While this video is very good, there are a number of things I think need corrections and/or clarifications. 8:45 - Not sure why Minecraft was brought up, since Minecraft has never had intentional secret world seeds. Also, it might be good to note that the seed also celebrates the release of 1.4, since 1.4 released on Terraria's 9th anniversary. 12:13 - This is also something Redigit has outright stated. I will note though that any lore stated by the developers should be taken with a grain of salt, since the developers have said they just like to troll the community with random statements. 14:49 - I wouldn't call being able to obtain the red potion a recent discovery, since they're fairly common in For the Worthy worlds (and a bit less common in drunk worlds). Also, it should be clarified that using the red potion in the drunk world still gives you debuffs despite it being obtainable there. It's only in For the Worthy (and Get fixed boi) where it grants buffs. 17:24 - Daedalus Stormbow with holy arrows was especially potent against the Destroyer, which was the main issue with it being overpowered. 18:51 - As of 1.4.1, Terra Blade now requires the broken hero sword again. 21:01 - While Minecraft's official release date is after Terraria's release date, Minecraft did exist in its alpha and beta phases before Terraria and was still popular (specifically, Minecraft has been publicly available since late 2009). Minecraft being 3d Terraria is entirely just a response to the Terraria being called 2d Minecraft. 22:35 - The Zapinator was only ever dropped by Plantera in the 3DS version. The original Zapinator had already been removed from the game long before Plantera existed, and it was specifically readded to the 3DS version as a reference to the old item (and because now that they were on 3DS, they didn't have to worry as much about Nintendo copyright). The old Zapinator was only overpowered because it existed before Hardmode was a thing, it would actually fit in quite well with current mid to late hardmode weapons in terms of damage nowadays (though, of course, now we have the modern broken zapinators). 25:52 - The Angler isn't the only NPC that leaves instead of dying. The princess also leaves, along with all town pets. 27:30 - Google had reinstated Redigit's account before Terraria released on Stadia, and I believe Redigit changed his mind on cancelling Terraria's Stadia release due to this. Google very likely didn't just release it against Red's wishes. 28:51 - Your video shows prime bombs exploding on planter boxes lmao. The biggest utility with planter boxes though is that it's far easier to use them with smart cursor, since, unlike platforms, you won't accidentally make stairs. 33:00 - The problem with the Old One's Army isn't that it's late game (it has three tiers fought at different points of the game), it's that it's very time consuming and many people simply don't enjoy the event. Because of that, it's useless just because the tedium isn't considered to be worth it (though, if you enjoy the event, then it definitely is worth it). 37:28 - You've got this one completely backwards. Biome key molds are what are only obtainable in legacy versions. Ever since 1.3, biome key molds were removed and replaced with the keys. Biome key molds were added because originally, you could get a biome key in very early hardmode and instantly open a biome chest in the dungeon to get a powerful item. The key molds were quickly added as a way to lock the keys behind Plantera. Then, 1.3 removed the biome key molds in favor of just making the keys unusable until Plantera is defeated. 38:04 - Nimbus Rod is a magic weapon, not a summon weapon, so it'd make more sense to focus on Nimbus Rod not being able to get mythical. Even then, I'm not sure why this item is even on the iceberg since it's pretty normal for various weapons to not get the best reforges for their class. 40:08 - I think it's pretty generous to call this comic "ongoing" given its current hiatus. 40:29 - It should be clarified that using ducks to hit the entity cap works because while statues normally have a limit on how many entities they can spawn, the duck statue only checked for the singular ID instead of both IDs, leading to duck statues easily being able to spawn infinite ducks 41:54 - This was also just true for all furniture and background items 44:37 - This event was going to be mobile exclusive, not chinese version exclusive. Of course, it was never implemented anyway. 45:02 - It should be noted that the jungle mimic used to be an unimplemented enemy, where it was scrapped because the jungle already had enough content. It's readdition in the secret seed is, of course, meant to be a joke given how it drops joke items and items with funny names. 46:09 - Moon Lord being Cthulhu's brother has been both confirmed and deconfirmed by the devs, being a prime example of how the devs just say things to troll the community. 48:40 - The Clothier does sell the Solar Cultist set which matches the white cultists. 50:48 - While pets being vanity explains why the devs don't make pets useful nowadays (chester from the don't starve crossover being the only exception), the old-gen pets were removed because they weren't created by Re-logic themselves. 51:03 - Couple of things here. First off, Terraria: Otherworld was never meant to be Terraria 2, the developers had clarified this many times. But also, Redigit has recently (August 2022) released concept art for Terraria 2, which you can find on the wiki on the page for Terraria 2. 53:20 - There was never really a point where other modloaders coexisted with TModLoader. The other notable modloaders were for different versions. TConfig was the primary modloader for 1.1, TAPI was the primary modloader for 1.2, and TModLoader was the primary modloader for 1.3. TModLoader was the one to break the curse of losing support once Terraria got another major update, as it survived the transition from 1.3 to 1.4. Any mods that didn't use any of these modloaders were pretty much all standalone mods, and even then, modding only really became big with TModLoader. 53:35 - Eerie is also used for the Blood Moon 55:03 - The devs apparently had many arguments regarding on if Dreadnautilus should be considered a boss or not. It even got a boss trophy sprited for it that was ultimately scrapped. 59:15 - This moon only appears during world generation of the drunk (and get fixed boi) seed. It doesn't appear in the actual world. 1:03:32 - These enemies still exist, they just don't have their unique names anymore. There were also named variants of Eaters of Souls and Hornets. The special names ultimately were removed in 1.1, and later on many other enemies got variants of different sizes. 1:06:04 - This is likely false now, since 1.4.4 updated the travelling merchant in a way that allows for more items to be sold (and this iceberg seems to date from before 1.4.4). The wiki doesn't yet detail the precise mechanics of how many items the travelling merchant can sell now, but it's likely higher due to a few factors. Hardmode now adds an extra slot, you can get the Peddler's Satchel to raise the slot count by 1, and paintings now get their own separate slot. 1:07:45 - While I can't verify the line count anymore (currently don't have the decompiled game to check), I can definitely say that the zombie AI does have an absurd amount of code. However, it is a bit misleading. Zombies use the Fighter AI (id 3), which is the most common AI in the game. Any enemy that uses the Fighter AI, but deviates from it in some way, will have a specific exception written for that enemy in the function. For example, granite golems using their defensive block is specified in the Fighter AI. Hopilites throwing javelines is specified also in the Fighter AI. Every unique behavior exhibited by enemies using this AI has their code written into it, which is why it's so massive.
The world border section is actually referring to how outside of the area the player can see there is actually a wall composed of stone and dirt. You can test this yourself by using sticky bombs.
well do sky islands count as lava? I was preparing to fight WOF and making a platform to run on while shooting at the wall of flesh when the text said my guide was killed and a wall of flesh spawned

But because you say that you were building a bridge to fight WoF, than most probably you were into the underworld, so you eather killed a flying demon with a vodoo doll, or one of your minions killed it, and so it dropped the doll into the lava and you got yourself onto a fight with WoF. This could also happen off screen, if your minions killed the demon, because they can chase the enemy for a short time pretty far away from you ( because even though I think minions can't go outside your monitor screen, enemies can. So for exemple, a fire imp can't go outside your screen, but it can shoot after a demon outside your screen, so you wouldn't see it, but the demon would drop the vodoo doll into lava after being killed)
38:05 firstly, the Nimbus Rod is a magic item. Probably a slip up but worth mentioning. I believe it cannot have the Ruthless modifier, as it doesn't deal knockback at all. Therefore, its knockback cannot be reduced as it doesnt exist.
I am unsure if it can against mobs, but I do know that it at least knocks back players; I use the Nimbus Rod in a minigame on one of my Terraria servers and use it specifically for its knockback against players.

I am currently doing a no crafting run and I have to say the old ones army is extremely useful providing the strongest uncraftable armor sets in the game
@@3twibles4sweetrevenge Code 2 and Yoyo Glove are both obtainable straight into Hardmode with no crafting as well as Melee Emblem. Works well with Ancient Shadow set for pretty good damage. Code 2 is especially good because it has infinite usetime
I mean I'd consider it a biome, it changes the spawns in the area around it and has its own loot, also considering biomes appear when you have a certain amount of specific types of blocks in an area
Angel Statues are not that useless as of today, you can throw it in a Shimmer Pond and you'll get an Aether Monolith, which allows you to carry the powers of Aether wherever you placed it.
to clarify for people if you put it near shimmer and use it, it will turn off the space effect and if you activate it anywhere else it creates the space effect.

Kinda surprised that Face Monster noises weren't mentioned. On old mobile versions, and I believe the 3Ds version as well, the sound of a Face Monster growling would play completely randomly regardless of biome or entities on screen. It used to catch me off guard when I first started playing, and I've never really seen anyone else talk about it much.

46:10 not solid proof by any means, but worth mentioning nonetheless: When looking up enemies in the bestiary, some bosses have special hardcoded strings that will also try to be matched for a searched. Eye of Cthulhu has "eoc" for example, so if you look up "eoc" on the bestiary, it'll display the eye of Cthulhu entry. One of these hardcoded text matches is "cthulhu", which will give you moon lord's entry.
25:45 The Yelets, which is a yoyo that has a rare chance of dropping from jungle creatures also comes from one of the many different yoyos sold by the same company. So it's pretty cool to learn about that!
Something hilarious to note is that I thought that the Crimson was actually an advanced jungle. It would be plausible because the vines from Crimson act the same as the Jungle and both biomes are highly dangerous.
This was really well made, and I can respect all the time you put into this. What confused me however was the amount of times you would say you weren't sure about something and the heart meter wouldn't change at all. It's not until the fifth layer you finally shifted down to four hearts even though, as mentioned, you weren't too sure about other things beforehand. That's all though. Keep up the good work!
The Terra blade used to need two broken hero swords, one for the true nights edge and another for true Excalibur, the recipe change made it one broken hero sword in the terra blade recipe itself
The ridiculous size of king slime is actually possible through calamity mod by making it Master Mode, FTW, and Death mode, you can crank up king slime to nearly 10k hp, and he is a thicc boy
The biome key molds and biome keys are actually the other way around with the former only being available in legacy versions, and the latter being in the newest versions Also the nimbus rod is a magic weapon
52:20 I think this feature in the game was the most outrages thing. I remembered when I was playing the game by myself and had to face off the clowns and seeing them destroy my world as I keep dying and trying to survive for as long as I can
Regarding the 3000-line zombie AI, the zombie uses the "fighter" AI, which is probably why you couldn't find it in the code. It's used by over 100 different enemies in the game so it's highly unlikely it has 3000 lines of code, since the performance would be ass. But since terraria has spaghetti code, it's not totally impossible. I don't think it has though.
For the tutorial floating island, something that you should have mentioned is that there used to be a different floating island in the switch version. There was a small spot where unseeable ebonstone block would make you be in the corruption, and there were a few gravity potions that would get you across the giant ocean, and to the dungeon, but you couldn’t get in since it never turned to night.
I remember one of my worlds being completely taken over by Lepuses. Because I was in very early game I could not kill it and it kept on spawning more of its self by making eggs.

About the world border thing, you can actually break through it for a few frames if you go fast enough, with a setup where you have a bracket shaped configuration of any solid block, then use the portal gun to put a portal on two parts of it, then fall for a while until you go extremely fast, then put the top portal in the sideways part of the bracket configuration, giving you an extremely large amount of horizontal velocity because holding the portal gun makes your maximum speed 179 MPH. (Maybe because it’s heavy?) The optimal number of spaces between the top and bottom block of the bracket is 25. If it’s any less, then when you start to go fast, then you’ll decelerate to no velocity at all when teleporting, for seeming no reason.
Fun fact: the tutorial world is present in the Nintendo Switch version of the game which means that the tutorial world is present during the latest update
The "Big Boned" enemy is actually an easter egg/reference. It refers to the main character Eric Cartman of South Park's famous line "I'm not fat, I'm big boned!". It's also implied that this is what it is referring to since the enemy is visibly fatter than the Short Bones.
If you ever decide to make a part 2 for this iceberg, I would love to see more content about the old mobile versions, especially the unused or special content for them.

Back in 1.2, the keys were rare drops. Due to the fact that the biome key weapons (especially Vampire Knives) broke balance in progression, they made keys craftable from Molds post-Plantera in later versions until 1.3. And now they brought back the keys but the chests can only be unlockable post-Plantera.

In most games there’s multiple files which hold entity or object data. So the mythical “5000” lines of zombie code could be held in a unreferenced file
I actually knew about Red because of Super Mario Bros X, people on the forums for the game would always be uppity that he never released the source code and that they couldn’t have new content because of it. It was such a funny surprise when I learned that he was a lead dev for Terraria, especially because I knew him for a comparatively much less impressive project beforehand.
@@chainsawplayin yeah it was a cool easter egg which still exists. However the secret menu is no longer unlockable in SMBX2, as the content within the menu are now accessible as projectiles.

i used to play the 3DS version of the game a lot and i actually managed to find the Drax in a chest at one point. i think i remember that thing getting me early chlorophyte before i was technically supposed to get it.
Yeah older mobile and 3ds versions used to contain Drax in Shadow chests rarely. But of course it was too busted so they removed it. I can see why it was a thing: Back then crafting Drax was a goddamn chore.
Great video, but one thing I want to mention..The old ones army isn't really useless, it can be done as soon as killing EoW and Brain of cthulu. It gives powerful sentries, as well as the defenders forge and war table. For pre hardmode, the sentries are very powerful, such as the ballista sentry which fires powerful peircing shots with high damage, and are some of the only sentries available (besides shooticus houndicous that was introduced with the dont starve crossover). Normally during the event they cost etherian mana to use and can be placed infinitely similar in gameplay to dungeon defender, However they can be also used outside of the event as long as you beat it once in the world,albeit with the normal sentry limit. Sentries are immensely useful for Summoner class, as its effected by summon damage. As well as other classes, for farming mobs, drops, mining, harvesting herbs or building during high enemy spawn rate, statue farming, or additional damage for bosses. It lets you focus on these activites while the sentry focuses on killing enemies. They typically have a duration of 10 minutes which means you can AFK while killing monsters for equips and drops The war table lets you get a unlimited buff that increases your sentry count by 1, as well as accesories that can increase it to a total of 3. , Statue farming was nerfed to not drop any items when killed by lava or traps in order to nerf AFK farming, but using a summon or sentry can still make them drop items, albeit at a decreased rate then normal enemies without mods. Its useful as supplementary damage for all other classes. The defenders forge is a portable inventory item, when placed it will provide same amount of storage as the piggy bank, except its inventory is seperate. So it can be extremely useful for later in the game as your inventory slots get filled up, and can be used to store extra weapons, potions, building blocks etc and other useful items. This combined with the void bag, safe, and piggy bank all have seperate inventories and are the only way to expand your inventory. It also can drop the dark mage tome mount, which works similarly to a magic carpet, useful for hovering in a specific spot for a short amount of time for building, and for some bosses. In hardmode upgraded versions of the sentries are sold among a few other items. There are armor sets that further increase sentry count. I think those who thought it was useless didnt look into the items too much or might have done it too late in progression.
a few things missing on the drunk world, noticed these because i almost always play with it on: living wood tree counts are increased drastically, the "moon lord legs" exclusive item often appears in chests, both pre hardmode ore variants are included (only hardmode was mentioned), the underworld only has land in the outer thirds of the map rather than the inner area, and red's potion can rarely appear in chests there's probably a couple other minor details i forgot too
12:30 Someone apparently didn't play Terraria way back then - when added to the game, he was basically useless at the start. He would open doors at night for enemies to come in. He didn't help with how to progress the game, aside from the ability to know what to craft with an item the player possessed. And it was impossible to kill or get rid of him. Players got really mad and would make things like traps, shower him in lava, and so on - until the Guide Voodoo Doll was implemented, which, when equipped, allowed the player to kill the guide and only him. As revenge for that, the guide's rage could arguably be the Wall of Flesh, made up from all the killed guides in the early days who then chase the player. So I'm not sure why you'd argue the game being fantasy based and thus it might be true - there is quite some lore evidence, as Re-Logic interacted lots with their players and other fandoms. Just saying.

The old one’s army is extremely useful. It lets you get the ballista rod, which is an extremely good pre-hardmode weapon. It has helped me defeat the wall of flesh in master mode.
For the world border dimension thing, there’s actually some blocks past the world borders, but they’re just on a singular column. There’s a video about that you’ll probably find if you search “terraria farlands”.
