love weezer =w= when my friend saw them here in bakersfield in 2001 he said “hey it’s rivers!” and rivers said “well that’s my name but that’s not who i am” pretty strange lol he’s one of the most interesting famous people that i’ve ever heard of

i love how rivers is just so unapologetically himself. he does whatever he wants to do and doesn't hide his personality. not to mention he's a musical genius and incredibly smart. i look up to this dude.

I have always loved weezer and I feel like rivers is under appreciated as a musician as a whole. Weezers best years are still to come and once their time is up people will appreciate them a lot more

The thing about Rivers is if you want to know his past, all you have to do is ask. He’s very open.

They’ve been one of my favorites since I was a young teen/preteen. I am 33 and saw them live for the first time right before Christmas. You can feel the true artistry and love of music and what they do. He was amazing!

River's father played percussion on a Wayne Shorter LP, and played with Weather Report? Those are some impressive musical roots. Can't say I hear any Indian influence in River's music, except for possibly playing in an open tuning.

Honestly Rivers Como should release solo albums. It would give him ability to distance himself from Weezer.. And give himself artistic freedom to pursue other musical forms. And give himself some breathing room. Into exploring new music forms. Without the taint of Weezer or the fan base. It would definitely be a great break for him.. And he definitely needs it badly.. It could fall flat or be the greatest musical album ever.. But he definitely needs a chance to do it.. without any expectations attached from Weezer fans..

I'm willing to bet and it's just a theory.. Rivers Como was trying to be Trent reznor for Weezer.. It's a bit of a stretch but come on.. he was trying desperately to find new musical forms. New levels of artistic freedom in music.. But the fan base was too loud and annoying.. and he went with the cookie cutter approach.. To appease the mighty weight of the fan base.. And losing any artistic freedom in music.. Honestly he should just ignore the fan base..

I honestly feel sorry about rivers Como.. He's stuck between appeasing his fans of WEEZER and trying to be a musical artist.. He's definitely in a catch 22.. Me personally I like Weezer's music. you just need to learn how to listen to it differently.. And not being so judgmental as a fan to a band artistic view and what they're trying to do.. Yeah you're a loyalist to Weezer.. but get mad because River comos is steering Weezer into a musical form.. And now you're starting a petition to end Weezer. Because you don't like the last album.. You're obviously missing the point you idiots.. he's trying to do something different with Weezer.. And it flew over your heads.. Remember how PINKERTON was considered the worst album..
