fantastic video lads! what would be your take on a dual sub array? been contemplating adding two subs and placing them right under each of my speakers, forming an "in phase" array, potentially turning my two-ways into three-ways. would that be advisable? Will be testing it via EASE later, but as a general rule of thumb.. would you recommend such suggestion? Cheers!

Thanks for watching! I would definitely experiment with placement of the subwoofers and the fact that you are testing will give you a lot of information regarding which placement is working best. Having the speakers in line with the speakers could work well, but it all depends on the shape/size of your room and the location of the speakers/sub in relation to the mix position. Would love to hear what you find out with your testing!

Speakers are positioned w respect to the room, not the listener. The room in the example is too small for high fidelity use. Speakers are positioned for imaging, not frequency response.

For home recording studio owners, having the ideal room size/shape is often not an option. That being said, with proper acoustical treatment and speaker placement, professional recordings and mixes can be accomplished in small rooms. I would also say that speakers are placed for imaging AND frequency response. Speakers placed in the wrong location can absolutely impact frequency response, so both need to be considered.
