I’m glad this worked for you. I’m the guy that made the original video about the IC17 issue. It was a lucky find on my part and a big issue for many people.
Had same problem had to wait 15 to 20 for fuel pump to prime other vidoes said capacitor did that no luck saw your vidoe and i tried it and it worked right away now no more waiting thanks soo much for sharing
I just want to say if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t fix my Honda fuel problem. I tried so many stuff and it was the computer. Thank you and keep doing a good job.
Thanks for the info. I got a p28 socketed for a s300 as well, was having the same problem. Had it in my lsv turbo ek, thought I had a short in my fuse box wiring cuz it kept blowing fuses. Took the ecu out put it in my integra and it turned over but wouldn’t start, just like my ek but it just didn’t blow fuses. Imma try this trick out sometimes and let you know it it goes.
I just fixed this issue. I swapped from obd2 to a chipped p06 a while back and it started having the same issue. Sometimes it would take 8min with key on before it would prime. My obd2 ecu had no issues so I swapped that chip and walla primes immediately every time
THANK YOU SO MUCH !! You saved me a lot of money! It is the IC17 TA8903SN emulator i heated it up a bit with a heat gun and the fuel pump had absolutely no delay at all! I will now switch that out but I will find someone with experience to do that for me. THANK YOU AGAIN YOUR THE MAN!
I had this exact same thing in my 92EG si with a GSR swap I had a grams fuel pump brand new new fucking relay and I’ll always have this issue when I was cold I would have to disconnect my fans because they ran directly just leave the key open for 15 to 20 minutes then the fuel pump with prime and I’m in ca Central valley it ain’t that cold out here lol never could figure it out I just lived with it
i have mini-vtec d15b, i had issues on expired unleaded fuel due to pandemic was not able to use the car for a long time, then my fuel line hoses broke down, hard starting, noisy walbro fuel pump. so i changed all the fuel hoses from my fuel rail, gas tank & fuel filter. i cleaned the throttle, drained the expired fuel changed it to premium gas, changed the air hoses. now the pump noise is gone & now engine is running okay but suddenly my check engine had a steady light when starting & had a rough idle. i tried to reset the ecu but it wont reset even i removed the ground terminal for 10mins. so i suspected the ecu might be the problem since we tried to plug my ecu to another car and still the check engine did not disappear and had the 2nd car running bad. when we placed the original ecu to the 2nd car it was okay, back to normal. so our suspect is my ecu is at fault. the next day after filling up my mini to a full tank of premium gas the check engine is gone back to normal again. but i still have my doubts on the ecu. so let me know where i can buy a reliable ecu obd1 out there..
Yep had the same problem with my p28 too. Wow. But I would have to put my key in the on position and let it set for 2 or 3 minutes before it would prime. Mostly in the mornings when it's cold out. I live in CA. But most of the time it would start right up. But sometimes it would fuck me. So I took out the ecu sprayed it down a good cleaning and I have never had the problem again.
That’s exactly what I did after I found a video on RU-vid before yours. But was the same thing, just heating up the damn little thing and starts like a champ.
Here’s the update. The car started without a problem after I heated up the ecu, but unfortunately this morning it didn’t start, assuming the thing got cold. What would you recommend me to do? Get a new ecu or buy that little thing? What is it called and where to find it? Thank you.
@@ZiggyIc1 hello my friend, juts an update and thank you for your advice and help. I did buy the capacitor kit replacement, did 5 of them and now my car is working without any issues. I didn’t need to buy or do ic17, but your help sure guided me where to go. Thank you.
Damn I got an auto and swapped it to manual and having fuel issue. Car is turning fine but no fuel and relay is clicking when turning over but no fuel at all. Gonna try the heat gun rn
Thank you bro im having this same issue I will try this cause Ive connected the pump directly to the battery, it works but its better to try this I let you know if I solve the issue whit this
I will try this out hopefully thats it, my 00 civic is not priming changed with new fuel pump and still not prime checked all the fuses and test good even changed the ignition fuse because I saw some corrosion but sill nothing even changed the main relay hopefully the chip is bad on mine also thanks man
Pumped dude! I ordered 5 of those things. I replaced and re chipped another ecu only to have the same issue. So then I put in my original p28 and it worked, only to have the same issue again. Every time it got cold lol
@@juanfranciscomendieta1797 I just searched it on eBay and found what looked like a reputable person. The one I bought was in a bundle of 5 for 50 dollars. So 10 dollars each
I think I have this same problem. I have a 92 Integra that has starting issues out of nowhere. I don't hear the pump prime and car just cranks. I replaced the fuel pump with a Denso pump, drove it for a lil bit with no problems. The issue came back and I wasn't sure why. I replaced the main relay since I always carry a spare. Then I verified the relay was good by checking all the signals and hearing the clicks. I verified the pump is good by powering it directly. I checked continuity from relay to pump, relay to ECU. When I removed the ECU the area was wet, fixed my water leak and figured the ECU might've gotten shorted. Oredered another ECU from Ebay but the issue was still there. Found a corroded ECU ground at the thermostat housing, cleaned terminal, replaced bolt, verified continuity to ground is good. The issue is still there. It's an intermittent problem. When I checked the signals at the relay, I wasn't getting an ECU signal at times. This is probably my issue! It makes sense because I would drive it to work and turn it off and on as soon as I would get there to make sure it starts (car/ECU was still warm). Once it was time to go home, it wouldn't start (after the car/ECU cooled down). I'm going to order that chip. I'll update when I confirm if it worked or not.
@@SIRICKO I opened up the ECU, found a couple leaking capacitors, one was blown up, not even making contact with the pins. I replaced all 7 capacitors and replaced the chip, my car has been running without issues ever since.
@@Alpha-cr5cb The capacitors were blown on mine. I also replaced the chip for good measure. My car has been starting every time ever since. What symptoms do you have?
My EG civic has the same problem. And my problem is that it is pretty hard to find a working TA8903SN chip. I recently bought one from AliExpress but it is not original IC. The car started with it but only in safe mode. (can't get the custom rom run). Do you know a good source to find good IC17?
--hi I have a Honda EG fuel pump not priming, pump, the main relay is ok I already changed the C14 capacitor, now could it be the IC C17 TA8903? I f I have to get a new ECU, the engine is D16Y1, do I also need to get the Key assembly. ( Im from Australia and the car has immobiliser)
Thats how some perfectly 92-95 civics end up at the junk yards with new dizzys , fuel pumps etc etc that the “mechanics” think it is and make people spend thousands and then end up at the junk yards
Thats my problem too in my p06 chipped ecu can i use ebay ic17? My problem is the last number if the ic is not the same in ebay its TA8903SN 9513k the ebay got 1205k its okay to use that one?
That happens when water leaks in the passenger foot well underneath the cowl there's a drain that gets clogged and causes it to leak that's why I take my hondata out before it rains otherwise the ecu board will get wet and start shorting $h!t
@@SIRICKO Yup I usually check the passenger side where the ecu is to see if it got wet after raining it's common on Hondas I had the same thing happened on my other ecu and it wouldn't prime unless it was hot
@@SIRICKO What are you talking about bro lol my car doesn't have leaks and my S300 V3 works makes just under 400whp with boost by gear tuned on 91 pump & E85 flex fuel I can use either or Hondata makes the boost and afr adjustments per my tune 👌
This is the great thing about youtube, sharing. Found the other guy, chip number is TA8903SN. Where did you buy yours? I already replaced all the caps on that board, plus the dual relay, same issue. I am thinking you and the other guy you referred to have the magic mushroom!
