my dad hung upside down from the big beam going across the center of the roof to screw in the bolts with nothing but another person sitting on his legs. it’s always been his favorite part of his long iron working career.

Though it was cold, and I missed the encore, I managed to see David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd) perform here back in April 2016. Pretty cool stuff.

I think both the United Center and GR Field need to takes notes from the urban development done around Wrigley Field. Creating new urban spaces with hotels, stores, bars, squares and restaurant can reignite the west side and Bridgeport like it did around Wrigleyville. There's plenty of parking space that could be used for this purpose.

@@faceache_ you guys are lucky, I was born in 96 and I wasn’t fortunate enough to experience the Chicago Stadium, I’ve heard many great stories in that iconic building. But I also agree, it should be turned into a stadium.

well the stadium has been torn down for almost 30 years.

This was in the early 1990s. Back then, it was determined that it would be better and cheaper just to replace Chicago Stadium rather than to renovate it.

Because of the united center historic buildings were demolished to make way for parking. They could of easily constructed a parking garage.

How about getting the old barton organ console..back to chicago..from mr.molof ..home ..return it to the u.c. tie in the electric allan..give it what it needs. Re invest it back where it once belong yes it not a pipe organ..any more..so sad..b u t ..bring it back home mr.wirtz.. Remove a few seats plug it back in..it can be done.. Ty.

Will never hold a candle to the Chicago Stadium. Should have renovated or preserved the old stadium but this is what happens when greedy owners are in place.

I love the United center, but what surrounds it is a parking lot desert, If it’s not a game going on the area is dead. They need to add a Madison st cta pink line station and turn those parking lots into hotels and venues. Wouldn’t mind maybe a skyscraper or two around it either.
