For years, he played a hilariously inept conservative pundit on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, but these days, Stephen Colbert is able to be himself on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Thankfully, the real Colbert is just as funny as the character.

I hate this jerks TV show, surprised it's still on the air. Why would he want to lose 1/2 of his audience by being so offensive to The President of the United States? If any of his show gets in my house it pisses me right off. Auto Play was on or he wouldn't have got on this time. What makes this dumb assed snowflake think his opinions matter? Get a Sunday Morning Show jerk. I'd rather laugh at that time of day. Steven Colbert isn't the least bit funny. CBS should hand him his walking papers.

rozzyrice Sadly, this may be the natural order of things. We are not a democracy...we are a republic. Or...we were a republic. Some would say we are the new Rome. And what happened to Rome? Humans claim they want freedom, and yet their actions do not prove those claims. With that being said, saying most of us are "nasty" and "abusive" is quite a stretch. We are a big country with many people. Many of us are good and are of balanced mind. Try not to get caught up in what you see on RU-vid or the media. It is an illusion.

Kristi Mosher yes and no, he doesn't share it often but he's also definitely never hidden any of this... of course his talking about it varies from subject to subject, I've only heard him talk about his family (dad and brothers) once in the interview with Oprah and I think if they would let him he would spend every single show talking about Lord of the rings... along with every other waking moment of his life lol... definitely not untold though, especially considering they havebclips of him talking about everything that's on this list

I liked Colbert before seeing this but now that I find we have some things in common and I like him even more. My all time favorite books, The Hobbit and The LOR, and I also suffered some hearing loss early on due to a bout with measles as a child. Learned a lot about Colbert from this thanks for sharing.

When he was talking to the kids he was making a very grown up joke about the similarities between what we teach kids about three president and what we teach kids about God. This man is a very rare combination of faith and humilty.

No on will read this, but I met my husband the same way. I saw him, and when over to say hello. I complimented him on his coat. I then gave him my phone number ( never gave my phone number to people to people I did not know) One year later, we got married. We have got married one year later. We have a daughter in collage now. He is kind and wonderful. I am amazed by the way we met, we have been happy, we love each other and his parents are fantastic. Mine are gone, but it is still wonderful.
