Great video! Thank you! I'm moving to Fort Wayne next week from Georgia. And, my main concern is winter and snow. Any tips for someone new? Do I need to get snow tires on my car?
@@LunasPanda Let me be the first to welcome you toFort Wayne. As far as winter prep. For vehicles, you don’t need snow tires but ensure you have more at least 6/16 tread remaining (minimum). Other than that LONG JOHNS or tights(for undergarments)scarves, and hot coco. That’ll get you started
I work from home, home school last two kids, moved from Cali, live in Indianapolis, but like smaller towns. Is this a good place for kids? Fun things to do? Pretty safe? My lease will be up soon, I like the homes for sale there. Was thinking about renting there to explore before buying. This helps.
It's great for kids. My daughter is thriving here. Renting is a popular option at first. I have a relocation guide if you want to take a look. My contact information is in the description.
Hi, new to your channel just out curiosity you said you received a job offer in Fort Wayne . What kind of job offer do you received? Trying to relocate from California and curious out about jobs market in the Fort Wayne area.
I relocated from southern California to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2006. I worked for the Department of Defense in southern California but transferred to the Department of Veterans Affairs in Fort Wayne.
That’s difficult to answer. Lots of options. There are safe places all over town. Skyline plaza has apartments downtown. Renting for about 1,200 for a small 1 bed. Or you could find a small house, same price, in an older home with a yard in an area that I would consider “mid”. There are expensive condos downtown, that run the same price as a home rental in the suburbs. And you still have regular apartments like Canterbury green. Many many options. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. I don’t have enough information to answer confidently

@@iAm.k3y Nice! Well hopefully I’ll see you at the expo. I’ll have a booth there with information for “independent contractors” how to Show proof of income as a 1099, credit score, buying process. “Home buying for Barbers” type of thing
Im from fort wayne. Its not what it used to be when i was a kid. Times were fun back then. Now its not that fun anymore because im an adult now and i live in another state (houston texas) living my own life. I dont know what the housing situation looks like now in fort wayne but im sure its cheap. Places might be affordable.
stop moving here, or if you do move here don't be willing to pay 1200 for a one bedroom apartment you are letting the landlords price most people out of being able to get a place to live. most jobs here pay a take home of 2k a month or less.
The vast majority of people moving to Fort Wayne are from the surrounding smaller cities, Ligonier, Mishawaka, Kendallville, etc. I agree that renting is a dead end for anyone anywhere. If each apartment is paying 1,200 a month, how much do you think the owner is making annually? Fortunately, owning a 2 bed 1 bath home would cost you the same amount. 170,000, @ 7.586 % is $1,199 dollar mortgage. I just listed a house on Maurane, near Jefferson Pointe, on half an acre that 2/1 900 sq ft. With IHCDA downpayment assistance you can buy a similar home with no money down. We'd love to help if you're interested in getting away from your landlord.
