Living with this disease involves a procession of medical, personal, and the occasional cosmic milestones ... like the total eclipse that we experienced in our region on April 8, 2028. The timing of the eclipse was less than two weeks following my second lung lobectomy that removed a further half a lung. I had known about this eclipse for almost fifty years and was glad that I had the strength to actively engage with it ... even though it ended with somewhat unfortunate if not comical outcomes.
But it reinforced once again, how important it is to be aware of and engaged in with all the amazing things that happen in life in addition to the non-amazing things that pop up every once in a while. Time is a very odd thing when living with cancer and if you let it get to you, it can be overwhelming ... or you can just surf the glorious non-linearity of time and enjoy the show that's playing around you! Peace!
