Pretty much anything can be turned into a reality competition show these days, and Ink Master proved that people will watch tattoo artists compete to be named the best in the country by the guy from Jane’s Addiction. Like most reality competitions, it’s edited in such a way to make every timed challenge seem like it comes down to the last second, but that’s not too surprising. There has, however, been some pretty shocking controversy about the show over the years, and it may have even led to its (perhaps temporary) cancellation. Let’s take a look at the untold truth of Ink Master.

Yeah, if the whole argument is that any tat artist worth their salt uses themselves as their first practice canvas before ever turning their needle on a client... then why did the producers pick him in the first place? Unless they only planned to boot him from the beginning for manufactured drama *ALLEGEDLY*

I have no idea if Oliver Peck has changed his opinions or sense of humor when it comes to Black people or not but that was on MySpace. That had to be 20+ years ago. My man said "Less racist." at the end😂 I felt that.

Season 1 Lea Vendetta finished 3rd I believe, I think she should of finished higher. I know the show got her a lot of exposure and I ended up getting a tattoo done by here when she was doing a residency in Vegas!

It was an old photo that resurfaced and in today's culture any old photo of something like that will resurface like it just came out. He is a cool guy, it's a shame that he made that choice because he most likely won't be returning to TV.

Even better than Cops was a newer show on the ID Channel called BODY CAM. That show was INTENSE, edge of ur seat the whole show!! It was fvkng fantastic! It was pulled shortly after shit went down last summer. But they have other shows still on that are good, like Court Cam, I Survived a Crime, Crimes Gone Viral, Chaos in Court...so many! Hell, I LIVE on the ID Channel! Murder and mayhem all day long!!

Season 3 was the worst when they eliminated Craig (literally the best artist on the show) but kept annoying ass tatu baby who literally quit minutes beforehand & had been doing trash tattoos for 4 episodes straight. Omg that pissed me off lol. The constant coddling & ass kissing she got was so annoying.

Why dose the prison episode always get brought up?? Dose no one remember in the same episode all the “prisoners “ were at the shop the very next day and they said they weren’t actually prisoners but some of them had done time in the past. No prison is gonna let a tattoo reality show just come in and start tattooing inmates.

SO disappointing. 🤨 He had such a jolly, carefree, happy attitude. I loved Ollie. Well, no more. For those saying "it was years ago", who gives a d*mn. How do we know he doesn't STILL have those beliefs? Has he said otherwise? Has he come out and ACKNOWLEDGED what he did was ignorant and racist? Has he said he no longer feels that way about black folks? Or are u assuming? Ya he apologized but it was more of a business apology, to protect potential future business dealings. Lame! What a crock.

It made me so upset when they had the contestants tattoo people in jail, because they treated them like shit. The judges acted like tattooing jail mates was so weird, and the way they talked about them was dehumanizing. Also, how do people still like Oliver Peck? He sexually harassed a producer on the show, and denied it. (Chris Nunez did too) He has also been so racist. Please do not defend either of them.

What about its treatment of dark skinned canvasses? what about the fact that only one black person ever won Ink Master? What about the treatment of black artists, who were also treated poorly by fellow artists but that was never addressed? What about Oliver Peck and his racism, the blackface incident? I get they removed Oliver but you can still hear his comments and he didn't apologise for his racism, he only apologised for being caught. This show was trash to non white people, especially black people
