Thank you enjoyed watching this, I had a docking station but the software that came with it just messed up computer, so Now i buy the Fideco, again thanks for this review
The drive you clone not showing 2 drive at same time due to it clone same drive letter also. Change the letter one of it in disk management and it will show up as 2 different drive with same content that you cloned
we just bought one, it does NOT work in offline cloning mode, we tried to clone an original 2TB drive (source) to a 2TB target drive - didnt work, it works only as a docking station, the device copied the main OS but when we plugged the clone into the computer as replacement for the original, it would not boot up, FIDECO works in copying folders manually but in clone mode it doesnt really clone a boot up system drive with its boot up sector and operating system. Very disappointing - returning the item to the seller!
hello. so far all i've seen are the docking stations that accomodate hard drives that are stripped down, I guess you could say..how do you transfer or clone a Seagate or WD external hard drive thats in a sealed plastic case. I'm sure if you bust it open you will forfeit the warranty. anyone have an answer to this?? thanks
Copy paste. There is no proper solution for them.. They're for home users to do simple tasks, they're a dumbed down version of this here. My advice is to stop using them and go towards this direction, far more flexible. You can switch them into other computers, NAS systems, cloners the list goes on.
I’m using this to offline cloning old 1tb HDD to new 2tb SSD. It’s been blinking at 25% for three hours. What happens if the process is stopped/interrupted? Will source data be lost? Or new SSD damaged? Or, can I have a redo without any issues?
It takes as long as it takes. A 250GB clone will be faster than a 500GB clone which will be faster than a 1TB clone. It all depends on how much data you've got on the drive.
@@FrimleyComputing That is true, but this is the specific information for which I was looking. Knowing how long your 500GB clone took to complete helps me to determine if there is a problem with my 2TB clone as it should take approximately as long to complete 25% as yours took overall. Your answer here was not helpful at all. Neither is not giving the information to begin with.
