Gary, you hit the nail on the head. socializing with people, most with the same interests takes the boredom out of each day. Can you imagine living each day in some colder climates where your big outing each day is getting out of the house and visiting the supermarket! We will take the Villages Florida any day over that. Great video Gary, how true and health equals wealth, Stay active.

Thanks Mark. I hate to admit this but I actually got emotional about this, as I’m getting so many of my colleagues as I retire complimenting me on my career & life as a person they admire. it was something I wasn’t expecting.

@@GaryAbbott I completely understand Gary as I retired from teaching college last spring and experienced something similar. Although it can be a very emotional time, take it all in as I am 100% confident the spoken words are true and come from their heart. You may get emotional…simply because you care equally about each of them in return. Somehow…we’ve come right back to the “people” component.

I feel like my quality of life would be better in TV ( coming from the NE) . It seems easy to live a healthy , active and social life there but… my children are starting to have babies and I don’t want to leave them!!😢

@@GaryAbbott- many ppl double down on "home" & stay put. Up north, the Midwest or wherever. My mom did this & grew lonely & isolated..."home" wasn't so great in her 70s. OTOH, are Villagers able to travel to see fam & friends as they age... It's tricky -

For me the BIG number 1 is peace. What brings the most peace. Without that your not fully enjoying anything. This why my wife and I have decided against the villages. We both hate traffic! Not to mention it's not good for my retirement car. A 6 spd manual, scat pack Challenger. If not for the FL/Villages traffic we would for sure be there. Nice video

Traffic has become less of an issue for me as I golf cart everywhere I want to go. My days of fun cars is kind of behind me even though sometimes I miss my Pontiac Firebird. :)

@@GaryAbbott We're out in the Houston burbs. It takes 70 minutes to go 16 miles everyday. I'm about 4 years away from hanging it up and getting out. I'm counting the hours. Enjoy, it's a great lifestyle out there for sure.
