I recently made the switch from OSRS to RS3, and let me tell you, in OSRS I found it hard to do skilling without risking my mental state, RS3 is just way more relaxed. Further, in OSRS, skilling is just dead weight imo, the game is so destroyed by bots and a heavy focus on the slayer skill that doing anything else is just a waste of time. But in RS3 I haven't had that issue yet, I'm able to chill and do skilling and make more than enough gold to effectively train other skills. I still like OSRS, but I need a break from it.
@@ChevalricRSNot having quest helper is brutal in rs3. I got quest cape in OSRS and rs3 quests are tough without having the helper. Although I did desert treasure 2 in old school without helper but that was a fun quest
I haven't touched osrs since my account converted over. Now it makes me want to give it a go flipping the other way. I feel like I'd be lost and demotivated pretty fast though
6:30 You are mixing revolution and legacy mode up. Legacy combat mode is more like osrs without abilities while revolution is the one where abilities get automatically used(?)
If anyone here is worried that RS3 will be "too easy" or that there won't be any long grinds or achievements to work for, I can assure you that you will have no problems making the adjustment, and I'll only laugh a little bit.
OSRS also has a lot of (unofficial) QoL features RS3 desperately needs. I.e. 25-minute logout timer, tile markers and indicators, better loot and kill tracking and boss hiscores. Imagine how AFK shit like waterfall fishing would be with a longer lobby timer.
@@sithisrants4154 the 25 minutes log out timer is neat not gonna lie. The tile and markers indicators that's thanks to a 3rd party client which doesn't count. Better loot (your opinion), kill tracks is another 3rd party featured, boss high scores is cool. I'm pretty sure both games can pull from each other and I don't mind it, it would benefit everyone tbh.
Could you possibly do rs3 to osrs too? I started with rs3, tried out osrs, but I was just so lost and got pretty damn frustrated with running out of stamina every two seconds. Have to spend like 5 hours just walking to quest locations. As a side note, I don’t understand why some people have hissy fits when mtx exists. Just don’t buy anything, simple :|
RIGHT?! and i could do but idk how useful it will be? the run energy issue is solved by either buying staminas ona main or training agility. But i could do?
About the MTX, issues that are addressed are: - Cosmetics are a gamble and unavailable to ironmen (although they have been making cosmetics buyable for irons recently ) - Insane amount of xp can be bought, giving someone an unfair advantage (aka pay 2 win) - Events have been nuked, haven't had new events in years, but there are more seasonal TH promo's (see cosmetics statement) - it's playing on FOMO real hard - some find new content lacking and with all the promo's, they fear that Dev time mostly goes towards MTX instead of the game Personally, I don't suffer from FOMO and I really don't care about other people buying their way to the top. The lack of events, event related cosmetics being locked behind TH and stuff like that, is something I do hate about TH. That's why I never ever ever buy keys. But if someone else wants to, sure.. don't care. 😅
runelite is a huge turn off and i understand that, having recently played osrs again; runelite is sooo nice to have. The armour is confusing, but a rule of thumb; weapons over armour, power armour over tank (besides for mage) :)
*unnecessary long comment here* As a dedicated RS3 player (very close to Master Max Cape), I can say that if I were a new player, I probably would really struggle to maintain wanting to play. Not because the game isn't worth playing. If you're into games LIKE Runescape, I honestly dont think there is a better option. I think the biggest issue that someone new to RS3 may have, is the UI, which you clearly described with a discussion on how to alleviate that. However, from my personal experience, community is probably the biggest hurdle to overcome. As a new player, they would likely have a lot of questions (and rightfully so, the game has so much content for all levels, it can be overwhelming). But if the user attempts to ask a question to the wrong crowd... well I know you understand with your disclamer at the beginning of the video. Just recently, I had said that RS3 is Pay to Achieve, not pay to win, as no competitive aspect of the game within the main game has been influenced by MTX in a long time (no one is racing to be the 250,000th player with 99 attack). and I had someone just launch a verbal assault on me for the mere idea that its anything but P2W, I thought we were engaging in a conversation, but he kept ignoring many points of discussion and eventually started using wikilinks to rational fallacies like the strawman argument attempting to daclue not just my points, by me as a person in general. Another person chimed in, saying he thought I was wrong, but he said the other guy was being an incoherant emotional troll, the guy actually responded calmly, and admited to this other guy that he was just skimming through my messages for "buzzwords" and assuming what point he thought I was making, and writing his responses to that. He was having a conversation with himself the whole time. just taking every opportunity to discredit me. So, I just blocked him lol. The reason Im going into this much detail, is because this guy was a maxed hardcore ironman, with the Master quest cape (I did not disclose any info about my account). This is a person with a well established account, with many very impressive accomplishments. This is the kind of people new players would probably trust. I really wish we could help move the conversation away from Pay 2 Win to Pay 2 Achieve. I think if we could just do that, we would have a far more welcoming introduction to the game. Anyways, that's just an old mans opinion.
oh yeah 100%, thats why i want to keep voicing this opinion and keep spreading that message to hopefulyl get more people to see that it is P2A and not P2W. and i love the detail! i mean look at how much i ramble all the time LOL The community aspect is such a tough one bc gaming has changed and runescape hasnt :/ we just need better tutorials and in game explainations
