Pro-tip: If you're cutting down threaded rod (or a bolt, etc..), put a nut on it before cutting, then turn the nut off the cut end. It'll help straighten any threads that were damaged during the cutting.
@DesireToInspire1
@DesireToInspire1 7 месяцев назад
Yes I would have done this as well but later on (not shown in vid) I took all the rods to my disc sander and gave them a chamfer so all damaged threads went away that way. But what you say is an excellent idea in most other case!

Hi! Excellent design AND excellent instruction! There are a lot of people who are good at making things but the number of people who can DO ***AND*** TEACH is much smaller! Well-done!

Brilliant idea about putting something heavy in the back of the draw when fitting the draws to the slide. I had slight height differences the other day and couldn't work out what I done. But it was ok. Thanks for sharing

Super ideas! Has inspired me to make something similar. Imagine the circular saw catching your glove - the mess it makes to your hand will keep the surgeons busy for a long time. Never use gloves when working with turning tools. Keep on sharing your projects!!

Thought for a moment during the biscuit installation that we were going to hear some Swedish cuss-words! Nice job on the cabinets. I especially like the leveling bolts - that's a great idea!

Beautiful work and great idea! All of my big tools are on rolling cabinets. It sure makes working in small areas a lot more efficient.

In the future, layout the cut lines for the Drawer Fronts first, and then position the biscuits sho they are not near those cut lines. Nice job on the easy commentary to follow.

I really like this setup! I've been considering something along these lines. And the modular aspect with all of the tool beds at the same height is great.

Mine was like that in the beginning as well. Many things are still just in my head and i really look forward to build more things :) You can do it to, its all about taking the first step and the rest just come by it self, you can do it! Good luck!

@DesireToInspire1 I've been an off and on maker since I was a kid. My husband wants me to build out the garage so that most all of our stuff is in cabinets, and I have a dedicated place for all my tools and a small shop.

Excellent idea for all my power tools that way I can use all of my work bench. But I do have an Idea if you want to try I sure am. The drawers become one drawer and this drawer is the dust and material collections bin and it can hook up to your dust system or other source of collection system that you have I.E cyclonic system.

Yes the space below it can be used for anything. Having a shopvac it would also be an excellent idea!

Nicely done. Love the leveling feet idea. I wonder about the risk of having such a high center of gravity. In my shop, I’d be afraid of tipping after hitting something small on the floor. I’ve seen people use concrete, bricks, or steel weights to stabilize the cabinet.
@DesireToInspire1
@DesireToInspire1 7 месяцев назад
I have so far not experienced it to be unstable. When adding tools to the drawers then it became even more stable.

Where do I buy that blue pocket hole jig? It's awesome! Got a link? I can't find that exact model anywhere. 2:15
@southpole76
@southpole76 7 месяцев назад
you can also just use a metal drill bit to enlarge the hole. that will more or less self-center
@DesireToInspire1
@DesireToInspire1 7 месяцев назад
I have tried that but had very bad experiences on soft wood when i did that. It did not self center at all and kinda took its own path.

Perhaps the leveling bolts could have been accessed from the underside of the plywood top to allow for an unobstructed top surface.
@DesireToInspire1
@DesireToInspire1 7 месяцев назад
I thought a lot of this but could not come up with a good solution for only 19/32" plywood top. Closest solution i could come up with is to glue barring in the top and glue the rods in the barrings but that did not feel solid enough.

They are super solid. When all joints are glued and it has a thick back sheet then I see no way for it to ever break.

Wearing gloves with hands close to spinning blades is dangerous. If the blade catches the glove, it could easily pull your hand and arm into the blade very quickly.

As usual, I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work! 👍🏽 But this isn't your best moment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PxZbTHOm2jg.html 🙄 You only have 1 right hand, you know. It's kinda useful too! 🙂 Everybody makes mistakes. But not all your viewers know it's not very smart to use your hand there.
@DesireToInspire1
@DesireToInspire1 7 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for your concern! I'm extremely aware where my hands are when I am close the the saw. It might look close but it actually far away, I would never do anything to risk hurting my hands. The times when I am close the the saw blade, I prommis you, my concentration is 100% on where my hands are. Again thank your for your concern and thanks for watching and pointing this out!
