Serfs want Kosova, like Ukronazis want Crimea = exact same case. All the rest is blablabla sheeple-level shittery, like this ignoramus style shitty clip...
Every one of your videos includes this message: a bunch of woke liberals with no actual history are ruining foreign policy. I actually agree with that, roughly speaking. But the way you present that message gets in the way of what I am actually here for: learning history or tactical insights. I don't actually think I have much tactical to learn from you, which is the proof I must be wrong, since that's just hubris, albeit grounded on experience. That just leaves history. Ok, so a 5-15 minute history of Kosovo/Serbia would be brilliant! I would love it! Instead I have to put up with fan service gym bromance. To tell me stuff I've mostly already figured out myself. Oh, but what if I am wrong? So I feel chained to watch at least in the background. But the Kosovo conflict is a small winnable one and is still on warm, not boiled over. I guess what I mean is: this game isn't worth the candle. Maybe 3 videos 1 on actual history 1 on implication of history for current tactical problems and 1 on bromance with gymbros so I wouldn't have to hear the grating fan service? I mean, if you hate liberal internationalists for ruining foreign policy I agree, but then you have to actually change their minds. Servicing your fanbase won't do that. Now make a 5 minute video about NATO and Kosovo which can be credibly presented at a NATO general staff meeting attended by politicians of all views. That would be useful. Something objective, factual, and stable enough that people you fundamentally disagree with will be nonetheless compelld to take up your views. And that is exactly what Sun Tzu meant by SUPREME EXCELLENCE IN THE ART OF WAR IS TO SUBDUE THE ENEMY WITHOUT FIGHTING. Now go do it.
2 seriously important facts missed in the video that came to my mind straight away: 1. NATO bombed Serbia with depleted uranium which causes the worst health conditions and cancer, irony is it affects also Albanians and even foreign soldiers, google about Italian soldiers who sued NATO for getting cancer in Kosovo 2. Wikileaks showed that CIA and obviously America considered KLA (Kosovo liberation army) as terrorists, and still they armed them, trained them and helped them fight against Serbia
As a Serb I agree with you, I would gladly give away Kosovo to Albanians as its Radioactive wasteland right now.....they bombed the shit out of the Kosovo
If I had to pick sides I'd pick Albania simply b/c the Serbs were so maniacal in the 90's that they shouldn't have been trusted w/ Kosovo. That being said I think the US & Europe also secretly aided the Croats against Serbia (maybe for the same reasons). My source is a 2nd hand account in an article or history book (can't remember) where the Bosniaks were complaining about Croatia stealing 70% of the military aid earmarked for them in the UN arms embargo NATO was allowing be selectively enforced.
and you for sure believe that UFOS landed on Serbia?? stay positive and look at the future and get your facts right. There was shit done on both sides , but we as people have to look forward and need to get solutions on both sides and not to mentioned negative actions done in the past which are not 100 % straight. May the GODS be with you and enlightened you with the truth of Kosovo People!
Every time I talk to a pro Ukrainian friend and bring up NATO’s aggressive wars they always say “but the people there wanted our help!!” And then completely write off everything Donbas civilians say as Russian propaganda
@@vrrooooommmm123 No one is saying that Ukraine should not exist. Moreover, Ukraine had the Minsk agreements signed on its hands, in which the entire Donbass was Ukraine (Except Crimea, which is historically Russian and has great strategic importance for Russia). But Ukraine did not fulfill the agreement, for which Russia recognized the independence of the LPR and the DPR in 2022(Yes, yes, in 2022, and not in 2014, everything began to shine only from Ukraine) and then Russia came to the aid of the republicans.
The autonomous province "Kosovo" is properly called "Kosovo and Metohija". Kosovo in Serbian means field of blackbirds and Metohija in Greek means holy land (because of the thousands of monasteries and churches in that area. Many of them from the Middle Ages and on the UNESCO list of protected monuments, many of them destroyed by Albanian separatists). It is no wonder that the Albanians removed the name Metohija, since they secretly know whose country it is.
Metohi (Metohia plural) in Greek means the plot of land belonging to a monastery. During the medieval times the church owned the fields around the monasteries and they had a special tax status and some times some sort of autonomy.
@@Sola678 I did not forget. Even today, Albanians invent new names for toponyms in Kosovo and Metohija and give them Albanian names that have never existed in history.
This is the first time that I heard such detailed and truthful explanation of Kosovo conflict. A short reflection, you forgot to talk about the UN resolution 1244 and how the west "forgot" about it. Also, Serbia stayed more then 80 years independent after Battle of Kosovo 1389.
Yes, random RU-vid author and commenter are more suited than the ICJ/World Court to interpret UN Resolution 1244, which was judged not to be conclusive resolution on the status of Kosovo. Serbia has brought cases before the ICJ, meaning it recognizes its authority. Serbs always fail!
@@haroldbell213The president of Kosovo wants war, I remember when he said that a few months ago, of course the president of Serbia does not want war because he wants to politically return Kosovo to show the truth and not bloodshed.

I am Uzbek I read that Timur during a war saw Serbs fighting fearlessly and said "who are those Christians who fight lions?" Much respect to both my Muslim brothers and the Serbs. We are not in medieval times anymore. lets learn to resolve conflicts without blood.
That's true, he let all Serbs go including Stefan Lazarević himself because of how amazed he was with their fighting. Lazarević was one of the best knights in Europe at the time and his force "oklopnici" among best equipped ones.
What Timur did helped Serbia out in the end because it threw whole Asian part of Ottoman empire into complete chaos witch led to Serbia being able to get independent from Turks again so I would say that it all turned out well in the end. Do you know Russian by any chance? If so can you tell me if this add about Timur is historically accurate? And if so in what war did he do this? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AgJBKWryu0g.html In case you don't understand Russian it it is saying that he ordered his soldiers to throw rocks next to the road when they went to war and then when they came back whoever survived picked up their rock so the rocks that where left there would represent the ones that died. And Timur would then go to these rocks and talk with them remembering soldiers that died. Is it something that he did every time he went to war or is this from some specific war that he fought? I know about Mongol tradition of making Kurgans out of of rocks but I don't know if Timur or anyone else would go to these rocks and talk to them as we in Europe would do when we go to tombstone of a friend or a family member.
@@branilavvasic9727 Aha, that coincide well with making piramides of skulls of the enemies. Another nice tukic tradition exercised here. We have an object called the "Chiele Kula" in Nish to remind us of that.
Serbians do not hate Islam, that’s a big lie, our problem with Albanians is ethnic. In serbia we have big muslim population, and we live together as friends.
I am an American descendant of Orthodox Christian ethnic Bulgarians from Macedonia. Sadly, my Bulgarian relatives have fought their Slavic Serb brothers on several occasions, but I do hold the Serbian people in high regard, and wish them all the best!
You can choose to be feel brotherhood with them but just remember they not only committed war crimes against my people (Albanians) but also against their fellow Slavs like Bosnians and Croatians. Serbian government doesn’t care about brotherhood they care about power. The war crimes committed by Albanians against Serbs was way lower than the war crimes and massacres they committed against us. If you don’t believe me just search for “list of massacres in Kosovo war” on google.
@@THELORDVODKA what are you talking about even buddy, Slovenes stolen their culture and land, what? As an American i have long disagreed with my governments foreign policy. The more i learn just how diabolical they've been, i can only hang my head in shame.
There's a lot more to this story. Milosivich was tried as a war criminal, and convicted. The US involvement was more due to the attrocities commited by Serbian forces. Not picking sides, but trying to limit actions.
This issue has dragged on for too long. The UN established a very dangerous precedent by uniterally declaring a part of a sovereign country an independent territory. Kosovo wasn't a colony. Also, ethnic Serbians were indigenous to the territory. Removing Milosevic from power for his crimes was the right thing to do. Creating a failed state from thin aire(A UN specialty: Look at Rwanda and Burundi) was a huge mistake that is going to reignite a war any day now. Just so you know: UCK crimes were tolerated by NATO. Today, that organization is a franchise of ISIS in Europe. Well fucking done, UN! 👏👏👏
As a Serb who sees both sides of the argument, i am really surprised by impartiality of this video. You have missed onto 2004 pogrom, but in reality you did cover that with what you said in general what happened after 1999. I agree. Due to Yugoslavia Serbs lost enormously in every aspect, while all others gained equally enormously in every aspect. Ironically, many ppl from former YU republics that were eager to leave it (especially Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia) are now grieving for the beautiful life we all lived in that up-side-down country.
Hey, it is easy to say that now. But think about Yugoslavia, and what Balkans could have been if during the whole of Cold war, you didn't have unity between ethnic nationalities present in Yugoslavia.. So instead of 50 years of brotherhood and cooperation, you had Balkans, doing wars between same groups, while having Soviet union and America whispering in their ear, also arming and funding different groups based on their own, daily interests.. It could have been like the 90ies but instead of having violence for 20 years, it could have been half a century.. What the Balkans would have been if Yugoslavia didn't exist, barely is worth thinking about.. Also, anyone old enough to have been an adult while real Yugoslavia existed, before Tito died, would never agree that their whole lives and identity, should have been left "as paper plans and never realized".. Most of those people like to think of themselves as Yugoslavs, not ethnic Serbs, Croats or Albanians, or Macedonians, Slovenians etc.. You catch my drift.
@@relight6931If most of them were "Yugoslavs" then how did all the wars happen? P.S. Brotherhood and cooperation - give me a break - everyone knows that the richest and most developed countries like Slovenia and Croatia were sucked dry by Belgrade to redistribute wealth to poorer Republics like Crna Gora or Macedonia. Not to mention that Serbs were given the most prestigious roles in most institutions; simply because the Serbs were the majority (and all Croats were Nazis) - we all know how that ended up.
@@filipkoric5360 I was using slightly hyperbolic dictionary. The OP idea was that Yugoslavia shouldn't have ever existed. My claim is that if it didn't exist, Balkans history during WW2 to today would be even worse. Do you disagree? His videos are indeed very profound. Still, every video on such a sensitive topic needs to be treated with caution. Despite his effort to consider both sides, it is not hard to tell that this video was to a certain extent biased towards the serbian point of view.
@@honras2029 I'm Serbian and I also see the bias. Yugoslavia took back the autonomy rights that were previously given, not only of Kosovo&Metohija but also for the northern province Vojvodina where I come from. The Albanian people had every right to start their protests during the 1980's. The fact is they were the majority ever since the 1930's and we know this due to the Serbian king that ordered a census to be made but the question is very simple, why should most money go to Belgrade? I also know the stories of how the Albanian people had been treated, if an Albanian family had a weapon the police would automaticlly seize it and they literally went door to door. We're talking about multiple decades of treating them unfairly, despite them taking hard jobs and having large families. It's all just sad but let's talk honestly, it didn't need to come down to a civil war if people had been nicer to each other.
1- I like how you just said snowball effect at the end and refused to elaborate. 2- I see this video as a great representation of the centuries-long conflict between us Serbs and Albanians. If you take away one thing from this video is that Albanian-Kosovo has always been driven by external countries for their own ambitions while Serbians have always been alone. No outside country has ever fought with Serbia over the Kosovo issue, while Albanians have always been supported by European Great Powers; Ottoman Empire, A-H Empire, AXIS, NATO.
Correct!! Great thing how you noticed it! Always same thing happen and when you check through history for any region where Serbs where majority same thing happen, like he missed the thing when on 1912 Serbian army made all the way to Skadar (today's north Albania) it was a majority of Serbs living there and then Austro-Hungarian gave ultimatum that if Serbian army doesn't leave north Albania they will attack Belgrade capital of Serbia and all of Serbian army was south from capital so by that ultimatum they returned back and of course Serbian people left with army, same thing happen in Bosnia in 19th century Serbs were majority there but after Austro-Hungary occupied Bosnia they made all laws against Serbs living there, from day one they made really tough to them to even stay living in Bosnia, bottom line Serbs for centuries didn't had any allies because always some great power wanted to occupy them and at the end they been left alone. One small correction is that Russia was always Serbian ally.Specially in WW1.
@accordingtothesokovian7645 Well not always and here is couple of things Russia did not back Serbs, when Serbia had war with Ottomans in 1876-1878 Russia provided weapons but not the one we asked for but some old ones actually we needed to buy weapons from France, and Russia supported Bulgaria also, and then on 1878 it was a Berlin's peace conference so Serbia won significant land but Russia's plan was different they had a plan of great Bulgaria with a lot of Serbian land where majority Serbs lived but at Berlin's peace conf other great power countries didn't allow for great Bulgaria to happen and they gave independence to Serbia,Bulgaria,Greece and Montenegro that year but Serbia got only 4 new municipalities so Russia had a different plan back then they wanted great Bulgaria who they could control with access to Black Sea.Also Russia didn't do anything to support Serbia in Yugoslav wars in 90's pretty much she only watched what happen also in 19th century in Serbia had 2 dynasty Obrenovic and Karadjordjevic whenever Obrenovic dynasty was in charge Russia didn't do anything to help Serbia because Obrenovic dynasty was more western oriented.

In the longterm, the battle of Kosovo sealed the fate of the Serbs for almost 500 years . Next NATO went and bombed Serbia helping KiM to get an independance going against all rules, laws, etc etc even their own NATO law of force to be used only to defend someones border and not the cut and severe it. Story goes on, not to mention that US politicians and generals are now owners of mobile networks, mines, coal refineries and such in Kosovo region. But its hard to explain all this to brainwashed west that are thought nothing in schools aside of their own country.
Lol, in every part of Ukraine where the Russian army is standing behind voters somehow 99% wants to join Russia, but few steps further where Russian army is not in control it's the completely opposite. 😂 This should make someone think....
What referendum? You mean that one 6 months ago in the middle of war when Russia didn't controll 100% of all the provinces in question? And with all those displaced refugees?
Yes, it is hard to explain facts to the brainwashed but here it goes. You mean the 2014 referendum that was held with less than a month after Russia occupied Crimea. When exactly did Lugansk and Donetsk hold a referendum? Ohh immediately after Russia occupation, Hmm. Can you show a law before 2022 that said all people in Ukraine must stop speaking Russian? No, the law was that Ukrainian language would be the preferred language of the government and taught in schools. While not mention in the video NATO air attacks on Serbia occurred while Serbia was supporting action of genocide in Bosnia.

It's not accurate for the period between WWI and WWII. Pecentage of the population was given for the period when colonization begins in early 1920s, but in 1940 it was 50-50 situation.
My grandparents had a holiday home near the border on the Austrian side and I remember as a kid the pretty nervous atmosphere with the adults (it was 91). Everyday we could hear explosions. Even as a kid I found it strange, the concept of "war" pretty near around us with me sitting at the lake having ice-cream and enjoying the holidays.
This is how people in Odesa live rn. My colleague brother is in Odesa and he says that everything is normal, apart from occasional explosion here and there lol. He says that after a while you get used to it and eventually ignore it.
9:59 As strange as it sounds, this period has profound influence to Ukraine. While most Serbian refugees settled north of river Danube in contemporary Hungary/ Austria, good score of them felt unhappy with life in Catholic country and decided to go further to Orthodox one, which was Russian Empire, in borderland areas which was situated in today's eastern Ukraine. Among others, Bakhmut city is founded by those Serbs. One far fetched standing claims that those Serbs even gave Ukraine it's name, from rehoming from one military borderland (in Hungary) to another one in Ukraine, since "Ukraine" translated to English basicaly means "military borderland".
Thank you for saying the truth evry other historian when thay talk about Kosovo war thay always started saying that the Serbs are war criminals and monsters but no one talks about the old history of that topic. Greetings from serbia brother and thank you🍻🍻🍻👍

21:07 this part is the story of my family. In 1922 my granpa was an albanian children from Babin Most (kosovo, north of Prishtina), a mixed albanian/serb village. One day some serb kačaks from Belgrade raided the village and stole goods from serbs and tried to kill albanians. The serbs from my granpa village decided to hide my grandpa and another albanian teenage who by chance was out on the fields with his livestock and got shot at his arm from long distance and found shelter in this serbian house. The serb patron of the house did not let anyone inside his house and kept hidden my granpa and the other albanian teenage farmer for one month until the situation turned safe again. After that, my granpa moved to Turkey, Izmir with the population exchange just like it's explained in the video. After 100 years, this story is known in our family, my granpa returned from Izmir to Albania and had 10 children and told to everyone about this serb man who saved his life. When the Powers created Albania, at least half of "Albania " were Greek people. 100 years later and mostly all Greeks have disappeared. The Greeks at the area wanted an independence from Albania but they were pursuated to remain part of Albania. Little did they know that rhey would soon be extinct.
There where ethinc serbs in Albania as well, some 10 to 15%. Now after 100 years of opresion they are virtualy all gone. Albanians are extremly agresive, in couple of decades there whil be a part of England trying to join Albania...
Same with Serbia elbasan was one of the capitals of medieval Serbia northern parts of Albania were heavily populated by Serbs, Skadar is one of the most important cities in our folklore, but through oppression of ottomans process of albanization made this small tribes of people suddenly take over whole albania, we have names of serbian families that became albanized and now no longer exist
The Greeks living today have nothing to do with the ancient Greeks. According to DNA tests, DNA tests on ancient-Greek skeletons reveal less than 10% ancient Greek genes in people who call themselves Greek today, while Greeks in Cyprus have almost 0% ancient-Greek genes. The Greeks living today are an artificial nation and were created to cause trouble in the Balkans and to be puppets of foreign powers. Albanians are the oldest nation in Europe and have lived in these geographies for tens of thousands of years, they aren't Indo-European origin didn't come from the east, they are the indigenous people of this region, their language is very unique. Although the Celts were massacred and destroyed, Albanians are still alive and are the oldest indigenous people in Europe today. It is unreasonable to compare today's fake Greek nation with Albanians. There was no Greek nation in Ottoman times, they called them Rum(Roman People), but there was always people called Albanians, you can see this from the archive records.

As a serb I sincerely thank you for even attempting to remain objective and impartial even though you are french canadian and couldn't be further away from the region in question. 😊What bugges me tho, is that at the start of the video, you asked the questions why is Kosovo so relevant to Ukraine why is Putin mentioning it every chance he gets and what are the actual implications of the Kosovo precedent etc. And then you barely adressed it afterwards😂 I think that instead of dedicating a large section of the video to the 17 - 19th century period (where btw you skipped how a big chunk of the serbian refugees actualy settled to Donbass in modern day Ukraine of all places😅), you should have delved deeper into the more recent geopolitical trends (last 10 - 20 years) and movements that lead to where we stand at the moment in relation to the current crisis between east and west. Otherwise love your content, keep it up! Tu es génial, merci mon frère!
What bugges me tho, is that someone doesn't understand what the similarities between the situation in Kosovo and Donbass in Ukraine are. After all, the same legal grounds were used - recognition of independence, then invasion on the basis of the collective defense treaty. One can argue about how right this is, but one cannot recognize the same rules as legal and illegal at the same time.
@@DartXL Well don't get me wrong I do get the basics of the arguement but if you really think about the whole comparison for more than 2 mins, it makes NO sense. Russia itself doesn't support Kosovo independence but wholeheartedly approved Donbass separatism and accepted them into the federation (talking about double standards). The legal grounds you speak of are non-existent, Kosovo was invaded despite the wishes of the UN security council and most european countries are very much against the invasion of Ukraine. So if anything, all both Putin and US/NATO are doing is juggling excuses for their imperialistic tendencies, which makes arguing over the role of Kosovo conflict pointless. Imo Putin invaded because of economic + geopolitical and strategic reasons. Kosovo was at best just a convenient Casus belli.
@@GK-cb3vc Despite the fact that the UN would not have approved the operation in Kosovo (the Russian Federation and China would have vetoed it), the United States prepared documents in support of the Operation Allied Force and submitted them to the UN, otherwise the rest of the world would consider them aggressors and violators UN Charter. The US circumvented some articles of this Charter by recognizing the independence of Kosovo and then defending Kosovo with preventive measures also in accordance with the Charter. Russia, according to its plan, did the same, recognized the independence of the LPR and DPR and launched a preventive operation to protect them, within the framework of the agreements concluded with them, based on the same paragraphs of the UN Charter. The set of documents and references to articles of the Charter is easy to compare. That is, the Russians developed a completely equivalent plan, and also limited the military contingent involved in the operation. But I understand why the Western media is silent about this. As a result, the United States, declaring Russia's actions illegal, would first have to punish itself for unprovoked aggression and war crimes against a sovereign European country Yugoslavia. Recognition of Russia's actions as legal would make sanctions against Russia illegal. And even if the US insists that according to the documents these operations are different, this will only prove their falsity. Thus, the Kosovo precedent proves that the United States is in any case an aggressor and a violator of international law. Regardless of what you think the Russians and Putin want, the law is the law and all sides must obey it.
South Sudan would be a good topic as well. Showing how elective West is in it "rules-based order", where two very similar situations can yield completely different results, depending on how it fits Washington.
In the same region of East Africa, it's telling that the West refuses to recognize the independence of the stable, functioning country of Somaliland whilst it recognizes the failed state of Somalia.

Congrats on the video, it is a valiant effort and will be remembered online. One important thing I would mention at the end is the ultimatum of NATO to grant Albanians the referendum of independence before the bombing campaign started and the UN 1244 resolution after it cementing Kosovo is Serbia in legal terms, thus defeating NATO's initial goal. They broke their word tho and backed the independence unilaterally. This is an important point as it explains the snowball effect. Also you should have given a shoutout to Kocayine and mention more of the Yugoslav war song scene, but, maybe next time.

It's fair to say, the intervention was a really bad idea for NATO powers. When albania entered anarchy in 1997, a significant portion of the gun was sold, or simply used by locals. By 1999, the albanian kosovars were armed, had supplies and were ready to enter a long guerilla warfare. Having Serbia face a 5-10 years long guerilla war would have been far better for us on the long term than this intervention. Except in the case of the mass deportation of albanian kosovars. Because let's face it, they would not have settled in Albania back, and having 2 million refugees in Austria, Germany, Italy and Greece by 2000 would not have been the best situation.

Cleansing Kosovo of Albanians, the reality stands at over 92% Albanians and 5-6% Serbs. I'm no math whiz, but one would assume that cleansing and killing would tilt the scales in favor of the perpetrators, right? I might be mistaken, but I'm sure the Albanians who believe they are Illyrians and claim ownership of millennia-old Serbian churches can enlighten us on the math behind these figures.
Yeah, that's quite interesting how after Serbs commited "genocide" in Kosovo their number dropped from 17% of the Kosovo's population in 1991. to just 4% of the population in 2011. At the same time, percentage of Albanians increased from 80% in 1991. to 94% in 2011. Either Serbs are the most incompetent perpetrators of a genocide out there, or Albanians and NATO bots are full of sh*t when they're trying to justify NATO aggression on Serbia by this so called "genocide".
Awesome job. A lot of history, and US and UK intervention that we will never hear about from our own media. This is why we keep making the same mistakes; our military misadventures are swept under the rug, and no one is ever punished. As has been said before, a private losing a rifle is punished harsher than a general who loses a war.
And this is one of the main reasons why so many people support what Russia is doing today in Ukraine, because nobody trust west and NATO because they always did shit like this than play dumb and innocent. Now people dont fall for that stuff anymore and now we have ...well this. And yes if you ask me ...they more than likely are doing same again in Ukraine and trying to act like they are just helping people of Ukraine, people around the world are getting sick of this playing dumb formula honestly. @gettonderg simply cause the census shows an almost complete serb majority,if albanians are autochtonus that means the would've been there or there would've been sources of some massive expulsion by the slavs, wich do not exist
@gettonderg they were assimilated, jugoslav ppl DNA although we are slavs has nothing to do with the DNA of our northern brothers ,Poles or Russians,in conclusion, albanians are not mentioned in any source before the 10th/11th century, and again,no sources of any massive expulsion, such events are always documented.
@gettonderg Entire Byzantine province of Illyricum was constantly under some sort of famine war or disease. Just before Slavs moved in there was literally huge plague during tome of Justinian that killed lot of people who lived in the Byzantine empire. Also people where just moving out of that region and going to richer parts of the empire. So when Serbs arrived there most of the area was empty of locals that lived there before and the ones that remained lived only in some mountainous areas.
No it doesn’t. Kosovo was known as Dardania back then. Also we never called ourselves Albanians and still don’t. That’s just a international name given to us because it comes from an Illyrian tribe called the Albanoi. Today we call ourselves Shqiptar which means people of the eagle since Skenderbegs flag was a double headed eagle. Before then we called ourselves Arberia. And before then we were Illyrians under the Byzantine and Roman Empire. The natives of Dardania(modern day Kosovo)either mixed with the Serbs or they migrated south into the mountains as we have always been mountain tribes people. Albanians didn’t magically appear out of nowhere. We watched the slavs come into our lands.
18:02 My ancestors were part of the settlment programme: My greatgrandparents, Isidor and Jovanka moved from central Serbia to Kosovo in 1920s in seach for a better life. They had pretty decent relations with their Albanian neighbours. Greatgrandpa was a brush maker and he was respected in the village near Peć. My own grandpa, his son, Miodrag went to school with many albanian children. He told me that the teacher who was a Boshniak used to beat and bully Albanian children for any mistake they would make. All in all, when the WWII came, neighbours advised my faimily to move out asap as Italian and Albanian faschist were arritving and there would be no mercy for Serbs. So they came back to cetral Serbia, hidden in a stack of hay. They settled near town or Rekovac. Later they moved Belgrade, then Kragujeavac and here I am today. Wars always induce migrations, which is biologicaly a good thing, if we are able to look past cultural differences and actually learn, understand and communicate with each other. And make mixed marriages and babies. Unfrotunatelly that is more often not the case.

Current ethnicity percentage isn't and can't be only measure who does Kosovo & Metohija belong to. There are numerous other factors like religious, cultural, historical background and property rights that affect that 'decision'. You can't be brought by mafia into someone's apartment, take his room by force and with mafias backing, and say it's "the new reality". And even try to make owner sign it on paper by force. And, after owner's years of slaved labor, torture, death and life threats to him and his family, say -" I've been in this apartment for ages, only I'm in it now, with my mafia, nobody can't touch me, even my kids live normally here. " . it's normal Serbs wanted their independence from Turkey and reclaim their sacred monastery land, rich in everything , specially spiritually, culturally, historically etc. then in 1912 - it's also normal today.

Instead, I went the route of being a philosophy major. . At any rate, you have an incredibly good grasp and you can deliver the lesson in an interesting way. That’s the key to many people unfortunately, history seems dull, but it’s not. We are all here because of what happened in history, your family and my family from the world you talk about we survived the plagues. We survived the wars the hundred years war the 30 years war, it all matters and it really does tell us what’s going on today is all tied back to the history. . That’s why when Putin wanted to explain that detailed history to Tucker he had to do that because he knows a few people in the West have any idea of how complex and deep seated so many of these issues are they have never left and they never will .
