These are the UNWRITTEN Rules of Destiny. Since they are unwritten, most people don't know about them! But nonetheless, they are important to follow. They are kinda like the "common decency" etiquette within the game. From the specific armor pieces you're supposed to NEVER dismantle to the proper etiquette of emotes, this video covers everything you need to know. Also, don't take all of these 100% seriously... some of them are mostly a joke. Enjoy :)

Some of these listed items aren’t rules at all, more like curtesy or the lack thereof, especially when playing with toxic randoms. Coming from Warframe, I’m honestly disgusted by Destiny’s community. I’ve reported so many weirdos in the 200 hours of playing so far, so many of which were complete basement dwellers with thousands of hours played.

In protecting the New Lights, I add "Let the New Lights get the final kill". I like to whittle down the big bad to a sliver and leave the final shots to the noobie. Give them the rush of "I Did It!"

On crouching, there is one time you should always disregard and it is a very specific instance: you see a hunter in the heat of combat crouch twice. Odds are they are not trying to say anything, they are trying to dodge with no ability charge.

God I love doing this, my favorite time has to be when my friend rammed me into a wall during a VOG run, we got our sparrows to that ledge before conflux and we usually chill there for a bit before we start the rest of the raid, anyways he decided to kill me and then said “there goes flawless” and somehow got the whole raid team to bash me, great times, moment he got off his sparrow I returned the favor

My first rank up, I had like 15 people come out of nowhere dancing and doing silly things around me. Thats a powerful moment for a new player. So about 6 hours into playing the game, I was prompted to do that Grasp of Avarice. So I did it. Alone. At 1700. Day 1. 😂 Took like 5 hours and 50 lives to get to the final chamber and I got lit up like a birthday cake immediately. Still haven't done it since. 😂 But my aim is way better and I can tripple jump into a 5 gallon bucket from 100 meters now, so it wasn't a total waste. I went and watched a bunch of new player vids after that, cus the game does not tell you nothing about nothing.

All the other commendations should, of course, be spread randomly and evenly among everyone else. In 3 player activities, everyone should get 2 commendations, in 6 person everyone gets 3, in the new 12 person activity everyone gets 3. Also, the only exception is if someone gets 5 or 12 best dressed commendations in the 6 and 12 player activities respectively

@@jackalsniper892my reason for “everyone gets one” is that giving commendations leads to pinnacle gear from Hawthorne(I forget if it’s daily or weekly) and receiving them helps with guardian ranks. If you want a pretty passive source of pinnacles you need to give commendations

I believe I was part of the most amazing social space bond in D2 history. A bunch of random guardians equipped the drum table emote and we instinctively gathered in a circle playing the drm and on a clock wise rotation we send one person to the middle to dance for 5 sec then the next come in the middle to dance. 💃

11:52 Wearing bright colors is definitely an advantage at times. It's usually the shotgun apes that do it, but it's smart because your eyes are naturally attracted to the big glowing white blob rushing it's way towards you. So you and your teammates are focused on that while the players on the other team can either kill you while your distracted or complete the objective. That and some just do it as a power move.

as the finicky twitchy hunter of my group, jumping up and around all over the place stabbing stuff, being bright and noticeable is VEEERRYY useful. helps me guide everyone while i run ahead into danger for them and take shots, find cover and show where it is, make sure im not mistaken for another taken yknow? i've been in vangaurd missions before and i fr mistook two of my rando teammates for enemies and tossed a grenade at them cause they blended in with the chaos 😭😭wear bright colors yall PLEASE

Hmmm I just deleted those gloves - finally. It is time to break with tradition - a new shape is coming. My best experience in the tower is setting up a fishing emote off the edge before server maintenance for a season upgrade and encouraging a mass fishing event. I promptly screen shotted and shared for 'forever proof.'

#31, I have a few PvP emote stories I hold close to my heart. Once, some guy started playing patty-cake with me. It was so nice…until my teammate domed the enemy. Then there was the time I was in an Iron Banner match with my friend. We were the only two ppl on the team, so we just caramelldansen’d at each other. The other team, with 5, took notice, and soon swarmed us-not with guns, bullets, or bombs, but with sweet dance moves and a few hugs. By the times our teams were filled out, we had 5 minutes left in the match, and there was a guy on the other side who just murked us all with an Eager Edge Other Half. But that entire match felt a lot more laid-back and chill than any other Iron Banner match I’ve been a part of in recent memory. In fact, it was one of the best PvP matches I’ve ever partaken in, ever.

I frequently have occasion to set the team to go to the tower, and then get up and go do whatever kids or cats need while we fly in. My wife started randomly walking me over to various vendors, so I'd come back and sometimes be standing in front of Shaxx, Zavala, the Post office, etc. .... for like 2 years I thought it was a thing the game did, and you could load into the tower in front of vendors randomly.

I thought that everytime you level up you throw yourself off the ledge? I'm a new player and seen this a couple of time's, so obviously i follow suite when i level up i jump off the balcony. But I've never seen anyone group round a guardian when they level up, maybe because there are so many new players like myself i and them didn't know this. Also I'm terrible at the jumping mechanics, but amazed and grateful that so far nobody has got annoyed with me, and often shoot where there's a better place too jump. So far this game seems to have a really cool community, i often bump into a high level player and he/she will give me a emote, then i respond with an emote. For me this gives the game a feeling of family, we all know at first certain things are hard, and it seems alot of the OG gardians are very supportive of new player's. Used to be like this in division 2, but now its not so much, still has a firm fan base but nothing like destiny has imo, so glad i started to play this game again, at first wasn't too much into fantasy games, now i think they are actually the best, especially the community who love the Lore. I stop at every part to listen to the story, so i understand what I'm here for.

Revisit: I would add one rule. Do not kick people with extremely high stats from your or talk down to them before you see what they can do because they have weapons or a setup YOU think would not work. They might very well carry your team and put you all to shame with damage done to the boss with that sidearm for a PRIMARY, and you would have just lost out on an easy run.🤟😼

Don't put your Stasis crystal in the line of fire, especially when your team has created a choke point

? That's where it should go. It's an explosive. An incredibly strong one too. You benefit from it going up and exploding in choke points. Your half second of not spamming Calus Mini Tool is worth the explosion. Forbearance will also chain detonate it for even more blast. Headstone means it'll show up there regardless, your teammate gets no say, and Stasis players can 1 tap it to get back grenade energy for more turrets, so it's ideal to leave it alone for your teammate to break it, but if it's still there after a few seconds (longer than a reload), go nuts. An artifact this season will spawn them periodically, so your stasis player may not know it's there.

My friend and I were playing D1 and did a raid with some solid peeps from a LFG. When we finished and all headed to the tower, someone noticed how ridiculously stupid my buddy’s gear set + colors looked, which none of us noticed until they mentioned it. We proceeded to make all of our characters look as stupid as possible for the next hour or so in the tower and we were pretty much all in tears laughing. about the rule when doing boss dmg face i also think it should be a rule for titans in some boss dmg face not to spawn there baricade i am a titan in destiny and in the boss dmg face i use truster to acktavate the rockets from hazerdous propulsion that way my team wound have to distroy my baricade or get blown up by there own rockets

I'm that speedrunner in Vanguard ops. Yes, I know, but I will revive you if it doesn't require me to backtrack. If I can get to you with one swipe with eager edge, I'll revive you. I'll also revive anyone immediately when they go down when we're fighting together.

I stopped back in the middle of shadow keep, but I'm back after almost 5 years. The game is very different now, but so am I. I'm actually glad to be back after so long!

A lot of these are completely irrelevant and a matter of opinion. Some are extremely important. I do feel like saying "Unwritten rules" is like a scapegoat way of making shit up on the fly for content. When these making shit up on the fly type things are mixed with actual things you don't do like getting in front of someone's rocket, it muddies the waters on what is legit and what is bullshit.

More rules! - Twilight Arsenal axes are an exception. Any teammate can take them - In Gambit, if someone's invading and getting kills, do NOT invade. They're probably using a build to invade.

Actually for the trace riffle you showed (can't remember the name since I haven't been able to play since January) People don't usually care if you grab them as long as there are more than 1 out on the ground since if you are doing the proper build for it aka a volatile Build with gyrfalcon the orbs are just a nice fun new weapon added to the arsenal or a defense object for everyone to use if at risk

The random people I played with didn't wait for me to get near the banner and just rush into the boss fights. And whenever I'm playing something for the first time, I literally hate random players as they will definitely rush and ruin the whole event for me. Some of the reasons I prefer playing alone, but still I need to play with people to enjoy this game to its fullest... So I'll just wait for my friends to get rich🙂

in gambit, especially in random tems, STOP FUCKIN TAKING MOTES YOU DIDNT EARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know everyone hates gambit but i love it. theres not much more annoying (besides the guy who joins and stands at spawn and doesnt play all game) than the people who steal motes from other people's kills. if you didnt earn it, leave it alone. unless the guy who DID earn it is full, or dead.

Rule 20 is wrong. You can have these modifications for other games installed and you'll be just fine, they just can't be RUNNING when you open Destiny 2. That is where the guy who got banned went wrong, he had the cheating software open and the anticheat detected it and considered it an active threat. Same goes for pretty much every game with anticheat. Don't have cheating tools open when you launch them unless you want to risk getting hit for it.

Fun fact about rule 24... another good reason to NOT do this anyways is 95% of the time, it's what they WANT you to do. Most of the time, at least from my experience with over 12+ years of FPS gaming experience, they are cheating for attention anyways so don't give them the satisfaction they seek

a lot of these are team rules or clan rules. if youre playing with clan members and youre all talking on discord then yeah the one who fucked up gets to waste the banner. But when youre a solo player and 99% of your interactions are random teams and youre even in a solo clan with MAYBE 1 or 2 other people that you never play with just so y ou can collect hawthornes loot once in a while, in missions there is no "whoever screwed up places the banner" its more like "whoever has banners and gets there first and holds E first"... all the time this leads to double banners being put down. theres no benefit to double banners but it looks funny when 2 people play the banner plant animation at the same time and 2 banners are in the circle. i personally despise content that im locked out of becausxe im alone. like the new whisper mission. i tried doing it back in the day and never did it and ive tried like 15 times. in the past few days and cant get it. even with the unlimited time glitch because i cant spawn the ogre to trigger the unlimited time. i get 1 and a half bosses killed and time runs out. i shouldnt have to rely on the schedules of other people in order to play the game i bought and paid for. i HATE when they make you do teams and dont allow random teams..

the amount of times a NON strand teammember steals my tangles is super annoying, nobody uses a mic so i'm just ranting to myself howannoying these people are,worst part is they are not even blueberries so they should know better. or in Gambit when your team tyakes AGES to take down the two enemies you need to down for the boss to drop their shield and you try to let someon e else invade for once butnobody else does and you wonder why you are sorted into the worst teams out there...offcourse you lose the game because your team ultra sucks>

1. No one revives me ever & they leave me behind always. I’ll just be sitting there on the other side of the map. 2. People will not stop getting in the way when I’m shooting my grenade launcher at a boss. They constantly move around and when they get in front of me I blow myself up because of that. Sit still in the well of radiance geez.

That part about using swords to maximize your movement... nah get that bs out of your head and forget about it. There is nothing more annoying then some salty try hard using eager edge and sacrificing DPS just to make it to the next part of a strike slightly faster than his teammates.

rule 61: join all tower shenanigans yesteday i saw about 25 chinese usernames on the corner of my screen XD i went over to the hanger where xur usually is and in the elevated fancy room, there they were, all standing in a circle around one player. i headed into the room and asked whats up and after a few chinese messages i couldnt understand, some guy said "destiny 7 year birthday photo" and then "come join" so suddenly im in a random Chinese friend groups annual destiny photoshoot. mind you i had the most disgusting horrendous banable drip on XD i didnt even have the emote everyone was using, i just did salute emote and after a few seconds THEY ALL JOINED ME USING THE SAME EMOTE XD 10/10 experience i love my chinese homies on d2

Okay but Rule 61 is universal to ANY game with a social area. See a group of people emoting and being silly? You are legally bound to drop EVERYTHING and join in the silliness, or you’ll go to the no fun zone. Plus, dance emote groups are the perfect opportunity to join, afk for a few minutes to grab food and come back.

#30: This isn't "a player being addicted to invading." 99.9% of the time this is a player desperately trying to progress one of those seemingly endless sidequests in which they need to repeat an obscenely high number of feats that can only be achieved via invading in Gambit. At one point I had like an entire page of quests cluttering up my quest log that required agonizingly specific feats (like "sniper headshot kills" or "precision kills with a sidearm" or "fully-charged melee kills") that were exclusively progressed by defeating other guardians in Gambit SPECIFIACLLY as an invader (i.e. taking down invading players did NOT progress these quests). So, understandably, players get to the point of completely ignoring motes and AI enemies and just camp out on the portal And the reason they "suck at invading" is strictly because they HAVE to use garbage tactics (or at the very least weapons they may not use often or even like) in order to satisfy the irritatingly specific requirements of a quest. Like my comment on the other video this is 100% Bungie's piss-poor decision making and again one of the many reasons why I haven't touched the game more than maybe 3-4 times in the last 4 years.

I'm proud to have been one of the early crouch-walking, tower-stalking, trend setters in D1. I wish I could say I started it, but I don't think any of us really knows who or precisely when the tower stalking commenced. First it was just a way to harass in-game friends taking too long with their loadouts, then it became abstracted: "Hey, that guardian has a weird hat," or, "They're just STANDING there!" All I really know is that it was very important to never run. Only creep... Only creep...
