As an Anarcho-Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyist-Makhnovist-Dengist-Ceaușist-Titoist-Prachanda Path with Libyan and Mongolian characteristics - 1976 Conference (Marxist), this song's great
the first time I watched Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" I didn't think that joke was as funny as it is now because I didn't understand it as much until now
I thought it was hilarious as a kid. Now, I view it as a bourgeois attack on revolutionary movements...and of course! They're all millionaires now, and John Cleese is even a shameless Tory!
@contapendrive1972 Peter is typically seen as "Guardian of the Gates of Heaven" so having Marx guarding the gates to Red Heaven is basically making him Red Saint Peter
I can't get the idea of red heaven out of my head. You pass after 80 years of doing your damnedest to change the world. You wake to a door which behind it is every leftest advocate you can imagine. Gandhi and Lenin are sitting at a table playing cards. Eugene Debs is having a conversation with Algernon Lee at the bar. Karl takes your hand and says, "You have done your part, and we thank you comrade. Now kick back and have a drink!" The crowd cheers you as the hymns of revolution canter in the background. You know you've done your part. And we salute you.
real: Technically, most of the anit-Stalinist in the Spanish Civil war Communists were not Trotskyites. Trotsky actually opposed the Civil war, so he said from Mexico.

For anyone Wondering: The Hammer and sickle flag with a gold bordered star is the flag of Kruschnev and Gorbachev's Communism The other one with a larger sickle is Stalinism The Backward Hammer and sickle with a four is Trotskyism The Blue, white and red flag with a red star is titoism The chinese flag is maoism And the one with the hammer and sickle symbol inside a star is Luxembourgism (German Communism)
Indeed. By the way, our group is working now on short and clear materialistic interpretation of Hegel. It would be rather useful to walk it through it from the perspective of another language. Do you know anyone who can give a hand or at least is interested in this kind of work?
I know this kinda opposes this song's values, bug I'd cooperate with other sects of left-anarchism a lot more enthusiastically than I would most forms of left authoritarianism. In fact I'd genuinely rather work with a "right-libertarain" than a stalinist or trotskyist. Still may fw MLs and Titoists
@@grugg3108 you, an anticapitalist, would rather work with someone who advocates for free market capitalism than anyone from the ideological faction that's done the most to combat capitalism globally. I think you've gotta rethink some of your principles
lol this comment thread has a lot of new to left politics roleplayers pretending they were involved in struggles and historical movements continents away, before they were born
I how is anarcho communism a compromise between marxism and anarchism ? I would understand with platformism which you can jokingly refer to as anarcho leninism, but anarcho communism isn't any more authoritarian or less radical, more party oriented, or more vanguardist than any other anarchist tendancy
In my opinion we can't just do away with the state instantaneously becaus it has to much relevance and people are not used to living without it so there must be a transitioning periode greetings frome a ml
Comrades, I know we all have our differences, but we all want to help the people, either one way or another, we may fight capitalism first and then talk about this differences
Well I guess that means we should highlight the shared things we agree on, run with that first, then later on we can smooth out the rest of the finer details.
The thought of Red Heaven is awesome. Marx and Engels welcomes you. Then you have 3 choices: Farming the clouds, Protesting for Socialism or having a revolution. Lenin in revolution, Eugene Debs leading a workers protest and the serfs and peasants doing farming minus the exploitation. I'd personally would join the dream revolution with Lenin.
Me: Time for left unity! Hey guys, want to work together? Anarchist: fuck off trot ML: fuck off trot Democratic Socialist: fuck off trot Leninist: fuck off trot Me: oh
As someone that would've cheered if some of the people many leftists praise met violent ends, I'd much sooner be stuck in an elevator with a Titoist than a be stuck in a cell gaurded by fascists.
What’s the difference in ideologies between the 2 top ones to the left that look almost exactly the same? I know about all of the others, but I have never known any difference between those 2
The one with the shorter sickle and only the outline of a star is/was the Soviet one. Idk what the other one is. Edit: yeah the gold bordered red star was the one on the USSR flag. The one with the solid gold star is presumably something different but I've not found any indication what. Edit2: might just be an error? fotw.info/flags/su!err.html Though that doesn't explain why it would be in the graphic.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Bailey_(Spanish_Civil_War_veteran) could this song be about this guy? This guy is the only bill bailey that I found who was a well known radical leftist.
Let me explain briefly: The Trotskyists see themselves in the tradition of Lenin, whereas the Marxist-Leninists claim the same but in fact mean Stalin. The left communists claim that both is the same and see themselves in the tradition of Luxemburg and Pannekoek. Whereas the Trotskyists claim Luxemburg was a Bolshevik and consider Luxemburgism a myth. The Stalinists hate both Trotskyism and Luxemburgism, which means that they also hate Lenin. The anarchists consider everything that has to do with organisation to be authoritarian and thus hate everything and basically consider Stalin to be a Lenin 2.0, in whatever respect. If the left communists agree in this respect, which they usually do, the anarchists go straight for beating up Marx. Meanwhile, the social democrats think everyone is a left-wing fascist. The reformist socialists once again can't choose sides and go nicely back into a governing coalition. Meanwhile, the left communists, council communists, libertarian communists have no clue what their differences actually are. The anarchists "spontaneously" burn a few bins, while the Trotskyists have been practising entrism for eons. Furthermore, the Marxist-Leninists who follow Lenin's tradition do not understand that this means they basically declare themselves to be Stalinists and are arguing with the Trotskyists over trifles. The Stalinists, of course, still think everyone is a petty-bourgeois deviation and cuddle around with the Maoists and even sometimes National Bolsheviks. The anarcho-primitivists don't have a clue and start to grow crops. In between, a few stray National Socialists walk through the camera. Sydicalists and anarchists start arguing about whether they should call themselves syndicalist-anarchists or anarcho-syndicalists, while the anarcho-communists look stupid. On the side, the left communists bash in the heads of the Trotskyists and Leninists, getting help from the Stalinists. An anarcho-capitalist asks for directions on the side. The Christian socialists don't know whether to pray for good weather or peace. Neo-Marxists repeat: "All I know is that I am not a Marxist". Supposedly orthodox Marxists argue whether the "permanent revolution" or the "stage theory" is correct. The Dengists, funnily enough, agree with the social democrats and reformist socialists that we all have to wait another thousand years to introduce socialism. The autonomists have no idea what they are supposed to be doing there and prefer to beg for more democracy in the workplace. All the while Musk, Bezos etc. are watching the spectacle from their new cybertruck. I hope that was understandable for you, because it wasn't for me...
@@acezheng8148 Well, it's just a pity that in reality it's not a sensible mixture and merely reflects Stalin's own doctrine. Lenin himself said several times that Bolshevism is not universally applicable, but rather a Marxism applied to Russian conditions. Lenin would probably have ended up in jail himself at some point, according to his own wife. Instead, Stalin makes Lenin into a mannequin and gives himself credit, although Lenin strictly rejected the personality cult. And then some nutcase wants to tell me that I'm following a religion. The sentence that it was Stalin who shaped Marxism-Leninism and claims that it was a further development, namely his, makes no difference to its content. Whether Stalinism or ML, it remains Stalin's invented doctrine, just like Maoism. What if I were to go around saying, "Marxism-Leninism-Maoism-Titoism-Dengism-Hoxhaism" is the new doctrine? Making up some shit has nothing to do with the development of Marxism, neither do the constant variations of Dialectical Materialism, of which there are now also umpteen versions. Look at the crippled Chinese alone. Lenin's doctrine alone, not Stalin's, has proved how the proletariat can conquer power. Stalin at least made it clear to us that the workers and trade unions should not lose it. I consider myself as a (Leninist) Bolshevist and if you are still not sure, remember all the Bolshevists killed by Stalin. So beat it...
when u read no theory other than about your own sect and have a really good time imagining what each tradition thinks and gets its lineage from and how each sect relates to eachother
@Pravda Stalinism is not a theory, it is a characterization given to Stalin's supporters; Trotsky also did not synthesize any theory of his own, Trotskyism is the name given to his followers.
@Pravda The Permanent Revolution is not an independent theory, it has become inseparable from Leninist practice. In short, it is the realization that it is no longer possible to form popular fronts with the bourgeoisie and that the proletariat must act independently even in backward countries. This was developed by Trotsky yes, but it is not because an author develops a concept that is already from a different branch of Marxism, otherwise we would have an ideology for every existing Marxist thinker. The Permanent Revolution is, in essence, a way of applying revolution in the context of modern capitalism, it is a method of practical action, Stalin also had methods, but they fluctuated a lot, he used one between 1928 and 1934 (sectarianism), another between 1934 and 1939 (step revolution, popular fronts with the bourgeoisie), and so on, the difference is that Trotsky's method is more enduring. It does not inaugurate a different revolutionary formation, as Mao Tse-Tung or Ho Chin Minh did, for example.
As the head of the 69th International, it is clear that all of you have betrayed the revolution with your sectarian refuse to uphold Marxism, as understood through my hyper-specific, and poor researched reading of Trotsky's 1934-1337 works.
I do believe in uniting the left to some extent, but trying to unite Marxists and anarchists is idealism at play. (As a Marxist,) our theories are fundamentally opposed from one other. Yes, our end goals are the same, but our ways of getting there are different.
@@TheBigWall3284 Marxism and getting the ultra rich richer aren't the only two options. Though getting the ultra rich richer is the more reality based options because that's something that can actually be done. Communism and Anarchism are impossible to achieve
It's about sectarianism within the radical left. It cites names like Emma Goldman, a proeminant anarchist activist in north america, and the Socialist Labour Party. Both of these figures would be scoffed at by marxists, who disdain both anarchism and reformism. By the end, you get the head of the "marxist league" slamming the Gates of red heaven in Karl Marx' face for being close to Karl Kautsky and Ferdinand LaSale, proeminent figures in the 2nd international's hard turn to the right, and the transformation of the German Social Democratic Party from a communist party advocating for revolution into a bourgeois party meant only for running elections. The action of slamming the door in Marx' face is meant to ridicularize such sectarianism within the left, basically a commie version of "if Jesus came today christians would crucify him again".
@@raptordraws7088 I feel you. I like debating people if they can remain on topic and not use insults. If they resort to pettiness then I go troll mode. If someone actually does something I believe is intentionally and consciously exploitative of others I loose my temper.

most agorists are ancaps, but they don't need to, and there's a small minority of agorists who are socialist from what I understand agorism is a strategy, not an ideology, and its principles can be summed upon: creation of alternative self-sufficient society that seperates from the state, so can be both either socialist or capitalist unfortunately the same goes for transhumanism, but true anarchotranshumanism is socialist, there are ancaps who try to steal the term, but it's not their idea

Right Wing Version: Ol Pragey belonged to every right wing party that ever came to be, Till he finally decided to start his own party so he wouldn't disagree. He got himself an office with a sign outside the door, with "Prager League" in letters red, And to everyone who came around these were the words he said: "Oh, you may be a friend of Ol Donald (2), Dolf Hitler (3) and you may agree, You may get along with Pinochet(4) and with Ol Robert E Lee(5) You may be an old-time Christain(6), and think Wilhem is (7) fine, Yes, you may be a comrade to all of these folks, but you ain't no Comrade of mine." For 17 years Dennis Prager kept his office with the sign outside the door, But he never, ever got a new member. Everybody made him sore. And then one night, there came a big fire and through the flame and smoke, As the firemen rushed in to save Pragers life, these were the words he spoke: "Oh, you may be a friend of Benito (8); Louis the 16th(9) and you may agree, You may get along with Ol Spencer(10) and also with the NSP11). You may have belonged to every right wing party that ever had a line, Yes, you may be a comrade to all of those folks, but you ain't no comrade of mine." And so on this day, Dennis Prager passed away, and his soul to White Heaven flew. He was met at the gate by old Nixon (12) and George Wahington(13), too. They said, "Welcome, comrade," as they opened the gate to let Dennis come inside, As he slammed the door back in old Nixons face, these were the words he cried: "Oh, you may be a friend of Ol Davis (14), and a pal of Jefferson(15), You may get along with Wallace himself (16) and the American National(17), Yes, you may have inspired every Democratic party from the Hudson to the Rhine, Oh, you may be a comrade of all of those folks, but you ain't no comrade of mine."
I think all types of Communist and Socialist ideologies from Marxism-Leninism, Jucheism, Libertarian Communism, Marxist Socialism, Rightist Socialism, Stalinism, Maoism, Titoism, to Trotskyism and Posadism could all unite together because their all Marxist/Communist ideologies that all came from the same Political Philosopher with just an adjustment of different Political and Economical Aesthetics from different powerful leaders. Although we don't know what to do with all kinds of Anarchists because Anarchism is too different of an Philosophy and ideology which it is away from the Communists perspective.
Woah, guys! Guys! Please, we leftists are acting like the Capitalists we should be fighting! Cast off the actions of the past! Only then can we the people unite in world revolution! I’m a Marxist, FYI.
