Seven years ago, when we rescued our sailboat Saoirse in Florida, there was never a thought of sailing her north. Never ever. It’s cold up there, right? Our sights were set on the azure blue warm waters of the Caribbean, and for the past five years, that's exactly where we've been exploring and living on our little floating home. However, life has a way of surprising us and despite the initial plan, here we are, on a journey to the furthest North we've ever sailed. The saying "never say never" truly captures the essence of our life out here on the water.
We have to be willing to embrace the unplanned, unexpected and unknown so we can truly appreciate this unpredictable beauty of life at sea.

Sorry I missed you at the boat show. I talked with Matt and Jessica late Saturday morning, but you guys weren't in the booth at that time. Luckily, the hurricane stayed farther out to sea and was mostly a non-event.

Used to do that sail newport to block and back. Twas fun in good conditions. Even have a wind chime that sounds like bouy 1b1.

According to what I have read and seen you need a reversible propeller to get good regen. See sailing Uma on their look into electric motors at a recent sailing show.

Thanks for the video. We were near Boothbay Harbor, Maine for that hurricane. We were told to stay north of New York before Oct. 1 to avoid the hurricanes, go figure.

Much easier to use a 4 or 5mm dyneema soft shackle to fasten the snubber to the anchor chain.

Great video, remembering what is was like from our circumnavigation in the 1980s, presently sailing the Eastern Atlantic for Brazil. My wife's book is a good read, published by Austin Macauley of New York, and available on Amazon, literally a fictional story of sailing and adventure: "Seychelle and the Cannabis Yachties". It is very entertaining, hoping you will give it a read and review.

you can get a smaller regen unit that you tow behind the boat and will turn much easier. and regen at lower speeds.
