This episode chronicles my solo journey through the remaining miles of the Northwest Passage. For 91 gruelling days, I battled relentless weather, the isolating vastness of the Arctic, and the ever-present challenge of self-reliance.
From breathtaking landscapes to bone-chilling storms, this episode captures the untamed beauty and unforgiving power of the Arctic. See me navigate treacherous waters, find solace in the desolate wilderness, and confront my own fears in the face of Mother Nature's fury.
This is more than just a physical challenge; it's a testament to human resilience. Discover the mental fortitude required to push through physical exhaustion, emotional lows, and the constant uncertainty of being completely alone.
This final episode brings this Northwest Passage adventure to a close. Will I reach my destination, or will the Arctic claim another victory? Join me as I share the emotional highs and lows of this life-changing experience.
A big thank you to all the Skotes and Supporters that helped make this trip possible, I will never forget the kindness of strangers. Thank you ❤️

Your short film packs so much into its brief runtime. It evokes the unimaginable soreness of rowing every day, the bravery required to face everything alone after losing Adam to his shoulder injury, and the unbelievable mental energy it took to keep going. Rowing alone in the ocean, never knowing when a whale might flip you over-it's hard to fathom rowing hundreds of miles alone. Yet, whether you're cooking or epoxying, you look perfectly comfortable. Your gratitude and relief for The Cambridge Palace, your love for the pure simplicity of life-listening to music, reading books, staying warm in a sleeping bag-shine through. You must have been utterly worn out, and you filmed the whole way, demonstrating incredible resolve in the face of adversity: "Get over it, fix my situation," and you did. The polar bear was a potential game-changer, and the devastating solar panel failure was tragic. Even after all that, you still had to walk to town in the middle of the night. It's inspiring, poignant, scary, uplifting, hopeful, and brave. Thank you for sharing your journey. I can't wait to see the final full-length film.

Well done! That was some expedition. If I build a rowcruiser I think I'll install a pivoting leeboard rather than a daggerboard. I've sailed a dinghy with a daggerboard and was always hitting something when in shallower water and the impact also weakened the daggerboard case resulting in a difficult to repair leak. My sailing canoe uses a pivoting leeboard which is much better.

@FATHERSOFBASS Месяц назад
I have a legit question here I love your vids by the way but instead of going backwards n not being able to see when it’s choppy why don’t you row forward??? Just wondering I get that there’s more power and sorts the original way n how it’s supposed to be towed buttttt forward I think would be better to see the swells coming towards you
@skoteoutdoors
@skoteoutdoors Месяц назад
yes looking forward would have been wonderful but the mechanics of how oars work when using them to row a boat you need to face backward. this way when pulling the pars through the water you can extend your legs and pull with your back. if you faced forward you would be squatting into it and pushing instead which wouldn't work well.
