perfect game for Square to remake.

It does kind of detract from some of the mystery with FF7 and a bit of retconning, like Red XIII being the last of his species, the other Turk characters, and Rufus' strange trust of the Turks despite what they did to him.

This game should have been called Retconned Crisis: Final Fantasy 7. When a game spend more than 3/4 of its time retconning games that came before, thats when you know it shouldnt exist.

if looking chronologically the story is somewhat like RE3 with RE 2 it both happening at the same time as crisis core and Before crisis... switching from Before crisis as first then to crisis core and going back again in Before crisis

Always wanted to know more about The Turks. I remember I was hyped to get this on mobile but never came out. The intro of this game is fantastic! Anyways I wonder if we will ever see any more of the other members of The Turks? Just find it weird how they are still alive but have no mention of them in the later storyline.

Ok so I before today only knew about the main original game and advent children. And Today I have learned about Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and Now This. So ya thats a lot of info. In hindsight i am a Kingdom Hearts and Fate fan so not like this is the most complicated set of stories ive seen.

Looking forward to playing this game in Ever Crisis when it comes out, since Eveer Crisis is gone be the entire compilation of FF7 we will probably be getting this game *first* then Crisis core Then FF7 etc.

It is hard to tell if anything is cannon in ff7 as there are contradictions all over the place and the worse is before crisis.

This game is pretty damn expansive for 2005 on mobile. Really impressive. In 05 most phones had snake, or tetris lol

What the heck? I've never heard of this one! Mad props for branching into mobile games. Cloud indicated in FF7 that the Turks generally look for SOLDIER candidates. I'm glad the makers remembered this piece of canon that was otherwise never explored in FF7 originally. Also, AVALANCHE used to be quite a large group, eh? I guess the tattered pieces of it were picked up by Barret, or perhaps he was inspired by their example. Sighs. Nibelheim's story is muddy enough as it is. This third rehashing is getting old. And Kalm's destruction being 'covered up'? Shinra really is behind everything. I find it to be lazy storytelling. I love your summary, but I won't ever play this game. xD Great job on this RECAP, especially since you did not play the game yourself. And able to sabotage his plan to take down his father? @13:40 Or could it be sending Sephiroth to Nibelhim to find out about his own past which causes Sephiroth's own demise that was somewhat set up by Rufus?
