IMPORTANT NOTICE: Only 3 teams are left in the Ultimate Team Series, and they are The Blazers, Warriors and Wizards… BUT the Blazers are the only team left who will get their own individual video before the Ultimate Team compilation. The Warriors and Wizards will be the BRAND NEW content in the compilation, and as always, there will be timestamps in the pinned comment of that compilation video, so if you’re waiting for the Warriors or Wizards, make sure to tune in for the compilation when it drops! Corrections: Forgot to include Ricky Rubio in the honorables. Also Jimmy Butler's stats display 22-23 on the screen, but that was just a mistake. As the audio indicates, those are actually his 17-18 numbers when he was with Minnesota. How many games would the Ultimate Timberwolves win in the Ultimate regular season??
It's disappointing that the Warriors and Wizards aren't getting their own videos. It makes the series feel incomplete tbh. It's your choice of course but I hope you reconsider.
@GloriousKev I mean, I don't know what difference it makes for people who want to see just the Warriors or Wizards. Just click on the on the timestamp and bounce after its done if thats all you want. Personally, I feel like it's more disappointing when a compilation video is uploaded, and there's literally NOTHING NEW in it. I aim to never do that, that way the loyal viewers always have something new to enjoy.
@@jonnyarnettWhat if you were to put the Warriors in a video since that team is pretty stacked but put the Wizards in the compilation as brand new content?
They definitely would be. But you can tell this is a younger franchise when JR Rider is in the second team, and Gobert who hasn’t been there for long is the starting center.
Surprisingly nice for a newer franchise, thats statistically the most losing franchise ever. Lol. Expected this team to epically suck, but they're not all that bad tbh.
@fortynights1513 Kings have the most losses overall, Wolves have the worst Win Percentage and the Clippers have the 2nd worst percentage en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_all-time_NBA_win-loss_records
My only gripe with this list is missing out on Terrell Brandon. He was a true leader and even Chauncey Billups credits him for learning how to be a point guard. Love this series!
I can't wait until Ant and KG actually sit down for an interview together. It's awesome to see how much KG loves him. It's so much fun to play with them together in 2K
I would personally move Gobert to the bench and slide KG to the 5, so that Love can enter the starting lineup. Double bigs only works for Minnesota this season because the 4 can shoot 3s, but if players like Marboury, Ant, and Butler are trying to score in the paint on a team with 2 bigs that can only space the floor to the long 2 at best, it's gonna be an offensive nightmare. Love would work much better as a spot up option, and an outlet passer for the rest of the starting lineup - all of which are super athletic and can run the break. Kat and Gobert have also proven now that they are capable of playing together, so having them come off the bench at the same time isn't a bad thing. When you factor in defence and overall impact on winning, you could argue KAT was having his best season of his career at the 4 before he went down with injury. I would also give the DiAngelo Russell spot to Ricky Rubio, and swap out Jefferson for Sprewell, since the team already basically has 3 guys that can play the 5.
Having a young Kevin Love in his prime would be better than an aging Gobert. Gobert has been great this year and will likely win DPOY, but I think it would be better for winning games having Kevin Love’s offensive versatility, fantastic rebounding, passing, solid defense, and better all around team play. Gobert being on the bench would also mean there is never a minute when there isn’t a DPOY in the paint.
@@sethbowman7578 My sentiment exactly! There's no point in adding extra defence to an already great defensive starting lineup if it comes at the cost of ball movement and floor spacing. Having KAT and Gobert on the bemch means you have the versatility to either switch them both in at the same time, or sub one in depending on how the game is flowing!
But in the other hand they would cancel each other in the starting five offensively speaking (like bosh in miami) Gobert will give you great defense there and let Ant, Jimmy and take the load. Kevin, Kat and DLo in the second would keep the bench productive.
@@freesgen Nah I dunno man, Love is just the much smoother fit with the starting lineup than Gobert imo. You could argue that Love and KAT coming off the bench at the same time would result in redundant skillsets. The way I propose, you always have an all-time defensive big man at the 5, and an all-star level stretch 4 on the floor on at any given time, and aggressive attacking players like Marboury, Ant, and Butler will eat off that spacing. Love also allows the athletic starting lineup to play way faster with his outlet passing. You can imagine the grinding defence of Ant and Butler on the perimeter with KG as an anchor coordinating everyone, and Love just chucking every turnover or block down the court to Ant or Butler for an easy jam!
The starting lineup defense is absolutely insane. KG, Butler, and Gobert are genuinely elite defenders and Ant's pretty damn good himself. Marbury was somewhat of a liability on D, if I remember correctly, but with that supporting cast, there's more than enough to cover up his deficiencies. He would probably be a better defender in this situation since he'd have to expend less energy on the offensive end. Interesting team indeed!
You should do a joint production with @CliqueProductions and let him take all your "Ultimate Teams" and do one of his famous 2kgame simulation videos so we can see which "Ultimate Team" would come out as Champion. Hell! Y'all could do a whole 5 episode series! That would be dope.
I missed Sprewell here. Sure, he had a short stint for the Wolves, but he averaged 18ppg in 03-04 while playing stellar defense. Was part of that iconic trio with KG and Cassell, going all the way to the WCF before bowing out to the Lakers. I feel he'd atleast be a good rotation player.
I think that I would move kg to the 5 and put love at the 4. It’s also wild that gobert is over kat. I feel that gobert would give the bench a good defensive identity
@@Ytndarren I cant wait to see the Ultimate Warriors They might be the guys to give the Ultimate Lakers a run for their money in the west The 50s championship stars + prime Wilt + prime Rick Barry + prime Nate Thurmond + the 2017-2019 Death Lineup + Run TMC is an insanely stacked roster
My favorite team, we don’t have the history to make an amazing all time team but I really like the roster u put together. Defense is the wolves identity and that could maybe sneak them in the playoffs
Butler and Garnett…wow what a perfect pairing. I actually wonder if Rubio would be better starting with that first group, then having Marbury lead the second unit. This group actually has amazing bigs…when Jefferson is a rotation big, that’s a pretty solid position.
@gugga2745 wally being one of your best players is crazy don't get me wrong he was a great plyer for sure but compared to every team, he doesn't stand a chance
@@999lilo oh yea trust me id know a lot about wally i graduated from the same hs but like, he aint that good. his career highlight is getting jump kicked in the head
You have to start KAT for the shooting with those other starters. There is enough defence and dog with edwards, butler and KG. I'd take spree or Brandon over Russell. And you need to find a spot for Gugliota. He was so under rated. He was their best player, by far, in the early garnett years. Maybe over Wiggins, who was inefficient with the wolves.
I feel like in terms of team structure you made an error with Garnett/Gobert and then Love/Kat. The first has all the inside presence and defensive effort. The second has all the outside shooting and isn’t as good defensively. Should have shuffled KAT or Love to the starting C to space the floor better. Imo All the names were correct though!
Considering this team is a relatively young organisation (89-90), and they shot themselves in the foot with the the whole Joe Smith thing - they have had a bunch of nice players over the years, particularly at the power forward spot (arguably the second best; arguably the greatest 3pt shooter; arguably one of the greatest college players - then still have Love, Googs and others). But as much as they have had nice players, the starting lineup put together here is mostly defence with no outside threats, that spacing is going to hurt. I would swap Towns into the starting Center spot alongside Garnett (despite Butler issues) and have Gobert and Love running together on the second unit. I would also consider swapping Cassell in for Marbury - in fact for chemistry reasons I might consider taking Marbury out completely for Mike Conley or Terrell Brandon.
Jordan's oldest on one wing and Jordan's youngest on the other. Wonderful! I need the starting big man to be Kevin who used to be truly great on the Timberwolves before he was slightly less great on a superteam in the East and won exactly one ring. The current big men can go be on the second unit.
Sprewell is on of my all-time favorite players. He gets overlooked a lot for off the court reasons, but he was a two way monster. The game misses players like him who brought it every night.
Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin The Big Ticket Garrett finally gets some help, with Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, Kevin Love and his outlet passes, Rudy Gobert on defense, KAT with scoring, Sam I'am, DLO with ice in his veins, Wally reliable, Al Jefferson a big body, Andrew Wiggins, Isaiah Rider for highlight reel dunks. I didn't know Starbury started his career with the the Timberwolves and his street ball style. Good team could upset teams playoff chances.
Garnett and Butler are monstrous defenders so I would start Towns with them and bring Gobert in from the bench. I would also find a spot for Latrell Sprewell.
The team looks interesting but I have them being one of the weaker teams. For the most part it has a bunch of solid players that didn’t really accomplish much as a team. I think Jimmy would go crazy on some of these players. Personally I would have put Sam in the starting line up. There is already good offensive players there and he helps make them more stable if less flashy. I also would have put Sprewell instead of Wally on the team. Wally was a good shooter but he was a bad defender, Sprewell will bring more defense and heart. With the right coach and a mentality of having hungry veterans leading the way I can see them being a tough team. Of course if they start to self destruct, Jimmy, Sprewell and KG would make for an entertaining story.
I think this team, of all the small market lower tier teams, has the potential to be a big upset in the making. The sheer talent in that starting 5 is crazy and when you can legitimately say your small ball line up would be Love and Garnett at the PF/C positions you can run with anybody. Also the problem with most teams in this ultimate teams for me is how are they are going to handle franchises like the Lakers and Celtics who have a history of elite big men like Shaq/Wilt/Kareem and Russell/McHale/Parish/Garnett who are almost always going to dominate in the paint. I think this team is uniquely situated to be able to handle that problem better than most franchises.
I would have selected Pekovic rather than Jefferson, just because this is the spot of someone who is not going to play at all, and Pekovic is useful just sitting here and being scary. Even more so now that he's retired and as *hum hum* "other" activities. By the way, whenever American players or media members are going on a rant on "soft Europeans", I always picture Pekovic being in the same room at them and giggle a little.
I think it would be better if there's no duplicate players in every team. Only one team for each player. Cassell Ant Rider Jefferson KAT Cassell Tony Campbell Wally Gugliotta Pekovic Pooh Richardson Rubio Corey Brewer REMOVE: Marbury (Nets) Butler (Heat) KG (Celtics) Gobert (Jazz) Wiggins (Warriors) Love (Cavs) Russell (Nets)
It’s not about a “groove”, it’s about relative depth. Teams like the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, etc, have been around for 70+ years. That’s more than double the amount of time to acquire talent.
I would have added Christian Laettner over Al Jefferson. Laettner's stats were somewhat comparable to Jefferson's and he brings a toughness element to the bench. As an added bonus, he was also an asshole and adding him might put this squad into the top 3 of the greatest team of assholes" list.
@johnnyarnett Was there a reluctance to move KG out of his natural position in order to put Kevin love in the starting lineup? And with the way you set up the lineups what do you think the big man minute distribution would look?
I think thats kind of impossible though. You're not gonna start Love over KG, so are you gonna have KG or Love at Center or Small Forward?? Thats not ideal to either of those players. Can't find a seamless way to make that work.
@@jonnyarnett I kinda agree I just dont feel like Rudy should be starting, I get he’s a above average defender and a good rebounder but Kevin love is a good defender and was a rebounding champ
I can see that. I just prefer top tier rim protection in the starting unit. I also feel like you gotta be wary of Jimmy and KAT being in the same unit. lol
Ricky Rubio Doug West Wally Szczerbiak Kevin Love Kevin Garnett Terrell Brandon Tony Campbell Sam Mitchell Gorgui Dieng Karl-Anthony Towns Tom Gugliotta Christian Laettner Nikola Pekovic
Lowkey… considering there’s are there best players they could do some funny shit run love at the two since he’s a shooter, Garnett at the 3 for perimeter defense against heavier guys, KAT at the 4 and Gobert at the 5. A workable real tall defensive lineup and It also wouldn’t be Beach to put Jimmy at the 1 since he facilitates
I know Latrell is an absolute lunatic but the guy was good. I cant remember if he was better with Twolves or NY but he coulda took Szcerbiaks spot I reckon
Almost certainly Flip. I should have been doing coaches since the beginning of the series, but I thought it would be weird to start in the middle of it. I'm gonna go over all the coaches when we do the 2k simulation.
