Oh yeah. That shook me. It actually hit me really fucking hard When Odysseus's mom started singing, I damn near started crying. When a song can do THAT is when Jorge and the rest of the Epic cast deserves a grammy.
9 minutes and you’re already one of the top results when searching the underworld animatics hope this blows up soon it looks really good and envisions the song nicely
Your rendition of the spirits just being like memories (that's the vibe I get at least) is SO heartbreaking because it's not even like it's them there talking to ody it's just him watching as those memories float by. Also the part where ody's mom is just looking at the portrait of him is so heartbreaking I cannot. Edit: I also just want to say this is the first Underworld animatic that gave me chills and almost made me full on cry 😭
are you kidding me??? the transitions!! the baby!! whaaat??? ok excuse me while I leave it on loop for a couple of hours... you owe us some drawings of happy ody after this btw
This animatic was basically how I imagined this song already. Esspecially with thr part with his mom, you did an amazing job! Keep up the amazing work!
You absolutely NAILED 3:45 ! I was kinda worried it'd be anti-climactic, since its hard to make a such a monumental climax to the song, but the expression and everything was perfect. Great animatic!
This made me cry just as much as I did when I listened to the song for the first time, the best animatic I've seen for this song!!! So many details that bring everything together, your skills are incredible!
This animatic broke my heart and put the pieces in a woodchipper and then got those pieces and doused them in oil and then cooked them until they were charred pieces of ash and then scattered them over an ocean of my tears
The Polites part really makes the chills hit for me and its drawn so beautifully here. I dont know what the intent for it is, but I like to think its Polites still trying to support Odyessus.
These transitions and atmosphere are just so on point. Also the fact that while the death of so many of his men have been a consistent torment on his mind, its his own mother that clearly breaks him down. In those few moments he was a man, he was a son missing his mom.
Polites in Epic the Musical left such a big impact on me. His character as Epic portrays him is so much more profound than the book. It hurt me so much when I realized he was the one that died with the Cyclops, and called for Odysseus, and then sang in the "Underworld". I also love his piece, "Open Arms". You portrayed him so well too.
Dude this is by far the most emotional song in act 1 bro. Odysseus sees Polites and he is actually glad to see him. When he sees Antecleas he realizes that he was gone for so long that his mother killed herself out of grief and how she thought Odysseus was dead. No joke. This is by far the most tearjerking song of all time. I have a feeling that if there was a way for you to see your loved ones for one final time long after they've passed, it would be a lot more heart-wrenching. Homer knew what he was doing when he wrote the Odyssey. Jay knew what he was doing when he wrote this song. and Jay knows what he's doing when he's writing Epic. He knows how to make songs happy, sad, aggressive, and of mix of the three.
Wooow I really like how the parts of Polites, the crew's spirits and the whole sequence of Odysseus's mom were postrayed and animated Amazing animatic!
Wow. What an emotional rollercoaster🥹you captured these moments so well, I was already tearing up when polities sang, but when he realized he took too long, damn that hit hard.
I was not expecting to see the big man Hades( appear for a split moment. Makes sense though, he is more than likely aware of them entering Hades despite not making an appearance in the story. I mean if that is him lol
I already knew the Epic and Myths well, but the music makes it hurt so much. Then i start looking up anaimatics and now I start crying the second I hear Polites voice 😭
