It's both weird and wonderful to watch a full match with no play by play commentary, just the announcer, the sounds of the match and the cheers of the crowd. The best era of wrestling, in my opinion.
Warrior was a true power house, but Savage was possibly the best character the WWF/WWE has ever seen. Stuff like this reminds me of how annoyed I am with Roman’s title reign where he seems to have fewer matches than an actual fighter in a year.
Unreal how much agility and athleticism Savage had for a man his size. I’ve seen him a few times jump from the ring to the floor almost effortlessly, and he gets up to the top rope very quickly. Enough skill to carry a match with Warrior for almost 10 full minutes.
I recently watched one of these mid 80s shows and seen Savage do that top rope clothesline spot that he always done. This specific match he grabbed the guys hair and jumped over the top rope without even touching anything. I had to watch it again because it didn't look real. Crazy athlete.
Man of his size? Lmao, you make it sound like he was 6'10" and over 300lbs. He was 6ft and about 230, not exactly a big man by 1980s wrestling standards.
Three of the greatest legends. Rude doing his thing outside the ring was hilarious. I can’t believe they are all gone. This was the best time for wrestling.
I know I couldn't get over Rick rude outside constantly flexing at ultimate warrior lol even though the warrior was ignoring him he just kept doing it😂
Something that I’ve noticed with Randy and some of his wrestling peers is that he would clap before clotheslining his opponent. I don’t know if this was an intentional signal or something. It definitely didn’t take away from what he did in the ring. He is a legend that’s deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Macho man had a few matches with ultimate warrior in house shows in 1989 and this was a good match and had they had a final match at summerslam 1992. Sadly both are gone life is too short.
Macho will always be my all time #1 favorite! He could just do it all with ease. Face or heel, on the mat or in the air & amazing on the mic. The best. Love warrior so much as well. You can tell these 2 really got along & enjoyed working with each other. The Ultimate Maniacs were the team & it’s such a shame we only saw one wrestling match as they sprinted to the ring together. Love Rick so much as well. Incredible worker & another one gone way too soon. How are all 3 no longer with us……smfh
Listen to that crowd pop; no audio mixing tricks there. It's pure positive energy, no crotch chopping or other stupid junk. Maybe monopolist-Vince will croak and we'll get it back some day.
Vince has nothing to do with the fact that every incoming generation of males are mostly no-personality, soyboy gamers. The days of characters and personality are gone.
@@butchvito vince is a soyboy, he's surrounded by a bunch of "yes men" to protect his glass leviathan ego. Nothing says "soy boy" like joining the vince "kiss my a$s club" > maybe he did have something to do with it after all
No stupid huge fireworks, floating AI generated crap blocking the view, no overdubbed crowds or overdone music entrances-just raw energy. There will never be a period like this.
The was my favorite ERA in wrestling when we had the Hart brothers, Randy, Warrior and many of WWF/ WWE BEST wrestlers. Sadly now, a lot of them are gone. RIP Randy, you are so missed. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the energy the warrior showed each and every time Warrior was and still is an inspiration for all LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU DEARLY GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN RIP WARRIOR 😢😢😢
Yeah, I feel that too. As a kid these people were my heros but hearing about how warrior treated people and lived has made me feel I cheered for the wrong guy 😔 randy savage is the man. R.i.p thanks for this upload as it reminds me of .y childhood, one of the good memories.
My all time favorite wrestler. . RANDY SAVAGE. . THE BEST EVER. in my opinion. . Savage is da man. Love randy Savage. . Miss him so much. . REST in peace brother. 🙏🙏😥😥🙏🙏😥😥🙏🙏😥😥. NEVER FORGOTTEN. . 💯❤️💯❤️💯❤️💯❤️💯❤️💯❤️💯💯💯💯
Definitely in my top 3. Would say Macho Man, Warrior and Undertaker for me. Such a long list of iconic characters that it was just a great time to be a wrestling fan. Very entertaining.
Golden age of wrestling. There will never be characters like the ones during that era IMO. These two, Piper, Brett Hart, Hulk, Shawn Michaels, Andre, Flair and the dead man Undertaker just to name a few from a long list.
Could be wring but jt seems he doesn’t understand little details of how to work. Like for instance if you were gonna grab a guys head and smash it in the turnbuckle you let the opponent essentially do the work and make it just look like you are slamming their head in the buckle etc. however i dint really know. I do know what he did to Bruce prichard with just a few of his basic moves knocked his teeth out etc. lots of stories about him. He also at one point not ling after this match , broke either both or one of machos wrists in a match. According to Sgt slaughter at Royal Rumble 91 macho legit knocked him out with that scepter shot to the head as a receipt for it.
A title-for-title match for Ultimate Warrior with Savage while he was WWF world champion would've been a pretty big draw, but this match and others like it were the closest that would be to happening. Warrior's push at that time was his feud with Rick Rude, which did produce some really good matches. Add to that the fact Savage was already an Intercontinental champion during his WWF career, there probably wasn't a whole lot of interest for that sort of angle.
Was not the first time WWF champ faced the Intercontinental champ. Not even close. Hogan faced both Savage and Greg Valentine when they were Intercontinental champ respectively.
Say what you will about how the fights are choreographed and fake, Warrior still did lift Savage up over his head and caught him in flight off the turnbuckle. That's some crazy all over strength.
Funny thing is that despite there being no comms; if you've watched enough 80s WWF you can totally imagine the play by play from Jessie & Gorilla anyway.
I did not know that until now that Ultimate Warrior and Savage had a match when there were both champions . This must have been right before Wrestlemania V
Warrior was very good entertainer more than Hawk Hakan and more than Undertaker. Best aggression he had when every wristlor down warrior did stand because of his unforgiven stamina. Legend of WWE.
First thought was, I LOVE YOU TUBE!!! And then as the match went on more of my thoughts were,, I love this! Is the referee wearing a bow tie😄? What's Ravishing Rick Rude doing there🤔😆??? Why is Macho Man letting Ravishing Rick Rude get tossed up in the ring after he had just been helped by him🤣? He was over there bickering with the ref lol. And during this entire match well knowing how impactful it and other matches were I'm getting flashbacks of the 80's and 90's with my cousin and how my uncle had us into wrestling😉. As someone else said in their comments, wrestling will never be this great ever again!
Most the great wrestlers are gone, the lifestyle back then was so rough, Still is, but everyone was on Roids and Heavy drugs, getting beat up everynight for years just for our entertainment and a few bucks.
