Scores the wining goal in the CL final, confirming he is a big game player and way better offensively than Kante has ever been. In fact he’s scored so many massive goals - agaisnt villa on final day, Arsenal etc. moreover the ‘pep system’ ceases to function as soon as he leaves the pitch, we drop off massively. I think rodri and kante are different players, both brilliant… but at least for city, pep would NEVER swap them. Kante doesn’t have the ability with the ball at his feet for a start

@@frankierc2920 Pep doesn’t need a Kante style player because City dominate the ball. Point is Rodri couldn’t do what Kante does either. There was a time that there was no one in world football who came close to playing as well as Kante in his roll. That might be true now of Rodri but I think it’s more arguable. FYI calling me delusional doesn’t help your case.

Especially now he’s getting forward and scoring massive goals, no one can compare to him, far and way the best 6. You’ve made sense elsewhere but it’s delusional to say Rodri wasn’t instrumental in those wins, you implied we could do it without him, sorry but it’s the height of delusion, because when ever we lose him we struggle massively. He’s the key. He’s just an all round better footballer too. Kante is a specialist who is unbelievable at breaking up play and dominating the ball, stopping counters… but rodri does all of that very well, even if not quite as well, where as on the ball the two are incomparable. Kante isn’t useless going forward but let’s not pretend it’s remotely close. Rodri is a superior footballer, or at least the lads on the club should have entertained it as a possibility.

if you were to pick 1 player to duplicate 10 times to make a full team of them and they played against other 11s of a single player. the rooney team would be the best ever. no player ever could do everything he could. he could do a job at LB or even CB

De jong isn’t a defensive midfielder

He is nothing like Busquets. De Jong gets the ball from deep beats 2,3 players and passes it to a winger or attacker. De Jong has a similar playing style to Kovacic but obviously Frenkie is 10x better. Busquets was all about that close control and being press resistance he never really ran with the ball.

VVD shouldn`t have even gotten second though. VVD is a very good defender and he is a PL legend and if he manages to win either one more PL or CL title, i think he can have a serious debate about being in the top 5 PL center backs of all time, but he isn`t there jet.

Rodri would also be perfect for Zidanes Madrid. Kante is a specific type of player who is limited compared to Rodri imo. He doesn't score big goals or control games imo. Rodri imo reminds me of a prime Roy Keane.

Busquets is the best player to ever play in his position, Kante is fanatastic obviously but he simply isn`t comparable to Busquets. Busquets isn`t even my favorite cdm of all time, but there is no denying that nobody in the history of the game is as good as Busquets in the cdm role, Busquets dominated in a position that has largely been dominated by physical beast and destroyers.

If you watched football in real life rather than play fifa you’d understand how good busquets was. Kantes prime lasted 2/3 years. Busquets was part of the best ever team and had at least a solid decade as the best dm in the world

@@Blue_manc Lol I don't play FIFA First of all, secondly yes busquests was part of one if not the best team ever but he would never be able to do what Kante did in that pretty average Chelsea squad, Leicester Team and then of course they've both had great international success, I defo think Busquests is underrated but at the same time I really think Kantes Overall Game Influence is highly underappreciated
