This is a Mexican Spec 1981 Ford Fairmont wagon. 1981 was the worst year for cars in the US. They added smog equipment to cars that robbed them of most of their power as they had to comply to Federal regulations but they didn't really know how to.
The gas crisis never hit Mexico nor did the Mexican government require less emissions or better miles per gallon out of the cars.
Under the hood is a Mexican 302 V8. It is said the Mexican 302 is a stringer block that can handle more power than the US counterpart.
This one has a 3 speed manual transmission. A 4 or 5 speed will fit in there with no problem.
It is a one owner car and has been cared for all of its life.
The car has traveled 130,499 KM (81,088 Miles) in the past 44 years.
The paint is clean and shiny.
The interior features a red vinyl bench in front with plaid inserts. How cool is that?
The car has no factory air and is in need of a stereo which of course the new buyer will install the stereo of their choice.
It is still wearing its original wheel covers. This is the ultimate sleeper.
The car comes with its original invoice as its ownership document so you can see it really is a one owner car.
Being a Fox Body car the aftermarket has all you need to make this car as fast as you want and that Mexican block 302 will be able to handle it.
Here is the break down on the cost of the vehicle. The vehicle itself will be $6,300 dollars. Transport from where it is to the Nogales Arizona border $950 dollars for a total of $7,250. This vehicle is way down south in the country so a bit of the cost is bringing it to the border. We are paying almost $6.00 US per gallon of gasoline or diesel.
