Stumpy,I'm fairly new to woodworking, and to your You Tube page.Being retired with limited funds at my disposal, I really like your "woodworking on the cheap" philosophy! Please don't let these jerks get you down, with their negative comments and critiques. I love your videos, and have learned a lot from them and your web-site.I too like to shop at Rockler.com because they sell so much neat stuff unavailable at the big retailers stores, plus, their "Outlet", can save a lot.Keep up the good work!

I had my concerns about all the Rocker stuff you were showing, as I really like your videos for the fact that most of your projects are geared towards making your own stuff and saving money, but I read your reply below and think that you did an excellent job explaining your position. Thanks for addressing that, and I agree, those Rockler accessories are pretty cool. Keep up the good work Stumpy, I am a fan.

Hi Stumpy N. Another excellent episode, packed with good information and amusement! I enjoyed it immensely. One of your great strengths is your willingness to name products and vendors you like. I've always found that helpful. Antti

Stumpy that is one great cart. It will make assembly a breeze. Cool tips and a great show!

Full disclosure: Rockler does sponsor the website, and I'm proud of it! But they do not sponsor the show, and even if they did I wouldn't show off a product unless I thought the show's fans would really like it. I am a big fan of Rockler's stuff, like most woodworkers are, but I also feature tons of other products- None of which do I get paid to promote!

I don't drink but cheers Stumps. Great features on that cart. Will definitely be one of my future plans maybe to set as a outfeed for my table saw station project I'm doing right now. Thanks for sharing.

Impressive final product, excellent job. I love how organized it is; definitely something I could put to use. Reminds me of a Dremel/sharpening station I made a while back out of a small rolling computer table. Mounted a small vibe, small bench grinder, and a Dremel Workstation that served as a drill press w/the cool cord hanger as well. Hella handy. Next I added some drawers, removable parts bins on the side, a couple shelves, and a solder area complete with a holster and solder spool. Finally I slapped on a power strip, popped in some hooks and hangars, and hung the dremel(s)/power tools next to the chimney with care. Very nice touch with the bench top. Chapeau. Subscribing...

Fantastic cart, at this point a gr8 cart like that is only in my dreams. Hopefully someday I will have the ability to build 1

Thanks, that SawStop is a monster (5HP with the big fence and table). I have piles of hats but that one just seems to feel from Clear Vue just fits nice. :)

I love it! I put some locking wheels on it so it doesn't move. We're just finishing up a Roubo style woodworking bench video, you might want to check that one out too.

Never watched your show before, I've been missing out.. Loved it. That cart is awesome. I made the mistake of building a basic workbench/table a bit back that's just too large for my shop, went a little overboard really. It's always in the way it seems. Love your sense of humor

Another incredible video and awesome project. Wicked nice tablesaw (saw stop). I have a Felder CF741, even safer than the Saw stop. Oh, and most excellent cap, I think I have a few of those. Thanks for showing your crafty ideas with the cart, much appreciated.

Excellent show as always. Just one complaint: At 2:56 that little wire wrapped between plugs to hold the powerstrip, if it's an actual wire, that's a blast waiting to happen if it ever touches a the end of a plugged tool cord

I think we have different ideas about what a shop cart is. To me it's more of a mobile workstation. I don't want just tool storage, I want storage for the tools I will use at that workstation. What you are describing is just a tool cart. But hey, if that's what your shop needs, build that suckka!

The Rockler stuff in this episode lasts onay a couple minutes- out of a 14 minute show... and the reason it stands out so much is not because I mention the "Rockler" name but because they have their logo well displayed on their stuff. I didn't intentionally film closeups of the logo- it just came out that way! But so what, those tool holders and things would be just as awesome if they had somebody else's logo on it instead!

The two doors didn't have latches on them yet, but I don't know what else you could be talking about. Drawer slides aren't joints, they can only be as "solid" as the drawer slide itself. I assure you my joinery is not "wobbly".

So hows the Cart serving you?, I was looking at building one for my power tools. does yours move when you work on it?, I also have hand planers and was looking for a good bench to start on with those too. I have pretty much accepted that I will need something more stationary for hand planing and sawing.

It's not nearly as bad as it looks. There is no way the prongs could touch the wire and the electrical contacts at the same time. But while I've never had an issue, I can understand why you may not want to do it yourself.

You might also just make sure to get a power strip with those drop-on, keyhole-style screw holes built into the back.

You are mistaken. Rockler does not sponsor the show. They did not tell me to show those products and I did not get paid to do it. Rockler is the website sponsor and I do reviews for their website. But the show has always been, and always will be my honest opinion. I feature LOTS of products for LOTS of places, not just Rockler. I like to share stuff I find that I think the fans would like, no matter where it came from. In the last episode it was Worksharp. This time it was Rockler.

He did say the ultimate workbench is one that is customized for the individual. Yes his is horrible FOR YOU but not everyone else. As you said in your post that you don't like it. I personally think it's cool

AWESOME! Yep, my kids grew up using that alone as an descriptive expletive and name of their bestest friends (until they weren’t). We said that EVERYTHING was “Cool” - though with a much more enthusiastic detached attitude than kids today. My grand children find most everything “random” and while I could only offer $20.00 per week each ‘allowance’ (they worked for it..nothing is free)..evidently 9 year old girls require almost $50 per week to barely survive..even though there is no evidence that they ever put down their cell phones to actually go anywhere or spend it! (My wife just informed me that $739.00 shoes are a thing for that age granddaughter?!? “Random!”

@deezynar 11 лет назад
Good opening statement about optimal tool storage, I think you read one of my comments somewhere. The project doesn't quite deliver optimal storage tho because you're trying to make it double as a bench. Putting a top on it just makes it hard to get to the tools. Tool storage is best when it's just for storing tools. Optimal means no drawers, or doors. Reach out, grab the tool.

Hey stumpy. What and why did you cut what almost looks like little biscuit holes in a bunch of the sections of you shop cart?

S. Nubs, I wouldn't care if Rockler were your paid sponsor, since I didn't pay myself to see any of your episodes. Instead, I trust myself to be the decider of when you've gone over to stupid. So far, you have not done that yet. Antti
