Is it better to bounce as you stretch? I thought it was a better stretch and less trauma to push into it instead of the bouncing action.

Stretching instructed and demonstrated in this video shows parts of how it's traditionally done in the East.Nowadays the West is picking up too of course.Some knowledge about your own body is of course quite useful when determining appropriate level of stress.Since quite a few things are guaranteed in this world, accidents are still bound to happen sometimes.One thing's certain: You can probably do a lot more you think. ^^

I am 72 years old and this stretching on the floor is very very hard - but as you always say „enjoy the exercise“ . I am sure it works. Respect to the students. Thank you for helping us so hardly to become flexible againðŸ‘â¤ï¸

Some things, for a multitude of reasons, we might never be able to do and can't even try. Many other things we can modify and some of these will eventually minnick the correct movement. It can be discouraging, especially if arthritic, for example. I've sometimes needed the assistance of a pillow or two. And one of the shoulder stretches needs - for now at least - a belt or scarf. Hopefully, one can come to distinguish a difference between a position that is "not a good idea" and that which must be endured to progress.

I live in the USA, people here don't emphasize enough the need for flexibility. We always think about how strong, how fast etc... how big the muscles. These stretches are quite difficult for me, 41 year old male. These aunties are much more flexible than I am.
