The hair is one of the most difficult things to figure out🤦🏽♀️. The products and routine I used to use a couple years back have changed an entire 180. I could never get box braids starting my hair journey and my hair loved crochet but now box braids is the only protective style my hair can stand and crochet is out of the question🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Yes, ma’am! 👏🏽 The air drying and long relaxer stretches don’t work for me-at all. Thank you for your honesty and for reminding us that everything doesn’t work for everyone, and that’s okay.
The last 2 points‼️ My hair hates air drying beyond 6 weeks post relaxer. The matting is crazy. I've tried 4 month and beyond stretching and retained length which had to be cut off because my ends were a mess. I'm trying out 8-10 week stretching now. I've been on my relaxed hair journey since December 2014 and still learning.
Downright the bessssssst video I have seen since I started my haircare journey 2 yrs ago. I wish I had this dose of reality when I started....I would have saved myself soooooo much stress. Dena I watch numerous YT videos on haircare and some I have just stopped over the past few months....because it is too much copying of what someone else is doing and not addressing the necessary realness of relaxed haircare. You hit a homerun once again with this video girl.
I just found your channel, and I absolutely love your content. I’ve been relaxed for most of my life, and your perspective is so refreshing. Great video💞
And once again she delivers. Thanks for the honesty I can so relate to everything you've said here. Anyone that wants to start a hair journey or is early into it, please they should watch this cos all dem people out there will frustrate you and have you thinking you don't know what you're doing. Thanks Dena amazing content. Please break down and share on IG this is soooooo Good. With love from Nigeria.
Thank you so much for being so frank and helping ladies like me realise that I am not alone 🤗🤗 These are issues that are rarely spoken of in the relaxer community
Come on Preach girl so true, everybody techniques, hair types, and genetic make up are different. So you will get different results.........it's all about knowing your Hair. Glad you touch on the emotions when comes to hair, i thought it was me alone.....these tips needed to be said in the hair community...
Sis I am natural and you are talking to me. I love your vids by the way. you are beautiful. I feel like I am struggling all the time with my hair. My hair is thin and fine and finding a look I am happy with is hard. I am getting better at accepting certain looks but you are so right. I know breakage because of anaemia. I have cut and cut and just have learned to be happy with where I am. If I ever relaxed again my hair is tightly coiled. It would be another type of learning. I go by what works for me, but I am living vicariously through you and your vids. Keep em coming please.
Yassss the air drying!!! I've tried so many time to find a way to air dry and breakage happens each time my hair just has always flourished with blow drying...not super hot but it needs it! And loves it 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 ty for that
Very true air drying is not for everyone and everyone’s hair type is different, sweetheart you are looking gorgeous in that hair 🤗❤️you spit some fact out there
I had to subscribe, you are speaking the FACTS. I cannot air dry for nothing and to counter the direct heat I roller set and do the hooded dryer. I do have a loose curl pattern, I do not subscribe to the 3A 4B nonsense as that is nothing but a marketing tool, but yeah my curl is loose and I relax twice a year with no issues. I also have a small hair supply in my basement if you ever run low and want me to spot you!
