It's great to see the birth of a tool, I have one like this, very similar made by some woodworker probably before my birth. Thank you so much for sharing, including the soundtrack and image editing.
J. D. Parden Thank you JD, Grizzly makes awesome band saws and there affordable, I think it’s the GO555 14” is the best bang for the buck? Someone will know? Thanks for subscribing, I’m working on the next video hopefully out early part of August 👍
Really awesome video. The quality and music we're good. That shoulder plane is flawless. Looks like you had a blast making it too. I end up having more fun making jigs and tools, I guess because I'm using scrap and I'm not stressed about destroying an expensive piece of wood. I live in Alaska so everything that has to be shipped is expensive. Luckily tho I'm coming up with a bussniess idea and I'll be able to purchase lumber at wholesale.
Thanks you so much for your kind words. Your right on I had a blast, making the video and now I have a cool tool to use for the next project. To reduce wood cost Ive been cutting my own wood with my chain saw logosol jig and air drying. In fact I’m about to use a whole bunch of quarter saw white oak that I milled 4 years ago. Wood cost ZERO! Thanks for subscribing.
Nice video -- I appreciate how you mixed the audio -- with the nice balance between the work itself and the music overlay. I had a visceral reaction when I saw you spraying water over the MFT top -- does this not cause an issue? And I'm curious how much you're using the MFT since you built your handtool bench?
Hi Biedawo, Yes you got me, spraying water on an untreated MDF is a bad idea, but when I bought it I cunningly painted it with wood sealer expecting one day i'd be dum enough to do such a deplorable act on a Feestol MFT Table! I initially bought the MFT table because I was going to do cabinets for our house, that's mainly where the MFT excels, combined with the track saw, but once I got done with my cabinets I've found plenty of other uses, such as when I domino small part like in the last video i did on the White Oak Cabinet, the parts ended up so small it would had been difficult to hold them down in any other way. The other issue I have is I don't have bench dogs in my hand tool bench yet, but do I plan to add them at some point, (possible video idea....) so maybe then the MFT its usefulness will slow down, It also works great as an out feed table for the Kapex as they’re both the exact same height, those clever little german designers , you gotta hand it to them, lol Hope this helps.buddy. Michael Excellent questions, BTW
@@GopherWoodshop sorry I wasn't trying to sound rude but I dont like music during woodworking videos. A little melody isn't too bad but I hate the singing. Personally I like hearing all the tools. It makes for a better experience, But I'm just 1 commenter. But I did like the shoulder plane. Turned out really nice. Good job.
@@brandonjohnson7787 😀 It's all good mate, I welcome all comments, and I appreciate the feedback, i'm doing this for you guys the Gopher Woodshop Community, I want my highly valued first 1000 subs to me the driving force when it comes to the direction of the channel, i'm really stoked you liked the shoulder plane.
