I have lived in Manchester for 10 years... I am from Poland. I used to work on Oxford rd and I was always jelaous lookint at the students of Manchester Uni. I have been dreaming to study at this Uni. I did my undergraduate in Translation Studies at Salford Uni, which was a great experience and I do not regret a single day spent at that Uni. But finally my dream has turned into reality , because next week I am starting my Masters in Translating and Interpreting Studies at the University of Manchester . Manchester became for me even more magical place to be.
My parents think I'm crazy for wanting to study here. I'm from Oregon, USA so it's pretty far away. For some reason I'm just gravitating toward this uni.
Go for it! It's where I want to study next year, already applied. The city is immersive and full of life, plus you only have to be 18 to drink here lol
Hey...do we need a bright academic performance to apply for Msc human resource and industrial relations...I got more than 70% in 10th, 12th and UG..is that okay?
I read Economics at Manchester University, I loved it so much, I stayed and did a Master degree straight afterwards. After that, I had to face the real world. Economics was a great choice, it has been useful throughout my working life since. I want to add, The Dover Street Building is definitely haunted.
After all the splendour of his work with the BBC, it's nice to see Brian Cox in his humble office. He is still a hard working and productive professor, despite his other more glamorous commitments ;)
nice to see that they have taken the date of foundation of Tech (UMIST) as the date of the founding of the University! Owens was founded significantly later as I recall! As usual the engineers come first and the scientists prove the theories later!!
I have been in admiration of the university of Manchester. Alan Turing etc was excellent. I was able to employ a young graduate from Manchester who got first class in computing in the 90s for 20years. He still helps me out while I am in my 70s But I am ashamed of Dr Brian Cox and his arguments about environment. Until someone calls him out and puts him out to pasture I will be disappointed about that University. You need to be able to stand up against these academics who cost so much to the ordinary public.
Guys could someone tell me whether i can get a scholarship in ms in computer science? Im from india and i wish to have a research paper and GATE score along with an IELTS band score.
Tom CTID Looking at the wiki, it must be 10 years since the Victoria University of Manchester merged with UMIST. UMIST, of which I am an alumn, goes back to 1824.
