Honestly, I remember this being one of my favorite battles I've ever watched in a D&d stream, just because they fully committed to saving all the civilians and actually succeeded, which you don't see very often.
One of my favorite moments is Brennan acknowledging like "these people were going to die in this building but you spent rounds and actions and spells to keep them up. You saved them" when Ricky asks about survivors. Something about it makes the New Yorker in me swell with happiness.
At 9:36, that's Brennan's Battle of the Bloodrush lesson (don't have your minibosses keep all the important plot points a secret cause your PCs are likely gonna merc their asses before an interrogation happens) at work. He's not gonna let Murph one-shot his exposition dump again!
haven’t rewatched this in a while but GOD the unsleeping city is so fucking funny while still perfectly carrying out its story beats. best PCs best NPCs best DM.
I really love Sofia's Bald comment, idk why. Maybe it's because my sister went through a shave craze a few months ago and is constantly cutting her hair, or maybe it's because I've been bald before, it's just super cool
Totally stumbled onto these videos one day and even though I've already watched all these episodes on Dropout I love to just come see everyone's favorite parts. And I'm early to see one!! Love these compilation vids you do!
Honestly, I feel like these are the best ways to watch combat-centric episodes like this one. I rewatched this a few weeks ago and found myself constantly skipping past as much of the combat as possible, it's like nothing is happening 80% of the time
thanks! it depends tbh, if an episode is 2 hrs then i can do it in about 2.5 hours in 1 sitting but usually i do about 30mins of editing a few days a week after work lol
