This model was built by my late brother circa 1983 -1984. This is my oldest and most priceless in my collection.
Thanks to @Xwing5 I know the exact model this is. Thanks to ‪@kingsadvisors‬ for advice on the care of this fragile model.

Thank you. The flash is helping some. I cut it off and you couldn’t see anything. To this day if I smell model paint and glue I think of my brother in the early 1980s. 😂

Thank you for listening. It’s a favorite to share. My brother was a character! He had my little sister convinced the train was under the house we were living in at the time . because he knew the schedule and we would hear the horn. That was gratefully the only house we rented with a basement.

I think the flash is contributing. But I do think they had more detail. I should have zoomed in the deflector dish. Who knows how long it took my brother to put it together? He put together a lot, not just Star Wars.

@@sassy7766 Most of my old plastic airplanes and ships fell apart :( The quality of that plastic wasn't good and time simply made them into plastic dust...

Oh I’m sure. My brother had a lot of his hanging from the ceiling as a teen. After his widow remarried her husband very carefully hung from the ceiling in the oldest son’s room. Even using the original clear wire my brother used. His biggest fear was breaking them.

Here's a (mostly) true story: I earned my Kenner Millennium Falcon at two an a half years old for sleeping in my bed all night for a month straight. In 1979, it was a whopping $34. Mom and dad put it on layaway at a Hill's department store in Parkersburg, West Virginia. It was well loved. Not long after, my sister was born. And that's all I'll say 'bout that....
