Fuel inlet hoses developed splits where they bend between the fuel fill inlet and the tanks. Filling the fuel tanks would leak fuel into the cockpit. Replaced the hoses at a dock with hoses I got at a truck parts place.

My webasto heater failed too and I just ended up replacing it with one of those 100 dollar ones on amazon, works great and has a decent controller. Might be good backup as a 'just-in-case' for cold climate places.

We quickly learned that on this trip, the heater became a mission-critical component.

Years ago I was on the Missouri River about 150 miles into my trip to the Ohio River, solo. I was cruising along about 28 MPH on a beautiful sunny day when I felt the slightest bump trough the steering wheel. The revs shot up so I turned off the motor (350 Mercruiser) and quickly discovered whatever I hit and sheared off the entire lower unit. That was a bad, very, very bad day.🤪

You would think the manufacturer would automatically install fuel/water separators on every thing that consumes gas, diesel or kerosene fuel. Water in fuel is an instant problem, potentially a danger or at least a major trip interrupter.

The Webasto heater isn't critical... until you find yourself in SE Alaska in June. Lemondrop also had about 3 gallons of bad diesel in her tank as she doesn't usually use her heater at home in Anacortes, WA. We use our heater on Channel Surfing and usually go through about 6 gallons of fuel a year. We burned through 8 gallons of fuel in 5 weeks in SE Alaska. Once we got back home I ended up draining Lemondrops entire diesel fuel tank and put in 5 gallons of new kerosene. Works great now. :)

the garmin stop working, at night just as I puled anchor. No radar in the intercontinental water way with the channel markers are not lit. run real slow with the head out the window.

Wow!! We pulled into Cap Sante marina at night once. We had charts and RADAR, but without lit markers it made it really tough. We had our heads out the window with a handheld spot light doing 1 knot trying to stay in the channel and not hit a channel marker.

Do you remember the snake manufacturer?
@Letsgochannelsurfing
@Letsgochannelsurfing 11 месяцев назад
I don't, unfortunately. It was more like a drain snake brush. Was about 2 foot long with a flexible handle and a brush at the end that was probably a little over 1" in diameter.
